HUNTSVILLE (September 2, 2015) A Sam Houston State University student under fire for her remarks on social media about a slain Texas deputy has been arrested on an unrelated warrant.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirms Monica Foy was arrested Tuesday night at her home for an assault warrant in Harris County.
"Around 7:30 p.m. our agency received a call from someone making us aware of the warrant. We confirmed it was active. We went to her home and she was taken into custody without any problems," said Lt. Brady Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald couldn't confirm who made the call about the warrant, but says Foy was booked into the Montgomery County jail and was later released on bond.
Foy received national attention after posting a controversial tweet Tuesday morning on her personal account @MonicaFoycan.
The tweet said "I can't believe so many people care about a dead cop and NO ONE has thought to ask what he did to deserve it. He had creepy perv eyes..."
The tweet was published on the website Breitbart.com and Foy was identified as a student at Sam Houston State University.
According to Breitbart.com, the tweet appears to be directed at the recent shooting death of Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth.
Sam Houston State University has received a significant amount of feedback from people upset about Foy's comments on social media.
On Tuesday night the school posted the following statement on its Facebook page:
"SHSU appreciates the enormous public response in support of law enforcement. The university is a leader in educating many people who work in criminal justice and those who protect the civil liberties this country was founded upon, including free speech, whether we agree with that speech or not.
SHSU has a strong Student Code of Conduct. The students remarks will be evaluated to determine if the code was violated following standardized due process. The university has an ongoing commitment to taking actions that strengthen dialog and understanding between our students and the law enforcement community." Several Facebook users claiming to be Sam Houston State alumni have threatened to stop supporting the school if Foy isn't disciplined or removed from campus.
In a separate Facebook post, Sam Houston State University added several photos of police officers hugging students on campus along with this message:
"The individual opinion of a student does not reflect the beliefs of Sam Houston State University or its 20,000 other students. Sam Houston State is renowned internationally for its criminal justice programs and many in Texas law enforcement are proud SHSU alumni. We fully support and are thankful for the men and women who risk their lives every day to protect and serve communities across the nation. We mourn the loss of any officer and in no way condone the recent and senseless violence that has occurred in Texas and across the United States against those who have sworn to protect us."
Since the posting, Foy's Facebook and Twitter count have been shut down.
A prayer service to honor fallen law enforcement officers is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Conroe.
Actually, what she said has an antecedent. The irony is that it was horrifically misogynistic “joke.”
It went something like this ...
A girl is found brutally beaten with half her teeth knocked out and with broken ribs. The cop who found her wondered what she could have said to deserve such a beat down.
Who knew Al Capone had a grand-daughter? (or maybe great grand-daughter?)
SHSU has a strong Student Code of Conduct. The students remarks will be evaluated to determine if the code was violated following standardized due process.
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life(and ugly). However.
Political correctness works both ways.
Whoa!
That would make a steam engine take a dirt road.
“That same day, she tweeted support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.” Brietbart
SHE'S commenting on people's looks? Okay....
She was so big, children orbited her.
5.56mm
I’m willing to bet she’s a contrary responder. If everybody is sympathetic a contrary responder will say the first unsympathetic thing that comes to mind, then they’ll back it up with something dumb or irrelevant to illustrate their point.
If I said something was white my father would instantly insist it was black. If the conversation went further he’d come up with the irrelevant detail that he felt corroborated his position. This only got worse as he aged.
Monica Foy.
Maybe family and close friends of the dead cop and go have a private meeting with this individual.
She’s so fat I had to roll her in flour and look for the wet spot. And if you wanna do her you just gotta slap her thigh and ride the wave in.
Now I’m not saying she’s fat, her high school picture was an aerial photograph.

Sam Houston State has a Criminal Justice Department with a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate programs, she’s likely done with school at that university.
Guilty, ........ we’re lookin’ for a charge.
Ok the "tweet" was not the reason for her arrest. My take this was an outstanding warrant.
I bet stuffing her in the back of the cruiser was no picnic.
That would make a imam hug a ham.
An outstanding warrant someone really really really wanted to find and act on......wink wink
OK by me.
