From Gabriel Sherman writing for New York Magazine: When it comes to dealing with rogue states, Fox News has a firm editorial philosophy: You dont negotiate. Roger Ailes is learning that the same logic applies to a rogue candidate. Last night, Donald Trump took to Twitter and blew up the uneasy truce Ailes had brokered with him two weeks ago following Trumps attacks on Fox star Megyn Kelly after the first GOP debate.

YIKES...I missed the end. As soon as she started gassing ab out her “dreamy” (SIC) husband I went to a different channel.
He already DID do that !
Thought
Trump challenges Megan as a poor journalist
Cruz refuses to answer a question as being a liberal’s
How many other candidates will refuse to appear on her show.
Without the top drawing candidates her ratings already suffering will tank
Poor MEgin
ABSOLUTELY! It was some kind of MISS, to miss CNN tonight. You are correct. CNN took the ratings and the money and covered Trump’s speech with no cut away, and following the Trump presser and speech, they had THREE conservative leaners do a fine job against Maria Cordova, while host, Don Lemon, was very favorable and defending of Trump. I was shocked. (I’ve been shocked a lot lately!)
CNN was just FINE all night long on the subject of Trump. Hope their ratings prove it. They needed the bump.
Haven’t watched Megyn since debate night! Always sorry to hear that others have, actually.
What a nice thought! Excellent (and comforting) analysis!
Fox really makes no sense. I’ve never seen a so called news organization respond to a politician’s slams. People have slammed the NY Times, rightfully so, yet I’ve never seen them personally respond. Cronkite didn’t do it.
I guess it’s the first time a candidate has gotten back into their faces and they don’t know how to respond. In Trump’s case, Fox needs him for the ratings. If they can’t get him to come on then they’ll have a feud with him and hope to get people to tune it to see what they’re going to say next.
Bottom line, they need and want Trump but only if he allows them to attempt to destroy him.
CNN are fools if they don’t run with it. Trump supporters will watch CNN if Trump is on. Ailes knows that so he’s between a rock and a hard place. He needs to tell his slut dressing reporter to “tone it down” so they can get Trump back on. Otherwise CNN is going to overtake them and I think that would be funny.
MSNBC as well especially with Morning Joe. Nature abhors a vacuum...
She started it with a nasty Trump tweet before the show. Trump responded and he is right to do so.
I stayed with CNN and the commentary was balanced - to a point. Giving them a chance, it got leftier and leftier as the time elapsed. It’s going to take them a long time to get it to where it even sounds even handed.
Fox is going to lose this battle big time.
I watch One America News now. They carried the entire Trump speech in Iowa last night with no interruptions.
ROFLMAO!
Well Trump let him back in .....well that is the way to go. Spank him and if he promises to behave let him back in. Way to go Trump.
Yes, this just screams intellect, journalistic integrity and ethics that are so, so essential to her tradecraft. Her ‘instrument’ if you will.
Hey kids, Santa and Jesus are white. Got it. Deal with it.
I watched CNN, last night, and noticed that as well (started off good, then got leftier as time elapsed). I thought they did a fine job, until they started covering the dims...and went all gushy :)
Turned it off, then.
I mentioned here on FR about a year ago that I no longer watch FNC except Special Report - and I keep a jaundiced eye focused on that.
The media is complicit in the overthrow of the Constitution and decency!
I see a very simple solution: Trump just ignore FAUX totally, go to the other networks as he did the week-end following the fiasco debate that Thursday evening. He will get his agenda out OK. Roger Ailes will come crawling back like he did the following Monday. The two other moderators need also to be admonished as well as BOR!!!
