Trump Signs Pledge, Joined in Progress (Long Article)

RUSH: Look at this. The media is all atwitter. They're gathered... There are throngs of 'em at Trump Tower. I don't know. You just have to love this. I mean, there is an overflow crowd of media and people waiting for Trump emerge from his meeting with Reince Priebus of the Republican National Committee. At which meeting, by the way, CNN has sources telling them that Trump has signed the Republican National Committee loyalty pledge. Big, big, big deal.

Yeah, see, they're all worried that Trump wouldn't go support the Republican nominee if it's not him. They're all worried Trump would go third party. If Trump goes third party, that screws everything up because the Democrats win is practically automatic, at least that's been the histoire. So they've been after Trump to sign this pledge. It looks like he signed the pledge, and now they're all waiting for Trump to come out and address the media with the big news that he has signed the pledge.

And like I said moments ago, I happen to think that this is gonna work the other way around. What's happened here is that all of these other Republicans have ended up pledging that they will support Trump if he's the nominee. I don't know that that was the original intent of this, and I don't know how many of these Republicans support Trump. I don't know how much anger there is. There he is. Can we JIP this? Are our microphones there today at Trump Tower? Yeah? Well, let's see what he's saying. He just hit the microphone.

Did they promise no games and to support him?

He had already said he wanted to run as a Republican.

Have they said they will support him if he wins, and they wouldn’t play games to prevent him from winning?

I think Trump must have made them agree to something. He has never been a fool.

I don’t think they promised no games, but if they do now it would backfire.

Rush says the pledge will backfire as all the candidates have now pledged to support Trump if he is the candidate.

And to get nominated at the convention, they have to win 8 primaries. I don’t see any candidate except Trump winning 8 primaries.

Sorry but it looks like to me you are putting words into Rush's mouth that he never said.

I will get back to you if I am wrong

Not silly at all...

In 1996, the leaders of the Republican party accused Pat Buchanan of being the next Hitler after he won the New Hampshire primary.

They trotted out a number of party heavy-weights to do it.

Bob Dole refused to say it wasn’t the truth. Pat Buchanan had been a guest at Dole’s home on a number of occasions. Did Dole mean to admit he was close friends of a man like Hitler?

No, the Republican party is capable of just about anything.

Remember, we agree with the Tea Party. That makes us terrorists according to party muckity mucks.

I would imagine he did. Didn’t he meet with Priebus the other day? There must have been some agreement reached.

I meant that you were being silly to even suggest they would support him if he were the primary winner.

That is strange, the 8 primary rule.

Maybe that’s how they take Trump down. He wins massively, but only wins 7 primaries.

This would throw it wide open, and they could dump Trump.

Maybe that eight figure is hard to best. They know how to triangulate these things.

The current GOPe leadership is so amazingly evil, it wouldn’t surprise me if some of them have discussed bumping Trump off.

Danny, consider how many “home states” there would be with this many candidates. If each of them took their home state, it could be quite difficult for one guy to win eight primaries.
