Though Fox News hosts remained largely silent during Donald Trump's first spat with Megyn Kelly, the channel's personalities were quick to defend their colleague Tuesday morning after Trump again decided to ridicule Kelly.
Trump had patched up his relationship with Fox after commenting that Kelly "had blood coming out of her wherever" during the first Republican presidential debate. However, on Monday night he said Kelly was "off her game" upon returning from vacation. He also retweeted a comment calling Kelly a "bimbo."
During "Fox and Friends" on Tuesday morning, co-host Brian Kilmeade said Trump's tweets attacking Kelly were "totally out of control" and "unwarranted."
"You cannot, you should not be going after her," he said. "He is totally out of bounds reigniting that fight. I don't know if he expects to get ratings out of that, or poll numbers, but he's not going to be successful."
Numerous hosts and contributors on Fox News followed suit with tweets defending Kelly and calling out Trump's retweet of a comment calling Kelly a "bimbo."

While I support Trump, his personal attacks are troubling and unseemly. He risks his campaign with these; even if there is a game plan for these, I think some people won’t get or appreciate it.
it worries me a little. He doesn’t let these things go. I broke the record for loudest screams at a TV during the debate because of the way they treated Trump. however, I don’t know how presidential it appears to keep picking fights with basically very unimportant people. and whether we like it or not, women aren’t going to take kindly to someone who keeps calling women bimbos. but I could be wrong. It happens often.
Yes, she was snickering along with that other clown who gets it all wrong week after week after week about Trump. Her CONtributor guest is an idiot.
Trump Responds to Ailes
UPDATE (1:37 p.m.):
In a statement, Trump said he “totally disagrees” with Ailes and said he does not think Kelly is a “quality journalist”:
“I totally disagree with the FOX statement. I do not think Megyn Kelly is a quality journalist. I think her questioning of me, despite all of the polls saying I won the debate, was very unfair. Hopefully in the future I will be proven wrong and she will be able to elevate her standards to a level of professionalism that a network such as FOX deserves. “ Trump said.
Trump said that what’s more improtant are his high poll numbers.
“More importantly, I am very pleased to see the latest polls from Public Policy Polling showing me at a strong number one with 35% in New Hampshire, the Monmouth University poll showing me, again at number one, with 30% in South Carolina and the latest national poll from Gravis where I am again the clear front runner with 40%. It was also just announced that I won the prestigious corn kernel poll at the Iowa State Fair by a landslide,” he added. “I will be in Iowa tonight with my speech being live on CNN and other networks. My sole focus in running for the Presidency is to Make America Great Again!”
“Trump is starting to look like a petulant child.” -———
And, FOX is starting to look like an agent for Megyn Kelly, Jeb Bush and the Establishment agenda.
Who knew?
I love the way Trump justs breaks those who come against him.
John McCain.
Linda Graham.
Jeb Bush.
Rand Paul.
Megyn Kelly.
Bret Baier.
Chris Wallace.
Charles Krauthammer.
George Will.
Erick Erickson.
Keep racking ‘em up Donald.
If it were not for you, we would not be talking about our corrupt Congress, China, Mexico, illegal aliens, faux birthright citizenship, building a wall on the southern border, how bad the Iran deal really is, etc.
All in a little more than two months’ time.
I agree that Trump should move on but what he said about Megyn Crowley is totally true. She is an unprofessional bimbo. She ain’t that bright either. Roger Ailes has no choice but to stand up for her since he’s paying her God knows how much and had to bend a knee to Trump to keep his ratings from cratering.
Maybe next time Megyn will watch her mouth IF she ever gets to moderate again. That was Ailes first mistake. Ever letting her moderate in the first place.
EXZZZZACTLY!
Instead of preoccupying ourselves about whether Donald Trump is naughty or nice or whether Megan Kelly is chaste or not, we ought to satisfy ourselves about Donald Trump's alleged conservatism, his populism, and his progressivism.
We ought to be asking ourselves whether Donald Trump is closer to Ronald Reagan or to Ralph Nader? There is evidence that in some important respects he echoes the policies of Ralph Nader and Thom Hartmann.

Shannon - a graduate of conservative Liberty University - is obviously conservative. Not sure about Harris, but I like what I've seen of her on FNC.. The "Fox Report" every Sunday at 7pm ET, and daily on "Outnumbered".
Nah it’s going to hurt at all. This small stuff is way overblown and overrated by Trump’s critics. It blows over fast and then we are onto the next news cycle. Trump keeps blowing away the munchkins in the field. He’s not going anywhere but up the polls.
Well done Trump!!!!
Kelly also abused Walker on the abortion question during the debate. ‘What about the life of the mother exception...’
Notice she did not have the guts to pose that question to Ben Carson. After 20 weeks, we have c - section. After 20 weeks, even as a completely secular matter-— the life exception for the mother is specious.
Kelly wants to push the lib social agenda and apologize for planned parenthood.
You actually watched her show?
Yikes!
“Nah its [not] going to hurt at all.”
What is missed in all this is that the debates were very unprofessionally managed, not just the evening debate, but both of them. And not just Megyn but all of the moderators were embarrassing.
Most of the candidates, however, presented themselves well. Most of them refused to take the bait thrown at them or waste time responding to the dumber questions asked.
I don’t think O’Reilly is that bright either. His researchers do all the work for him.
The Donald should at this point smile and simply walk away from faux for good. Give the ratings and subsequent advertising revenue to their competitors.
This presidential race is too important to get caught up in this nonsense and with these children. I would also question how much of a ‘friend’ Roger Ailes really is to Trump.
And when Kelly vomits out more lies and half-truths about Trump, just ignore it. FOX is dead to many of us, the Trump camp should consider FOX dead to them as well.
