He says it's not what he said, then he says it's what he says.
It's creepy.
"During a Thursday morning interview on "Fox and Friends," Trump was asked if he did in fact make the comments quoted in Rolling Stone.
The real estate mogul first noted that "the pictures in the magazine were magnificent" and that "overall, it was probably a pretty good story."
He then said, "Probably I did say something like that about Carly," adding later that he said it "in a jocular manner." He also said it wasn't about her appearance.
"Im talking about persona. Im not talking about looks," he said on Fox. TPM
Well, he said he wasn’t talking about her “face” at all, but about her “persona”. See, he straightened us all out.
Yes, he should have added an apology. How hard would that have been? Give it a few days, and we’ll see how this plays out.
“She deserves an apology. His comment says a lot about him.”
His aversion to constant apologies is why he appeals to a great majority of voters. What’s next, should we expect to give trophies to all of the POTUS candidate who don’t make the nomination?? This country needs to man up and take its tampon out!
“Have you ever said anything like that about somebody in public? Would you?”
He didn’t say it in public. It was a casual comment made in a private setting, the only issue being a reporter was present, and like any slithering liberal slime, will report on anything and everything that could bury a Republican.
“He also said this in a private setting, not at a podium. Hes guilty of not realizing that one is always on record when talking to a journalist”
He’s with a journalist, and he’s been tabloid material for decades. He knew, for sure. That’s why I think it was strategic...because even his biggest so-called mistakes suck out all of the Oxygen from the other candidates...and so again that will happen.
He said it with the reporter [doing a story on him] in tow; the one he'd invited to tag along for a few days.
Here's the thing. Trump speaks his mind without any filter. Everyone knows that. That's actually what people like about him.
He's the same in front of the TV as he is sitting at the dinner table.
He holds the same views as you and I do and he says what he thinks.
If that were going to ruin his chances, it would have ended him long ago.
People just eventually give in and say, that's just Trump being Trump. He doesn't hide who he is or what he's thinking.
And because he says what he thinks, people know who he is. And because they know who he is, they trust him.
All the problems in this world and this is what people on FR get worked up about?
Perspective folks, perspective.
Between Luntz’s shaking legs and someone calling 911 for the Black widow in the grapes on another thread, it has become obvious we are doomed.
I'd bet money Scott Walker wouldn't use someone's looks to attack them. It's lowbrow bully behavior.
Now Trump wants to rewrite history because his persona is so ugly.
“a personal insult is no big deal.”
WELL!...I never!...
“I’d bet money Scott Walker wouldn’t use someone’s looks to attack them. It’s lowbrow bully behavior.”
And look where Walker is in the polls compared to Trump...
“Hes talking fast and not making any sense.”
Immigration plan last month was outstanding and made a LOT OF SENSE. Tax plan this month will probably be just as good.
I don’t worry about him having some fun getting into the heads of donor-controlled Republicans.
“Me too. The whole thing us a non-issue. The Bushbots still dont get it.”
They cannot ever get it, that’s why they need to be ROUTED and REPLACED.
Apparently it takes something like another nasty Trump outburst to get attention.
Goodness knows, Trump’s changing political parties, his support for gun control, universal healthcare, abortion and his contributions to Democrat Party leaders certainly hasn’t.
It would have been more fitting had he said it about one of Hillary’s pictures.
That says more about the people being polled than it does about Walker.
And I’d be curious to know how many of those getting their giggles watching this Trump circus act would vote for him come election day.
No, he was talking about looks. We know it. He knows it. Trying to lie his way out of a sixth-grade schoolyard insult is very much in keeping with Trumps personality, but it won’t work.
Actually, there is plenty of reason. It's just not easy to see.
The reason is this. Trump is a straight talker and that tells people that he means what he says. He is transparent in personality and people trust that.
Are they right to trust that? We'll find out.
But that's the reasoning behind the support for Trump.
What he says is simple but it is still what voters want. Trump has never been eloquent. But Obama was eloquent and look what that got the country...his eloquence was all a lie.
Trump is the anti-Obama, the anti-politician.
That's the reason.
It's not a traditional reason one would use in evaluating a politician, but Americans have had it with politicians. In fact, Americans have had it with everyone even remotely associated with politics.
I find him and his statements very humorous and will crawl over broken glass to vote for him.
Listen to this and then come back and see if you can honestly repeat that.
I've been saying that for months now, it's really only a matter of time I'd say. He is what he is, a force of nature really. Sometimes they can be a force for good, sometimes not. It's only a matter of time before Hurricane Donald makes landfall and it's not going to be pretty. Unless he actually changes who he is, which is a man who says what he thinks, with little or no editing. I don't see him changing his whole personality even for a Presidential race. Heck he may even get the nomination at this point before saying or doing something so stupid even he can't recover. Of course that would be a disaster, to have him implode from his mouth during the general election. It's a risk though his supporters must be willing to take.
Again it's only a matter of time. It's a "lock" as some might say.
