Business mogul Donald Trump told CNN Wednesday House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should have sought to impeach President Bush when she had the chance.
In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Trump said the president and his administration deliberately lied about the Iraq war, and congressional Democrats missed an opportunity to impeach him when the party took control of Congress in 2006.
"I was surprised that she didn't do more in terms of Bush and going after Bush," Trump said. "It was almost - it just seemed like she was going to really look to impeach Bush and get him out of office, which personally I think would have been a wonderful thing."
Pressed why he feels Bush deserved the punishment faced by only two other commanders-in-chief, Trump said the president misled the country in the run-up to the Iraq war, and that his actions were considerably more objectionable than those which led to the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.
"He lied. He got us into the war with lies," Trump said. And I mean - look at the trouble Bill Clinton got into with something that was totally unimportant. And they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense. And yet Bush got us into this horrible war with lies, by lying, by saying they had weapons of mass destruction, by saying all sorts of things that turned out not to be true."

Nope. The WMDs were indeed promoted at the time. Were you perhaps watching CNN? That would explain why you weren’t aware.
I do agree that WMDs were not the whole story, and in retrospect, it wasn’t a great idea to go in.
I wouldn't go so far as to say she's Trump's master, but the fact Trump is close friends of the Clintons is a bit unsettling.
there were WMD in Iraq. if you go over all the news reports at the time a picture appears of what happen to the weapons. weeks before we invaded a convoy of vehicles carried most of the chemical weapons over to Syria.when we invaded traces of theses weapons were found all over the coutry in most cases the intelligence agencys were able to put a tight lid on it. At least three tines embedded reporters were there when munitions were found and were able to make reports of the finds during the invasion. in most cases the government had an idea where these sights were and when they were captured no reporters were around. all that was ever found at theses sites were the remains of the stock pile that somehow managed not to be in the convoy to Syria.. eventually months after the invasion Israel bombed the site containing the weapons from Iraq. years later Assad or terrists would get a hold of what survived the attack by Israel and use it on civilians.
also Iraq had a program to convince the world he had a Nuclear weapon and had been caught a year befor the invasion buying yellow cake a nucler ore that when processed correctly can create the fissionable material for a bomb.
This all need to be said when ever anyone claims there was no reason to go into Iraq or when people claim bush lied about the weapons
2008 is pre 2011. Nothing Trump said, did, or believed before then is relevant whatsoever. Only what he says and does and claims to believe now that he wants to be President is important.
I didn't say the WMDs weren't A reason, I said they were never the ONLY reason.
You might as well include me, since I don’t see much to disagree with. Sure, Bush talked the talk on life issues, in the feeble, half-assed way we expect from our favorite Republicans who secretly sell us out, but wasn’t the Bush presidency mostly an execution of a liberal agenda?
Messianic “democracy” exported abroad at gunpoint? Check.
Big Government, with insanely out-of-control spending and a truly terrifying advance for the all-powerful police state? Check.
Standard pieties about the wonderfulness of “diversity” and our favorite “religion of peace”? Check.
As far as I’m concerned, Dubya was a disaster for the Constitution and a dream come true for any and all on the government teat. The fact that any “conservative” could still back him just goes to show how lost, corrupted, and stupid our politics have become since the days of Reagan, when movement conservatism still existed.
From everything I’ve heard, GWB is a fine man personally. He is decent and a gentleman, considerate, conscientious, and not greedy. I’ll give him that. As a president, he chose to overlook the criminality of the Clinton administration he succeeded, and then after 9/11, to be bullied and suckered by the neocon mafia, with catastrophic consequences for this country and for Christianity in the Middle East, which I will not soon forget.
“there were WMD in Iraq.”
Yes, but Bush never released the classified reports showing the WMD capabilities. For some strange reason he decided to withhold those reports to support his WMD position.
2005 would have been better.
There were 4400 dead heroes, 32 000+ maimed, and trillions pissed away in Iraq for nothing.
Who gives a sh*t about some crappy gas?
Oh, come on.
Obviously, it would be pointless to argue with you so I’ll just say, I disagree.
He’s careful to hit the GOP and those who are the greatest threat to Hillary! and her supporters especially hard. Hillary! and the Dems get a pass. Why?
The VA is looking for the boots who got there and they need medical treatment.

Classified makes perfect sense when Bush or supporters said history will prove him right.
