HUNTSVILLE (September 2, 2015) A Sam Houston State University student under fire for her remarks on social media about a slain Texas deputy has been arrested on an unrelated warrant.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirms Monica Foy was arrested Tuesday night at her home for an assault warrant in Harris County.
"Around 7:30 p.m. our agency received a call from someone making us aware of the warrant. We confirmed it was active. We went to her home and she was taken into custody without any problems," said Lt. Brady Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald couldn't confirm who made the call about the warrant, but says Foy was booked into the Montgomery County jail and was later released on bond.
Foy received national attention after posting a controversial tweet Tuesday morning on her personal account @MonicaFoycan.
The tweet said "I can't believe so many people care about a dead cop and NO ONE has thought to ask what he did to deserve it. He had creepy perv eyes..."
The tweet was published on the website Breitbart.com and Foy was identified as a student at Sam Houston State University.
According to Breitbart.com, the tweet appears to be directed at the recent shooting death of Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth.
Sam Houston State University has received a significant amount of feedback from people upset about Foy's comments on social media.
On Tuesday night the school posted the following statement on its Facebook page:
"SHSU appreciates the enormous public response in support of law enforcement. The university is a leader in educating many people who work in criminal justice and those who protect the civil liberties this country was founded upon, including free speech, whether we agree with that speech or not.
SHSU has a strong Student Code of Conduct. The students remarks will be evaluated to determine if the code was violated following standardized due process. The university has an ongoing commitment to taking actions that strengthen dialog and understanding between our students and the law enforcement community." Several Facebook users claiming to be Sam Houston State alumni have threatened to stop supporting the school if Foy isn't disciplined or removed from campus.
In a separate Facebook post, Sam Houston State University added several photos of police officers hugging students on campus along with this message:
"The individual opinion of a student does not reflect the beliefs of Sam Houston State University or its 20,000 other students. Sam Houston State is renowned internationally for its criminal justice programs and many in Texas law enforcement are proud SHSU alumni. We fully support and are thankful for the men and women who risk their lives every day to protect and serve communities across the nation. We mourn the loss of any officer and in no way condone the recent and senseless violence that has occurred in Texas and across the United States against those who have sworn to protect us."
Since the posting, Foy's Facebook and Twitter count have been shut down.
A prayer service to honor fallen law enforcement officers is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Conroe.
I highly recommend the link in Gamecock’s post.
Pure gold. Lots of folks disagree with the fat mexican pig, which is nice.
She for a fact has never seen creepy perv eyes......some things even a creepy perv eye’d critter won’t look at..... she’s it.
Not as THIS university. Let me clear this up for those who don't know about Sam Houston University at Huntsville, Texas.
The university is known for its Criminal Justice Degree. The reason for this, is, Huntsville is the home for Huntsville State Prison and the worst of the worst are housed there, including all those on death row. They are executed in Huntsville. If you hear a criminal was executed, it happened in Huntsville.
That town is crawling with guards at that prison who live in that town and law enforcement is everywhere. Of all the places in Texas, you will not hear complaints about our law officers in Huntsville and the university turns out more of them every year.
The jerk woman doesn't live in Huntsville, just goes to the university there. It was the Montgomery County Sheriff's guys who arrested her so she lives in Montgomery County that has a border with the county Huntsville is in.
I have lived in Montgomery County many years and it is about 98% Republican. Not one single Democrat holds any county office. Dissing law enforcement in Montgomery County will get you an argument with most any person in that county.
Believe me, that woman has sealed her fate in both counties. She needs to move to Houston where there are people like her.
“Also why would one officer who, Self responded run after 3 suspects into a somewhat remote swampy area-—”
—
Two reasons.
1.Adrenalin
2.Y chromosome.

If she had half a brain she would get outta Texas or transfer to TU at Austin. She’s toast if she doesn’t.
Just visited the link. Those are priceless!
Karma smiled.
That fat heifer didn’t realize social media isn’t “private”?
Being “watched over and taken care of” is a phrase sometimes used to refer to what might happen to someone who has done something right on the edge of illegal and vicious to a LEO-although it usually is a form of venganza used by those involved in love triangles, it could also happen to someone who has let their alligator mouth overload their
hummingbird ass like that heifer did...
Mistake giving this Tub O’ Lard media coverage. Ignore her like she ignores celery.
Bkmrk.
That’s what she changed it to after she deleted her post. I follow some white hat hackers and they were going to ‘make her famous’. ;)
