Teachers heading back to the classroom will be adding renewable energy to the curriculum to mold future energy leaders to save the planet, thanks to a summer training program run by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Smithsonian Science Education Academies for Teachers.
By teaching the teacher, events like this one make a powerful impact on public understanding of Americas energy needs, states a back-to-school announcement [1]posted on the DOE website earlier this month.
This years academy has just graduated a pool of motivated teachers, ready to arm the next generation of energy leaders to save the planet! said the DOE [1].

They can start be taking out the schools air conditioners, disconnecting from the grid and user solar, wind and compost to heat and light.
The problem is they are pushing the partial solution like it is THE solution.
We need another technology leap in energy, but I don’t like the indoctrination.
It seems the Federal Government is all over School
Reminds me of a song my mother had to sing when she was in elementary school back in Mussolini’s Italy.
Fascisti avanti!
La camicia nera,
E un simbolo,
Della vita scheda!
Translation:
Fascists forward!
The black shirt,
Is a symbol,
Of the ordered life!
With Common Core, they already started.
Load those children up with responsibility to save earth and all the endangered animals, along with guilt that we have too much of the eart’s dwindling resources, and then wonder why there are thousands of children on medication for mental illness and thousands committ suicide.
The Left wants power, so to hell with the most sensitive children. “If you want an omelet, you have to break some eggs.” These are the same people who see nothing wrong with taking the brain out of a living preborn baby and selling it.
K
Get your precious children out of schools run by the ungodly.
And they’re using public dollars mostly contributed by the productive/employed to essentially fund political activity. That’s a no-no, or is supposed to be.
When they start teaching you WHAT to think, rather than HOW to reason, and providing data to feed the thinking engine, is when you know something’s wrong.
How many miles per dead bird does that Tesla get?
Let’s teach reading, writing, and arithmetic. Not global warming and not homosexuality.
How did schools evolve into liberal indoctrination centers??
Schools are run by local school boards. Not the federal government. Could we see some local school boards in some towns get so fed up that they disconnect from the grid, so to speak, reject federal involvement and federal money, and go back to a more traditional curriculum?? Or are we past the point of no return on that??
Public schools ceased to educate when they decided to indoctrinate. And when these brainwashed fools graduate, then we see how much damage schools have caused.
You think a child will commit suicide because he left his cell phone charger plugged in and we only have 2,000 Pandas in the world?
I think that is somewhat of a stretch.
Solar and critters. How many displaced and now homeless desert tortoises are there after the permitting of the huge solar array south of Vegas? Did the have some sort of special dispensation granted during the EIS? Or did the “report” no evidence of any tortoises living in the area.
The “FEDS” have no business telling any teacher anywhere what they should be telling children.
It is the parents job through the Schools boards that decide what OUR children should be taught. The “feds” need to keep their fat noses out of the people’s business...........
Obviously they haven’t actually tried to use it themselves.
I’ve dabbled in “renewable energy” sources. They’re NOT magic plug-in flick-of-a-switch-easy replacements, they take more work, effort, and tolerance than most people are willing to give. Solar panels are finicky, requiring frequent repositioning and LOTS of time to acquire a usable amount of energy - which usually requires charging batteries so you can dump that acquired power fairly fast. I go thru periods of trying such things, concluding “that’s annoying” and going back to 99.99% reliable coal-powered outlets.
The should be teaching about every form of power. I will name some of the more esoteric and oddball ones and I think they should because you never know when some middle school-er will want to learn more about this stuff and become an engineer and want to get into that specific Discipline.
* Coal; Super-Critical Units, Pulverized Coal, Fluidized Beds.
* Nuclear; Fusion, Fusion, Breeders, and all the other reactor designs.
* LFTR Liquid Florine Thorium Reactors which maybe the solution period.
* Co-Generation Units, Thermal to Electric Recovery devices.
And that is just some of producing technologies, getting into Fracking and the potential cleaning of the sour gases would probably boggle their minds. My point is their is way more that Wind and Solar and all their variations.
I'd challenge them to build a cheap Solar Hot Water Heater and a Trombe Wall, while it maybe fun perhaps they will learn and see all that glitters is not gold, their are limits and compromises...
How about we cut down a bunch of trees to burn to boil water to make steam generated electricity? It’s RENEWABLE!
Save the planet? From what?
Warming? Cooling? Something else? Ishvenny invaders?
Which is it this week?
The feds also told teachers to have the kids watch some stupid live news program and answer a questionnaire on bozo’s childhood back in 2009. Every teacher in our district ignored it.
