For all the talk about Donald Trump allegedly driving minorities away from the Republican Party, could he actually bring people in?
A SurveyUSA poll released Friday shows in a hypothetical matchup with Hillary Clinton, Trump is ahead 45% to 40%.
But digging into the racial breakdown of the respondents is revealing. For example, the poll finds 25% of black respondents say they would vote for Trump over Clinton.
How impressive is that?

Cruz voted for it...and 98% of the Senate! Yet you’re convinced that Trump or whoever your dream candidate is would have been in that rare 1% who voted against it if he had been a Senator. Despite neither Trump nor almost anyone else having as pure an overall conservative record as Cruz.
Cruz tried to amend the bill to be able to stop the Iran deal and he was voted down. He said he only voted on final passage because it would delay Iran sanctions relief longer than if it didn’t pass.

The Corker amendment...yeah, I can see all the negative ads taking Cruz down over that one. “Cruz is an extremist who voted with 98% of the Senate on something called the Corker amendment and isn’t fit to be president!”
What a joke issue.
No flip-flop on TPA. Cruz explained why he didn’t like the bill in its final form. The only vote that counts is the final one. His earlier vote was not for a finished bill.
J C Watts ?
Actually you make a valid point. They recognize that the Donald is an Alpha Male.
Specific events help shift attitudes. Movie Warroom is currently #1 and #1 with Black audiences. How do religious/cultural events like Warroom change things?
Most of my neighbors on the South and East sides of Atlanta are Black. In 2014 they complained about higher insurance premiums and deductibles for less coverage and less choice of doctor. They said they were not going to vote for Michelle Nunn. I did not believe them. I saw a massive, well financed, well staff GOTV. I predicted Michelle would lose to Perdue in a close race.
I was wrong. It was not close. A few flipped R. Many regular D voters stayed home “to teach them a lesson”.
Perdue won by a big margin because the Black Dems who turned out in 2010 and in off years for Kaseem stayed home in 2014.
I wifi from mostly Black McDs on Atlanta’s south and east sides. When Trump is on CNN everyone gathers around the TV and loves Trmp. I am the anti-Trump voice in the group. (I talk politics at McDs more than I post to FR.
Or much about Hopkins?
people respect strength...what a surprise
You may have touched on the truth. II think Blaxks may like a slowing of illegal immigration.
Something's definitely going on there. I guess it's because Trump's a known quantity to black folks. They knew him before he shifted to the Republican camp, and have long standing respect and admiration for the man.
Now he's speaking to something that is perhaps the greatest immediate threat to them - namely, illegal immigration. When he says, "They've got to go", Americans of all races rejoice, but especially blacks, who've been impacted the worst by the invasion.
I think it’s that Trump is speaking to the blacks that have been ignored by both the Republicans and Democrats, working-class blacks who don’t buy into the racist-hatred memes of the Sharptons and the Jacksons.
Interesting...
We’ll know soon enough.
Well said...
I'll bet it's even more than that.
I'd be willing to bet that lots of blacks who once gave Jackson and Sharpton their ears, have finally had enough of being used as mindless minions, to enrich and empower those race baiting criminals. Not to mention, Obama is their biggest disappointment.
People of all stripes recognize how wobbly our country's become, and are looking for a real leader with the guts to actually do something about it before the whole thing implodes.
If I can say something not PC without being attacked?? Would have been great if Carson was the first black President, then we all could have been proud!
However I wonder how many people will say...we just had a black President...been there done that.
I know that is ridiculous but I think a lot of libs will say that and people from all sides will think that if not only in their subconscious.
I think Carson would be a good President though he is not on the top of my list
Obama is only half black and his ancestors weren’t slaves, he was raised by his white family, so he isn’t representative of black Americans. Some actor, I think maybe it was Morgan Freeman, said we have not yet had our first black President. Of course I can imagine what he would say about President Carson, LOL.
I think he would do a good job, and would do a lot better than Obama about racial tensions.
what you said
Haha in your face!! Love it! Trump All The Way!
Who’s your guy at this point in this race?
none
Did your all Mexican crew have any illegals? If so, did you try to get any white or black roofers? If not, why not?
"The big problem the GOP has is that its not going to be Hillary"
I think you're right.
Kerry was badly damaged going in to November 2004, not to mention the Iraq War put a wind to Bush43's back.
They probably will not make that mistake again.
