As the truth about Planned Parenthood is revealed to those who believed it was simply a womens healthcare organization, people are turning away, disassociating themselves with a baby parts trafficking business which even harvests organs from born alive infants.
Today, Arkansas State Representative Mike Holcomb joined the list of defectors by leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party.
Holcomb, from Pine Bluff, a two-term legislator, said:
"Ive chosen to join the Republican Party because I firmly believe that the conservative values they represent best align with my own personal beliefs and convictions.
I believe in the sanctity of life. I believe in traditional marriage. I believe in helping Arkansans."
He noted in his remarks that the recent Democratic Party of Arkansas stance regarding Planned Parenthood and the state of Arkansas previous funding, which Gov. Asa Hutchinson called to end, was cited as a major reason for Holcombs switch.
Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, who recently defunded Planned Parenthood as part of the growing list of states that are distancing themselves from financially participating with the abortion giant, was at the press conference Thursday where Holcomb announced the switch and said that its not possible for Arkansas Democrats, who may think themselves more conservative, to separate themselves from the national Democratic party on issues such as abortion.
Of course, Arkansas Democrats werent happy. Democratic Party of Arkansas chairman Vince Insalaco issued a statement that shows the continued ignorance of what Planned Parenthood is all about when he pulled the health care card from the worn deck:
If standing against womens health care including Pap smears, breast cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, prenatal checkups, or the equality of all Arkansans is important to Rep. Holcomb, then hes found a good home in the Republican Party of Arkansas.
Of course Insalaco proves he doesnt know about the programs he supports, since every service Planned Parenthood offers apart from abortion is available at low or no cost clinics nationwide, including in his own state. Reducing Holcombs switch to some narrow-minded decision to steal health care from women is not a surprising attack, but its also not a true one.
Holcomb has done what those with a conscience must do when seeing the truth behind the pink Planned Parenthood shingle: run. Holcomb, who serves District 10, has spent 28 years in public education and is a past Jefferson County judge. He is vice chairman of the House Committee on Public Transportation.
Its becoming apparent that Holcomb will be just one of the first to leave the party that is supporting bloodshed, fetal parts harvesting and now, as we have seen, infanticide.
Rat Holcomb finding new cheese?
DEFUND it you POS and PAY UP. YOU DID BUILD THIS
This (the executive branch and CONgre$$) is the most evil government in the history of the republic, after what has been revealed to us about Planned Pre-Meditated Pulling Apart Babies for Profit. We are FORCED to pay for these deceivers this death cult.
Plunder and death the calling cards of criminals, socialists, totalitarians and satanists.
ZERO REPRESENTATION on fundamental aspects of life, liberty and the slaughter of the innocent.
BUMP
I’m told this man has always been prolife. Sometimes you have to fight from inside the belly of the beast, no?
It’s been crystal clear for some time that true pro-lifers have no place in the democrat party, not even in the South.
The recent PP revelation only further crystallizes the matter. I suppose Holcomb will be seen by many as an opportunist, but in fact he has been principled on this issue all along. Well, with both the Democrat and Republican parties hijacked by ideologues and self-empowering career politicians, it is no wonder the Tea Party has arisen and gained strength.
He wouldn’t have been a trailblazer, he simply would’ve lost running as a Republican, lucky to get 25-40% of the vote. Outside of urban districts with a population of Blacks and White leftists, SE AR is where virtually all of the remaining Democrats in the legislature hail from (it’s a poor backwater with a large Black population).
By 2020, those remaining rural White majority districts (such as the one this gentleman represents) will be electing Republicans at the legislative level (they’ve already gone GOP at the Presidential, Congressional and top Statewide offices level).
I don’t know the man’s voting record, presumably it’s been typical of a lot of the rural White Democrats (centrist). He’s only been in the legislature since Jan 2013 (there’s a three-term limit, so he can only run again one more time in the House).
Better late than never.
“....Hope to see more “defections,” as it were.”
Absolutely! And that goes for the rank and file registered Dems as well.
