Washington (CNN)Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Friday that he wished a Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis, was not jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, but he added that the Supreme Court has ruled and it is "the law of the land."

Man if he ever DID say that... everyone should call him Batman.
(OK, back to our regular programmed reality)
Are any of those People you listed going to get the SCOTUS to reverse their Ruling?
Are they going to promote Armed Resistance to change the SCOTUS Ruling?
What actions will they take that will turn their empty comments into changing the SCOTUS Ruling?
The answer is absolutely nothing.
If not, Trump is absolutely correct. He is a Private Citizen and a Candidate for President, not the Emperor who can change things with a wave of his hand or by issuing a Proclamation.
People can whine till the Cows come home, but it changes nothing. We don't like it, but there are many Laws I don't like that would land me in Jail if I violated them.
Bad call on Trump’s part.
Yes, there are libertarians and fiscal conservatives, as if that were possible without moral/social conservatism being primary.
” Im sure he is not the most conservative, but he probably IS the most conservative that has any chance of winning.”
If polls are accurate and mean anything though, at this point in time that really doesn’t mean a lot, because TODAY that would make him about the ONLY one who has any chance of at least winning the nomination.
Which under those circumstances he could also be the LEAST conservative candidate in the whole field. While I’m not a fan of his, I don’t necessarily think that. But it would be possible.
Trump’s where he is for a few reasons.
He HAS said some good, relevant things that have resonated.
He gets nonstop media coverage, at the expense of pretty much every other candidate in the race.
We’ve become a country obsessed with celebrities. I like to think those of us on the right are more intelligent or use our noodles a little bit more. But, whether we do or whether we don’t, we’re not immune to this undue admiration of some celebrities either.
As I mentioned, I see borderline hero worship of Trump on this board. Actually, it’s probably not even borderline.
RginTN, you are a breath of fresh air. Cruz can certainly beat the dems. If I thought about it long enough, I think I could beat them.
WtH is so fearsome about them? They are a shadow of their former selves.
They are up to their a$$es in corruption, deceit, fraud and best of all delivering boring speeches.
What used to be considered absurb 10 years ago is now the “rule of law”.
Presidents appoint Supreme Court justices and other federal judges. That can make a difference, if nothing else, in not getting even more bad decisions.
That’s ok pretty much everyone else is voting for Trump....enjoy your pity party loser ! zingzotzaboomy!
Here’s what scares me and what makes me not as confident as some of you guys that Trump is the best option to beat the Democrats.
For a guy like Trump, he has to, has to, HAS TO completely energize and motivate conservatives, independents, even some Democrats to go out and vote and vote for him.
But more to the point he has to motivate white people and at least some black people to do that.
And it’s not a racial thing other than this. There was one poll that showed that Donald Trump had a NEGATIVE 51 favorability rating with Hispanics. A NEGATIVE 51 favorability rating with Hispanics.
Look, I’ve never been a Trump guy. If he’s nominated I suppose I’ll end up voting for him. If he puts Cruz on the ticket, I’ll take that compromise.
But when he first announced, I was a guy who said, “No, Trump was absolutely right in what he said and as usual the media and the left is distorting it.” I liked that he was telling the truth. I wasn’t going to vote for him. But I liked that he was telling the truth.
But you can bet your bottom peso that La Raza will be working overtime cranking out those little packets again for the benefit of illegals, showing them where they can go vote without showing any id and providing them with the means to get to the polls.
With Trump, if he’s the candidate, they’ll be even more motivated to cheat than ever before. That’s why as I said, he needs to sustain what he’s done so far and even build on it to get those whites and again probably even a percentage of blacks to get out and vote for him.
Maybe he can. But even with the crowds he’s had and the poll numbers he has, it certainly won’t be an easy thing, imo.
Bush and the Republocrats would beat Cruz.
“He is a Private Citizen and a Candidate for President, not the Emperor who can change things with a wave of his hand or by issuing a Proclamation.”
Does this mean he can’t build the wall and make Mexico pay for it too? :(
Absolutely!
Seems like Trump has the same challenges that Reagan had in communicating that what he is for is what many Dems really are for. Reagan did that becasue he was a great communicator. Once in office, he accomplished it because he was a great negotiator. I see a similarity with Trump, not on all the issues (yet), but in his communication and negotiation abilities, both essential in winning and executing.
Is this the same Trump that said he was going to defend Christianity.
What a looser he just proved himself to be. He can’t even think this situation through enough to understand the obvious constitutional problems with it.
Lose the primary to win the general. Ya know, I could swear I heard that someplace else recently.......
“So Trump is afraid of the HOmosexual Lobby....maybe he has got a Larry Sinclair out there.”
You should be zoted for saying such a thing...
Tomas USMC, and his son marched with me against lib. protesters in Michigan. We were outnumbered by at least 10 to 1... don’t underestimate Tomas because of one perceived insensitive comment. I would go to hell and back with this guy. Get Some!

Sorry, put a fork in him, he’s done...
Is that an actual statement by Trump?
How long after the one at the beginning of this thread?
If this is accurate, then you’re right it is much better, but why the two statements.
