Sarah Palin knows the position she wants in a Donald Trump administration: Energy secretary.
"I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby: oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind's use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations," she told CNN's Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union."
But Palin, the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominee, might be the first potential cabinet member to openly speak about dissolving their office.

SARAH!!!
Saw the entire interview. This part was perfect and I will refer back to the meeting she had with Trump in New York after his announcement. Followed by a visit from Ted Cruz.
Her remarks today put credence to what I think may happen if it comes to pass. Combine Interior, Energy and EPA under one roof and then cut the guts out of the last two. Then start cutting Interior to only those departments that are required in regards to any shutdown scenario. Then start on the rest of the alphabet soup cabal.
Nothing against Sarah, but someone who truly knows more about oil and gas would be Eric Bolling, the Fox cohost of The Five. Yeah, he may be tainted by Fox, but is a true conservative and not a politician.
I didn't know Palin had a science degree in energy...?
Oh, wait " Palin returned to the University of Idaho in January 1986, and received her bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism in May".
Journalism and energy are the same thing. My bad.
EPA...Is trying to kill the. Drilling....
Because she knows that the Department of Energy produces NO energy..
Obama has a fancy academic resume, which shows how silly your statement is.
Palin got her “degree” in energy as Gov. of Alaska. The real world really is the best place to learn - and she beat the best.
What? Do you understand Palin’s creds with energy? How she fought Big Oil in her state and won?
What are you doing posting this kind of ridiculous slam on Palin on FR?
(Not you RoosterR ... just sort of cc’ing you on this)
Wasn’t Sarah Palin the head of the Alaska Oil & Gas Commission BEFORE she was the governor of that state?
Sarah is a lot like Trump.EXCEPT SOCIAL ISSUES
Sarah takes on Big Oil: The compelling story of Governor Sarah Palin’s battle with Alaska’s ‘Big 3’ oil companies, as told by the state’s top oil and gas editors, Kay Cashman and Kristen Nelson Hardcover October 17, 2008
by Kay Cashman (Author), Kristen Nelson (Author)
When I read the other reviewers’ comments that this book was a unbiased reporting of what Sarah had done, I wanted to read it. This book clearly addresses and identifies the corruption in the Alaskan Government and the oil industry before Sarah became Governor. Sarah was the reformer that helped stop this abuse as she fought for the Alaskan people.
While the mainstream media continually tries to portray her as “stupid,” this book shows you the intelligence and guts she had to take on some of the most powerful people in Alaskan Government and BP, ConocoPhillips, and ExxonMobil. She accomplished a lot in the short time she was Governor.
Since the book is about “Big Oil,” there is a lot of information on oil and oil production. While I wasn’t that interested in the oil information, I knew I needed to read it so I could understand the challenge Sarah took on to end the corruption. The previous administration fired people who would not look the other way and allow the corruption to go on. Others “ethical” officials resigned their offices over these firings. They are referred to by the Alaskan people and the authors of the book as “The Magnificent Seven.” Sarah hired most, if not all, back after she was elected.
The book went to press late last year(2008), before the almost year long smear campaign of the mainstream media had taken its toll. Near the end of the book, Stefan Milkowski, a freelance reporter living in Fairbanks who writes about climate change and energy issues makes this statement about what he predicts would happen when Sarah returns home. “It’s kind of like somebody going to the big leagues and then coming back home,” he said. “She wouldn’t suffer.” Unfortunately, he didn’t realize the maliciousness of the “big league” press, and others who see Sarah as standing in the way of their own personal or political gain
I would love for Gov Sarah to be part of Trump’s team along with Cruz. The threesome could make America Great Again!
God Bless them and shower them with wisdom.
These is no reason DoEd can’t go at the same time, no reason to wait.

This proposed model has the President directly managing six subordinates which is optimal.
In non-cabinet level jobs
Sheriff Clarke should be FBI Director
Doctor Benjamin Carson as Surgeon General
Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson would be great as President Trumps Co-Press Secretaries.
Need to get rid of the DOJ....it enforces the RICO racket that is the federal government....
I’m a major Palinista and I know all about Palin and Big Oil but I didn’t know about that book. Interesting publishing date, considering that was about the trigger date that the Bush White House and Rove told the former Bush White House staffers, Schmidt and the Wallaces, to openly start trashing their own VP candidate.
I also believe Mark and Nicolle Wallace and Schmidt tried to rig the VP debate against Palin, who overcame tremendous odds to beat Biden hands down.
The same forces (Bush GOPE) that were out to sink Palin are now after Trump, because even in 08, they were eyeing Jeb’ 16. We will see very soon if all of the controversial theories about how it was the Bush White House that was gunning for Palin are true or not by the way they hit Trump.
Didn’t he want to eliminate the IRS as well? He said he wanted to put H&R Block out of business.
Treasury Secretary Carl Icahn under President Trump would hopefully handle that elimination.
