OK, first of all, I didn't watch her show tonight and don't know if I ever will. Anyway, had more important things to do such as my project retaining wall in my front yard.

Anyway, saw the link on Drudge regarding her interview with Ted Cruz tonight and opened it to watch it.

My question: Is it me or did Miz Kelly come off (and look like) as a snotty b***h towards Ted Cruz?

She looked evil tonight!

I am not endorsing either Will or Krauthammer as perfect conservatives, I am criticizing the tendency on these boards to exalt those with whom they agree today as oracles and to attack those with whom they disagree today as villains.

I am also criticizing the tendency on these boards to denigrate anything that smacks of criticism of Donald Trump. Consider as an example what is right before our eyes now, I am accused of living in the GOPe World when it is Donald Trump who has endorsed Democrats, financed Democrats, voted for Democrats, who has supported abortion, supported single-payer medical care, who has advocated higher income taxes at least twice.

So the inevitable happens, the tactic is turned on fellow conservatives on these boards. No one who dares criticize the Donald is safe from this mindless cannibalism.

Exactly right. Trump couldn't have been any nicer to him, especially when the asshole wouldn't stop talking over Trumps attempts to answer.

I can dig deep into my remote hard drive and resurrect posts filed long before Donald Trump declared to the effect that the Republican who can marshal the populist anti-immigrants pro-jobs issue and combine it with trade can not only win this election but make the country safe for Republicans for a generation.

I agree with your general premise. Donald Trump is, as I have said many times, the wrong messenger with the right message. But I have to concede that no one has been able to drive home the message like Donald Trump. We owe him that much but we do not owe him mass suicide, we do not owe him the obligation to actually drink the Kool-Aid.

In this context let me point out that many of Donald Trump's position are entirely congruent with the positions of Thom Hartmann including trade. We conservatives should be very sure of what we are getting in Donald Trump. I am not suggesting that he is a Manchurian candidate, but I am suggesting that he has no conservative philosophy, he is an egoist who will operate ad hoc. He will come down on some issues in a way that makes us happy but he is very likely to make us very unhappy elsewhere.

Right now Donald Trump is breaking a lot of progressive and establishment china and that is all to the good… but is he a bull in a china shop?

Neither Will nor Krauthammer is a god whose utterances may not be questioned by lesser mortals.

Your judging him guilty of what was good business for a businessman rules out the successful and makes righteous only the purely politic, GOPe your savior by default.

Trump is a crude & unsteady instrument, for sure. I agree with you. Yet, we are in such dire straits that I suspect many voters on the right & in the middle are ready to grasp onto him. I can’t find my way to condemn them for that. If we get 60% of what a president Trump promises then that, in my opinion, is enough....

I’m still with Cruz, but he has not shown an ability to get any real traction in the polls. I suspect he would make a great president....I just don’t see how he can get the nomination at this point.

I believe we are not yet at a point where absolute leadership in the polls is conclusive. We have a long way to go before Iowa and New Hampshire and anything can happen, especially with a Donald Trump speaking ad lib. every day.

But I do share your frustration about Cruz' lack of traction. I was hoping that it would be clear to conservatives that the alternative to Jeb Bush need not be Donald Trump, it could be Ted Cruz. Put another way, the choice is no longer Jeb Bush or Donald Trump because Bush is rapidly writing himself out of the equation. If you believe that it's too late for Cruz, it is certainly too late for Jeb who has nothing going for himself now except money.

Somehow the equation has become only Donald Trump can defeat GOPe, an assertion with which I disagree. I think Cruz has demonstrated his bona fides in taking on the establishment whereas Trump has talked a good game on some issues but not on others and, above all, he has also slept with them.

To my disgust I see Jeb is ahead of Cruz, by a small margin, in most polls, not all, but most....and this lack of traction by Cruz has been a constant worry for me because it seems intractable. Trump, well, he hits so many cultural points that Americans value: Alpha male, billionaire, TV star, looks fearless....sort of just the kind of guy riding in on a white horse that Americans love.

And underneath all Trump’s bravado there’s a quirky, very intelligent guy lurking there. People sense that. He’s not going away like the elite think. I have a friend who worked for Trump, very closely, for several years. Seen him most every day....and he loves the guy. Tells stories of a very sensitive & fair boss who is nothing like the guy we see on TV.

I hope your friend's character assessment of Donald Trump is accurate.

To address the point made by okie01, a man who would be president owes the country an effort to edify rather than denigrate. I accept that politics ain't beanbag and that a candidate has got to fight his corner. I made the same point going the other way, that Megan Kelly came to a debate when many Trump fans were expecting a game of beanbag. They cannot have it both ways, if Trump is going to dish it out he should be expected to take it as well.

Right now Trump does not have the most important office in the world but he does have the responsibility of being the leader in the polls in the Republican contest for the nomination. How he conducts himself in that role should tell us something about how he will conduct himself as president.

Conservatives ought to think about Trump as president of the whole nation responsible for its defense but with his finger only inches away from the red button, not only as an avenging angel breathing murder and fire on the GOPe but as a moral and holistic leader of a country.

No, I disagree. I think asking Trump about his behavior and the way he responds to people is a legitimate question. We have to trust that our President won’t fly off the handle and make a mistake under pressure because he can’t control himself. Asking a candidate about his character is legitimate and not necessarily a personal attack.

But when you take quotes out of context and slant an entire question to dishonestly impugn a person’s character, THAT is a personal attack.

I understand and share your frustration that the candidates weren’t asked much about their positions in the debate. Most of us already are well aware of Trump’s character flaws and now want to hear what positions he takes. Nonetheless, asking him about his REAL character flaws is legitimate. Inventing false ones, such as misogyny, is not.

Maybe that's possible. But she doesn't strike me as someone who meekly follows orders that she doesn't agree with.

When in a debate Cruz says "Well I introduced a bill . . ." NO! People hear that and think "That's part of the problem! Nothing gets DONE."

We won't know unless/until he becomes pres, but the impression is that he will get things done. Here's an example: the IRS thing. Congress holds hearings. Nothing. A pres Trump would have at the very least since he couldn't fire Lois Lerner, he would turn the justice department loose on her but transfer her to Pigs Knuckles Arkansas in the meantime.

I was watching and was also watching her do the same in 2012... I remembered and never trusted her when she got this show on Fox.. they gave her the prime 9 pm slot.. and they have babied her on Fox ever since. The men go gaga over megyn and the rest follow suit because they know their job is in jeopardy. Bret gave a solid salute to megyn last night on his news show.. I used to admire and respect Bret... I’ve since changed my mind. He, too, is on megyn’s side. I don’t know anyone on Fox who does like Trump... Aisles has set the standard for keeping one’s job, I guess. Or they all are GOP establishment thinkers and belong to that elite club... the one The Donald is making null and void.

The people who are conservatives and do not like Trump.. they have a reason that goes way past his being a democrat and giving money to the dems... they don’t mention he also gave to the republicans.

I can’t help but a liken Megyn to Nancy Grace. When she first came on TV she was a pretty, feminine go getter. Now she is a cheap looking bulldog. I cannot even stand to watch a commercial she is on.
I still see nothing wrong with a women being a wife and mother. True beauty comes from within : )
