Palin eyeing energy secretary in Trump WH - I'd get rid of the Energy Department, Palin says

WASHINGTON (CNN) —Sarah Palin knows the position she wants in a Donald Trump administration: Energy secretary.

"I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby: oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind's use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations," she told CNN's Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union."

But Palin, the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominee, might be the first potential cabinet member to openly speak about dissolving their office.

Our old friend, the late Howie Phillips, was appointed by Nixon to head the Office of Economic Opportunity. As soon as it became clear to the quivering mass of bureaucrats at OEO that Howard was making headway on his announced plan to ELIMINATE the OEO, the union heads went to Nixon and demanded Howard be fired. Nixon did so!

Let’s pray that if November, 2016 brings a Trump administration to office and he appoints Palin and others with the same goals, Trump has more backbone than Nixon exhibited.

They’re not so stupid they “want” a nuclear disaster. They’re not THAT stupid. Japan wasn’t THAT stupid.
But they might not adequately consider their downwind friends without Federal oversight. And they might cut a few corners.

Well my friend, you need to rethink the nuclear plant thing. The plants that use heavy water are the most dangerous thing to the USA and human race. They can not be shutdown fast. They will explode and take us with them. They use grid power for their cooling pumps and other power requirements. The lost of grid to these would be disastrous. The idiots that designed these plants said that they could not self power because if they went down they would have no power for the emergency items. I ASK: Why not
self power and switch over to grid power if a plant shutdown occurs. That way if the grid shuts down it will not affect the plants. They will be self-sustaining.
We need to force those idiots to redesign their failsafe system to be self-powered primarily and use the grid for backup. Every plant can be converted in 6mo to a year if given priority.

I’m all for SAFE nuclear. I agree with you, that safety systems are critical and should be very well designed. That’s one of the reasons, I think approval needs to stay at the federal level.

"I'd get rid of (the Energy Department). And I'd let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their states. If I were in charge of that, it would be a short-term job, but it would be ... really great to have someone who knows energy and is pro-responsible development to be in charge."

If Palin were in charge of that then she'd be Secretary of the Interior and not Secretary of Energy.

Palin doesn't need Hewitt to stick her foot in it. She's doing fine on that all on her own.

Got this excerpt from Monica Crowley show a few years back.
It was part of a longer letter addressed "Dear Federal Government":

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year, and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right, and it is an abysmal failure.

The "letter"skewered many federal government sacred cows.

The DOE needs to focus on maintaining reliable supplies without oil price shocks. Evalutating new technologies and funding research. Funding production of viable technologies only on a very small scale again for research purposes.

You are kidding, right?

Let’s end the EPA, Dept of Education and cut IRS down to Accts receivable only!

______

I’m with you. . . .the Dept. of Ed especially (follow the money) and the state departments of ed (follow the money). We now have local school boards who are in charge of nothing.

BLM needs to go also... I think States should be perfectly capable in managing their own land! Downsizing our government could be pretty swift and simple...

What's this?! A Trump toady who defaults to the politically correct (read: leftist) response when someone disagrees. I'm confused. Wasn't that supposed to be one of the redeeming features about Trump -- that he wouldn't tolerate political correctness? And there you go, descending to the lowest common denominator exactly as a leftie would!

You need to go back to the drawing board on your response technique. Your snappy comebacks need work -- a LOT of work! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
