Sam Houston University student Monica Foy has been all over the media lately. The Woodlands resident took to Twitter a few days ago to share her thoughts on the death of Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Goforth who she said deserved to be executed and implied he has “creepy perv eyes." Her father, Andrew J. Foy, emailed in to the show with this to say:
I'm writing you because I'm finally able after being so sick to my stomach I could hardly breathe from the insensitive and stupid remark my daughter tweeted about the fallen officer. Our whole family is distraught and stupefied with embarrassment.
Yes, she's just a misguided college student that has flown off the handle with remarks that have had no forethought whatsoever and then later has had to choke on her words, but never like this. Quite frankly, I also feel some some relief that she was arrested to face her warrant once and for all.
Michael, I can tell you that it was a stupid mistake, and she tried to delete it as soon as she realized what she had done. Inexcusable? Absolutely!! And I might tell you that there WILL be an apology forthcoming soon to not only the family of the fallen officer, but to the police departments and general law abiding public.
I can honestly tell you that Monica respects the law and the officers. The arresting officers even commented on how polite and respectful she was (which is how she was brought up to be, not just because she was arrested). We had another officer out to the house yesterday because the of the death threats, not only towards Monica, but apparently it spread to the faculty members at N.T. Law School as well where her sister is a student and the school advised us to report the threats. Jesus ... I can't find enough words to express how dismayed we are and the degree of remorse she's feeling right now. I think she's probably got the idea of how sick and despicable her tweet was.

Seriously, WTF do you do when you get blind sided by a stupid move by a daughter who's caught up in all the strife of who's (sic) lives matter and mouths off in such a public way and then tries to retract it but it's gone viral ... but to sit her down, have a little educational talk (if you can catch my drift) and apologize profusely. Many years ago, I had a professor tell the class that there was in fact a positive and fairly strong correlation between a person’s head size and there intelligence.
I have since read in an Encyclopedia Britannica basically the same thing except it also said that the size related to the size of the person. For instance a Five foot girl would not be expected to have a head as large as a 6’5” guy etc.
I would be willing to bet a dollar that that girl has an IQ below 95.
This is a young lady with control issues and poor decision making skills. In other words, she’s the type Move On or Huff Po would hire as an online troll.

On Tuesday night she was arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office after authorities were alerted that Foy had an outstanding warrant related to a 2011 assault charge involving a co-worker. Foy quickly bonded out and is no longer in custody. No charges were pressed in Montgomery County.
“I would like to apologize profusely to every person who was offended by my words, but especially to Darren Goforth’s family and friends — whose heartbreak I cannot begin to fathom, and to the law enforcement community.
My statement and my choice of words were without the sensitivity that this tragedy calls for. I hope for nothing but peace and comfort for those in mourning, and cannot express how deeply I regret adding to their pain.”

I can understand and appreciate the father’s deep shame for what his flesh and blood said publicly. The shame is not his, however. The adult daughter must take full and absolute responsibility for her actions and words. It is hard to raise a child correctly and then see them go off the rails. One tries their best and sometimes it is simply not enough. Mr. Foy has my sympathies.
This is the first time I’ve read a statement by a family member of someone who mouthed off. He truly sounds like they were blindsided by their idiot daughter.
