As the truth about Planned Parenthood is revealed to those who believed it was simply a womens healthcare organization, people are turning away, disassociating themselves with a baby parts trafficking business which even harvests organs from born alive infants.
Today, Arkansas State Representative Mike Holcomb joined the list of defectors by leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party.
Holcomb, from Pine Bluff, a two-term legislator, said:
"Ive chosen to join the Republican Party because I firmly believe that the conservative values they represent best align with my own personal beliefs and convictions.
I believe in the sanctity of life. I believe in traditional marriage. I believe in helping Arkansans."
He noted in his remarks that the recent Democratic Party of Arkansas stance regarding Planned Parenthood and the state of Arkansas previous funding, which Gov. Asa Hutchinson called to end, was cited as a major reason for Holcombs switch.
Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, who recently defunded Planned Parenthood as part of the growing list of states that are distancing themselves from financially participating with the abortion giant, was at the press conference Thursday where Holcomb announced the switch and said that its not possible for Arkansas Democrats, who may think themselves more conservative, to separate themselves from the national Democratic party on issues such as abortion.
Of course, Arkansas Democrats werent happy. Democratic Party of Arkansas chairman Vince Insalaco issued a statement that shows the continued ignorance of what Planned Parenthood is all about when he pulled the health care card from the worn deck:
If standing against womens health care including Pap smears, breast cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, prenatal checkups, or the equality of all Arkansans is important to Rep. Holcomb, then hes found a good home in the Republican Party of Arkansas.
Of course Insalaco proves he doesnt know about the programs he supports, since every service Planned Parenthood offers apart from abortion is available at low or no cost clinics nationwide, including in his own state. Reducing Holcombs switch to some narrow-minded decision to steal health care from women is not a surprising attack, but its also not a true one.
Holcomb has done what those with a conscience must do when seeing the truth behind the pink Planned Parenthood shingle: run. Holcomb, who serves District 10, has spent 28 years in public education and is a past Jefferson County judge. He is vice chairman of the House Committee on Public Transportation.
Its becoming apparent that Holcomb will be just one of the first to leave the party that is supporting bloodshed, fetal parts harvesting and now, as we have seen, infanticide.
If all 600+ pp buildings closed, there’d still be, oh, 13,000+ low cost/no costclinics that would and do cater to women.
A good move and for the better, now if the conservatives could only get rid of the establishment DC elitists who care for nothing.
We the People need to declare our Independence from this govt pronto!
Now 63 GOP out of 100

Make the fool prove himself.
I never understand how abortion is some holy grail of “women’s health”. To liberals if you oppose abortion you oppose women getting health care. How do they get away with this??
I guess its better that he switched than if he didn’t, but spare me the fake outrage. He damn well knew this was going on before he saw the pictures. He’s just upset that the public now knows.
Exactly...he was a proud Democrat, why would the GOP want him? Oh, wait....that’s who the GOP is now. Screw ‘em all.
Baffling how the practice of abortion has become so insulated from the public conscience over the past century. The slippery slope began with the promotion of so-called birth control.
Decades of lazy public schools and lazy parents for starters.
Very well. If not the fear of God, at least fear of a public who fears God. No one who espouses abortion in any way is fit to serve in public office in the first place. They ought to be deprived not only of office, but of pulling the levers of self-government.
I don’t see why.
The GOP isn’t going to do a thing about it.
If standing against womens health care including Pap smears, breast cancer screenings
*********************************************************************
P.P.’s “breast cancer screenings” consists of referring women to other clinics that actually have mammogram equipment because no P.P. facility in the whole country has any such equipment.
P.P.’s other claim, that abortion is only 3% of their business, is nothing but a damn’d lie. They are murder inc.
So, this fellow finally moved out his cave on the moon and found out the rats love abortion! Good for him.
OurCampaigns has it as 64. The GOP won 64 to 36 in Nov 2014 but some third (final) term Republican member switched to Independent in June, so this brings it back up to 64 again (Dems 35 and the 1 I).
Today, Arkansas State Representative Mike Holcomb joined the list of defectors by leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party.
Like the changes anything!
The GOP leaders are all in for planned parenthood as they are liberal leftist democrats in the first place.
Because the local Republican Party in Eastern AR (especially SE AR) was weak to non-existent until the last few years. With his switch, he becomes the Southeasternmost Republican member of the AR House.
