Washington (CNN)Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Friday that he wished a Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis, was not jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, but he added that the Supreme Court has ruled and it is "the law of the land."

Wow! Who knew that Huckabee and Trump thought exactly alike? ;^) :^D
It’s a statement from Huckabee, not Trump. Trump said what is quoted at the beginning of the thread.
Well that pretty well finishes Trump for me.
I have tried to understand the role he was playing in this election cycle, but I can no longer support him in any way.
This is the same kind of Heaven, and Hell question as Ms. Davis is facing.
At this point I don’t see how any Christian can continue to support Mr Trump after this.
I had already been asked to give up too many Conservative principles to support him, including my stance on the IRS, and taxes.
This is one straw too many.
We keep getting chided for choosing the “Lesser of two evils”. Well, I for one, will never do that again.
His response to this fight is as sickening as the responses from the GOPe candidates.
The weakness of the GOPE frontrunner this year (Jeb) is giving us a great opportunity.
We have a couple very good guys like Walker and Cruz running, now if only people would remove their heads from their backsides and back one of them instead of a RINO megalomaniac con artist. We might as well nominate a Nigerian Prince.
We have the funds to purchase a fine vehicle that will get the kids to school safely for 8 years. It would be a sad sad shame to blow it on fancy red sports car (Ooo, shiny) with a severed brake line and a dead raccoon in the trunk.
Signing that stupid pledge showed just how infectious politics and the desire for power is. Remarkably short time for Trump to turn into just another hack.
Toast. Next poll will show it.
??? They're very recent "years ago" and the ones from 2015 aren't from "years ago" at all...some of them are less than a month.
Dammit, Donald. You’re the one candidate in the whole bunch who has the clout to turn this whole mess around and you decide to play it safe?
I’ll still vote for you if you’re the nominee, because you’re correct on the only two issues that REALLY matter this time around, but you really put your foot in it with this comment.
I got it off of a Trump site. I hope it was Trump saying it. Hopefully he will talk about it on the Sunday shows. The fact that mayors of cities can violate federal and state laws with their Sanctuary Cities immigration treason and NOTHING HAPPENS TO THEM....BUT THIS LADY GOES TO JAIL?
Can you imagine how the mosques across the world are treating this....”the Great Satan America funds the killing of a thousands of its babies every single day and then sells their cut up body parts....but when one person stands against Sodomy they are thrown in jail”.
Semper Fi.....ah those were the days, we cut threw them like hot switchblades through butter. What part of the world you in now?
You should definitely vote for Trump. I would if I was a person like you.
I guess I don’t see him as this great communicator personally. Maybe part of that is because I’m pretty much Cruz all the way and so I don’t set aside time to specifically listen to a whole Trump speech. As far as that goes, I don’t necessarily set time aside to listen to a whole Cruz speech.
But he certainly doesn’t have the same style and tone of communicating that Reagan did. Quite frankly, I see that more in Cruz, and yes I am a Cruz guy I admit, than I do Trump. The humility, the sincerity, the low key sense of humor- I think both Cruz and Reagan have/had that, as well as of course the ability to articulate their points brilliantly.
Trump articulates some things well and other things he just seems to get lost on. I understand there are things he’s still trying to learn.
It is not. You are correct there.
Trump has had a bad couple of days, the mask is slipping.. will anyone care?
Not the fawning LIVs.
And they are everywhere.
They kind of remind me of the Obama supporters in 08 and 12.
Now, do not get me wrong I like some of the things “The Donald” is saying but some of these people are going mad over him. He is just another candidate and they need to do their research and listen to his words.
I am still sticking with Cruz for now. Trump was swaying me for a while but nope, he has jumped the shark on this one.
And his attitude of name calling has gotten old and childish. I want a grown up in the White House. Tired of man childs like we have had for 8 years.
He doesnt have a sterling record as a conservative activist, but I sincerely doubt hes to the left of Giuliani. At least he doesnt lead the gay pride parade down Broadway. He says that homosexualism is not his thing.
Im for Cruz but will settle for Trump over Señor Bush, FioRINO or any of the other corrupt GOPe amnesty pimps.

Well said Jim...I agree!
Any of THEM gonna build a wall?
Are we afraid of having a Maginot Line on our Southern edge that will just be avoided?
There's no such thing as bad PR.
Even longer ago than your fine list of quotes...
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
We may learn to LOVE the smell of brimstone in the morning!
We’ve substituted our solid Rock foundation for one of sand, and now the storms are coming...
