Business mogul Donald Trump told CNN Wednesday House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should have sought to impeach President Bush when she had the chance.
In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Trump said the president and his administration deliberately lied about the Iraq war, and congressional Democrats missed an opportunity to impeach him when the party took control of Congress in 2006.
"I was surprised that she didn't do more in terms of Bush and going after Bush," Trump said. "It was almost - it just seemed like she was going to really look to impeach Bush and get him out of office, which personally I think would have been a wonderful thing."
Pressed why he feels Bush deserved the punishment faced by only two other commanders-in-chief, Trump said the president misled the country in the run-up to the Iraq war, and that his actions were considerably more objectionable than those which led to the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.
"He lied. He got us into the war with lies," Trump said. And I mean - look at the trouble Bill Clinton got into with something that was totally unimportant. And they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense. And yet Bush got us into this horrible war with lies, by lying, by saying they had weapons of mass destruction, by saying all sorts of things that turned out not to be true."

Thank you for explaining the Orwellian doublethink on Bush’s WMD that continues to make well-meaning conservatives look insane.
Trump is and always has been a douchebag.
I would’ve liked to throw him out of office too. Bush was a fiscal liberal! He added trillions of dollars to the debt, and he ruined the Republican Brand and gave us Barack Obama.
Dick Cheney would’ve been a much better president.
I have no idea what Trump was thinking during the 1998 Lewinsky debacle. Do you?
Yeah
This helps explain why Trump is so hated by the GOP establishment.
By the way, Trump wanted Bush impeached, but did not want Clinton and Obama impeached. How do you explain that? Bush was liberal, but Clinton and Obama were right wing choir boys?
Busted.
He doesn’t say Clinton was a good president, but the best in his lifetime.
I remember the Bush 43 presidency well. GOPe president and GOPe congress. And nothing changed. More debt, more liberalism. More bs.
Bush was a disaster for the country as well as for the Republican Party. Then he asked me about Barack Obama. I told him that Barack will need to be a great president because were in serious trouble as a country. It hasnt been this way since 1929. So he doesnt have much choicehe will simply have to be great, which he has a very good chance of being. What he has done is amazing. The fact that he accomplished what he hasin one year and against great oddsis truly phenomenal. If someone had asked me if a black man or woman could become president, I would have said yes, but not yet. Barack Obama proved that determination combined with opportunity and intelligence can make things happenand in an exceptional way. He is not walking into an easy or enviable situation. As of October of 2008, the U.S. government reported a $237 billion deficit. The good news is that Obama seems to be well aware of the situation. His comments have led me to believe that he understands how the economy works on a comprehensive level. He has also surrounded himself with very competent people, and thats the mark of a strong leader.
Pound away at this.
I wish I had thought of what you posted.
I really do.
LOL Are you a professional Dodge Ball player?
If he had any negative thoughts about it, do you think the man who could never shut up about it, wouldn't have said something? Shortly after that he left the Republican Party, so he must have been okay with it.
By the way, on a thread a few weeks ago, Trump supporters were praising Trump for having his troop of concubines AIDS tested. So Trump has actually gotten Freepers to now support Clinton behavior.
Trump has always been a republican.
LOL, no I just remember defending Bush until I was blue in the face on WMDs and then he said “there were no WMDs, sorry” and I slowly realized I was defending a complete liberal who was not even a Christian, who was also shoving Amnesty down out throats...
... and who was funding Planned Parenthood along with his pal Rove through 2008.
(And that includes selling dead baby parts.)
Now that we know they HAD the WMDs and Rove and Bush kept quiet about it and helped usher in Obama, in retrospect I wouldn’t have cared if they had impeached his butt. Plus, we wouldn’t even be speaking Jeb’s name now.
With that said, this is just another case of going back as far as they can to find something that will hurt Trump. Sorta’ like Kelly bringing up Rosie O’Donnell.
Jumping to conclusions while conveniently forgetting how Bush and Clinton are sisters/brothers of another mother....
Bush=Clinton

Here’s what a “conservative” is supposed to be?
* Doing his very best to destroy American sovereignty by melding America into Mexico into Canada???
* George W. Bush (43): “I looked the man in the eye. I was able to get a sense of his soul.
I knew that President Putin was a man with whom I could work.”
* Did nothing when his wife called a homosexual partner’s mom the “mother-in-law” ???
* Allowed the new Iraqi constitution to have a clause where no law would contradict Islam.
* Wanted to sell US port operations to Dubai - a nation that supports terror.
* Advocates a completely open border - to the detriment of national security.
* Calls the Minutemen “vigilantes”.
* Continually calls Islam a “religion of peace”.
* Pursues “free trade”, not fair trade. “Free trade” has not been very fair, so far.
* Supported Specter over Toomey.
* Told Hush to host Specter with softballs, and then Hush carries the water.
* Continually supported Linc Chaffee, and what did it win in the long run?
* Let Ted Kennedy write the education bill.
* Did nothing to rein in pork barrel government spending.
* In an exclusive interview with ABC News’ Charles Gibson, Bush said he believes that both Christians and Muslims worship the same God. “I think we do. We have different routes of getting to the Almighty,” Bush said.

* Bosh said he would do the TARP all over AGAIN!!! I guess he has no problem using communism to try to rescue the free market... (Nov. 12, 2010).
I’m listing the actions of the PRESIDENT (Bush), FYI.
From: Avoiding_Sulla “You can add to the list:”
* never enforced the Beck decision as he had promised.
So that meant that for eight more long years the Dems got funding from unions to which they were not entitled. Republicans who were members of a union (whether they wanted to be or not) could still not effectively withhold that part of their union dues (under fair accounting standards) used to support the Democratic Party and its candidates and its associated NGOs.
Subsequent to that non-performance, we have to endure
1) the unions trying to force card check on all American workers.
2) Harry Reid is about to force a vote in the lameduck session that forces all firemen and police into unions in every municipality no maatter their wishes nor the wishes of the local citizens. That is all tied to the unions having excess money stolen from non-democratic party members over .
* Enforced rules of engagement on our armed forces that bore a remarkable resemblance to police dept policies in any city ruled by liberals.
* Nominated his personal attorney, Janet Myers, to the Supreme Court.
In 2008 when this was written Trump didn’t know they’d found the WMDs either.
And remember this?
