Sarah Palin knows the position she wants in a Donald Trump administration: Energy secretary.
"I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby: oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind's use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations," she told CNN's Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union."
But Palin, the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominee, might be the first potential cabinet member to openly speak about dissolving their office.

They will do anything humanly possible to prevent a Trump presidency, including going after VP Cruz on the birther issue. (Think again if you don’t believe the Establishment Dems would file such a lawsuit against Cruz; and Cruz must understand he is a liability on this, which makes me question if he isn’t Establishment himself. Cruz’s wife sure is.)...
The Establishment will do ANYTHING to prevent outsiders from getting into the Oval Office, including a third Obama term. We saw that with Palin.
We all need to get beyond the lie of “left/right” politics and start to really fathom the evil behind selling dead baby parts, destroying the economy and healthcare, destroying the sovereignty of the nation for a One World government; we are in a spiritual war. These people are not just “secularists or atheists”... there is something much much more evil at work here and we are ridiculously ignorant not to recognize it for what it is.
Let’s not forget the Bush Administration funded Planned Parenthood for eight full years to the tune of $2.2 billion and Rove was caught by Palin’s friend Karen Handel manipulating Planned Parenthood monies when she was working at Susan G Komen. People who do thing like this are not “nice”. This is evil stuff. Evil.
It’s a spiritual war, not a “right/left” war. Trump needs our prayers and we need to be asking God to unveil the evil.
I do. I was working in engineering design in Alaska for the Alaskan North Slope oil facilities when she ran for governor.
She ran on, and put in place, a massive, retroactive tax increase on oil production.
The result was a extreme drop in investment in Alaska. Planned projects were put on hold. Many jobs were lossed. My engineering department dropped to about a third in about a year; 50% and greater job losses were typical for most companies that worked on engineering and design for future projects.
While the rest of the country started booming with new oil production, Alaska greatly lagged. Jobs grew in the lower 48 while Alaska continued at a much slower pace.
Did Bolling not sign the FOX anti-Trump loyalty agreement?
Pray America is waking
She was, but apparently some people put their faith in questionable undergraduate "degrees" which are not much more than tickets to graduate school, than in real-life experience.
I seem to recall another so-called expert with a questionable undergraduate degree. He's on TV a lot.
Gimme a break.
Sarah Palin will do an outstanding job as ES, no question. PROVIDED she is left to her own devices.
The more latitude she is given, the better the outcome will be.
A President Trump will afford a woman like Ms. Palin a wide range of authority - and he will back her decisions up too.
Nobody can say Sarah hasn’t been through the fire. She’s taken more unwarranted abuse from the msm and the left than anyone else, bar none.
No way, Bolling is a good guy but he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer even on The 5. Don’t get me wrong, I like him very much but he is not sharp enough.
PS - I wish he would pound Jerry Rivers head into the table.
The energy policies that Palin implemented as Guv were all undone.
The Palin pipeline(AGIA) was dead before she left office and was the primary reason she left.
Palin's oil tax increase(ACES) was undone by Parnell and Sullivan which was subsequently upheld by Alaska voters.
Palin's attempt to force the Exxon consortium to develop Pt Thompson was undone by the courts.
This doesn't mean she can't serve as energy secretary. Historically, that is a political appointment. Obama was the first and only to hire technical people for the job.
She has wisely said she’d run it just so long as it would take to shut it down.
Bolling probably wishes he could do it on live TV and get away with it.
To do anything with any of these cabinet or other agencies, he will need to fire some congress critters, starting with Bonehead and McCookoo.
Maybe a remedial course in 'Tar & Feathering' techniques would help.
Ted Cruz, Chief Justice of SCOTUS.
Because her plans were “undone” by politicians working with the oil companies does not make them bad plans - just unpopular with the powerful.
I’ll take that anytime.
If that was intended to be clever, it needs work.
Well said Tagged.
Awww someone's Ox got gored.
AsI recall Parnell was undone by Sarah, or are we forgetting why that happened?
I'm just guessing this is the boondoggle Palin came up against with Big Oil, that somehow they weren't drilling because THEY wanted the money that went to Alaskans...
... the same reason Karl Rove’s pals worked for Prop 6 (which had to do with developing Pebble mine and the gold that the people of Alaska own in the same way they own the oil) in 2008 when Palin hinted to vote against it. (And this was before McCain picked her for VP.)
I'm sure I'm oversimplifying; but I'm also sure there is a good ol’ boy Big Oil moratorium on Alaskan oil because of who the profits are going to.
I say all this because Palin has always been correct: Alaskan natural resources are huge and strangely, untapped. Another reason Obama just went up there.
The question is, why wasn't the Big Oil establishment drilling before Palin? It would be just about the same reason they didn't drill after. They have a monopoly on oil and a glut wrecks their profits.
Since you have more of a science background, let me ask you a Big Oil question question: who says old wells don't replenish themselves? If we can make oil out of vegetation in a lab, why do we believe that only fossils create oil?
I have said a few times that I think Palin would be a good Energy Secretary. She really knows what she’s talking about.
On one the episodes of her reality TV show a few years ago they are on a plane and she was asked about the oil etc. For once her voice modulated and she spoke normally not in that herky jerky way she usually talks that drives me nuts. She actually seemed totally at ease and obviously very informed and knowledgeable. I was impressed. Trump should definitely offer that cabinet position to Palin if he wins.
