Fiorina supporters slam 'ludicrous' CNN debate methodology
The Hill ^ | 08/23/2015 | Kevin Cirilli

Carly Fiorina supporters are criticizing CNN's debate criteria that could prevent the former Hewlett-Packard CEO from grabbing a spot on the main stage at the second debate despite her surging poll numbers. They say that CNN's decision to include polls from before the first presidential debate will work against Fiorina, who didn't make the main stage at the Aug. 6 Fox News debate in Cleveland but surged after a strong performance during the undercard debate.

"Ludicrous," was how Katie Hughes, communications director for CARLY for America super-PAC supporting Fiorina's campaign, termed it.

"The political class is *still* trying to keep her off the main debate stage, if you can believe that," argued Sarah Isgur Flores, Fiorina's deputy campaign manager, in a fundraising email to supporters on Friday.

She has no supporters. her supporters are on the RNC. The RNC wants a woman on stage to prove GOP diversity. no one in the real world cares.

I think Carly is interesting. She speaks boldly on a number of key topics, and she cannot be accused of being sexist when she attacks Hillary or Elizabeth Warren. Carly's traclk record at HP is actually better than many people want to admit.

I wouldn't vote for her, but having her on the debate stage makes more sense to me than Christie, Kasich, Santorum Huckabee, Graham or Pataki.

At this point, we should be trying to bring out policy on topics of importance. Carly can help keep the media on track so that they actually talk policy rather than junk.

Cruz would be wise to challange Carly to a one-on-one debate. It will bring more attention to both of them and he would win.

I have listened to her and I like her. She put Chrissie right in his place with his questions about Hillary. The GOP needs her, like it or not; she at least has cojones to criticize Trump, which none of the other milquetoasts have!! Now I love Cruz myself, but she belongs up there and for CNN to deny her at this point, when she clearly has been scoring in the polls since August 6, is petty at best and more of the war of women at worst.

There was no INITIAL “debate”, it was just a circus of gottcha questions by a very disappointing FOX news group ou to and hell bent on getting Trump.

Any future “debates” need to include all candidates thereby giving each an equal opportunity to address their opposition and state their positions on the issues and those issues discussed need to all be exactly the same, NO SOFTBALL’S.

Why is the GOP even letting CNN run the debate at all?

She has a valid point. Trump needs the same amount of screaming.

She is being derided from many camps because, (despite the fact that folks are saying she was a terrible CEO at HP) she now represents a threat to the status quo. Her numbers are increasing because she is OUTSIDE OF THE BOX.

Her thoughts and policies (get this) actually make sense.

She appeals to an America in the same way Trump appeals to a broken America, thirsting for a rebirth, a reassertion and reaffirmation of who & what we are.

The Obamian era will be remembered as the end of American hegemony with a flood of apologies in the world where we went down with a whimper and not a bang.

Carly and Donald both BELIEVE IN AMERICAN Exeptionalism, are causing us to believe that we can be a superpower again and not a Paper Tiger.

She is far from perfect but she is deadly honest - this is what the country needs - honesty. Can she (or Donald) deliver? No way of knowing but we must stop the bickering and infighting and move the country back to it's mantle.

They shouldn’t call it the “main stage”, they should call it the “center ring”.

I don’t have a strong opinion on Fiorina’s merits as a candidate or whether CNN is designing to keep her off stage but the methodology of polls going back that far does seem highly suspect regardless.

Honest? Are we talking about the same Carly Fiorina? The one I am thinking of is the John McCain adviser and insider which one are you talking about?

After the Candy Crowley scandal — I’m surprised that the GOP even allows CNN anywhere near its debaters.

OK, so she’s not perfect so who then can lead the Reublican Party out of it’s hole? Except for Trump, they’re all mediocre...

In my Humble opinion Trump is the only GOPer that could win the general. And I'll double down by saying Trump is the only GOPer that would make a difference by winning the general. All the rest are to one degree or another members of the uniparty.

The above is predicated on Hillary not being the Rat nominee, I think anyone could beat Hillary.

Remember, we are talking about the GOPe, who gives in on everything so the MSM will like them. The GOPe has no backbone from Romney to McConnel to Boehner on down. So letting CNN and the enemy MSM run debates is no surprise to me.

I think she helps us: A woman CEO stands before the world and shows at least the appearance of articulating pro-life, pro-defense, reduced regulation and corporate influence buying. She may flunk on details, but it is good politics for conservatives to have her and Dr. Carson on center stage. It does mean something to their respective interest groups, however shallow or emotional might be their individual motives.

The leftists at CNN don't want a woman of some accomplishment articulating conservative ideas before a national audience, to any degree. They would see her as a threat to dislodge a fraction of female support for the Slave Party.

Since the last debate with Crowley, the fat broad, no Republican should consider a CNN debate. Why do they keep falling into traps like that?
