Billionaire businessman Donald Trump has captured the publics attention for better or worse, and his bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, once seen as a pipe dream, is now a topic of serious discussion. So for the near future at least, Rasmussen Reports intends to track Trumps race for the White House in a weekly Friday feature were calling Trump Change.
Our latest national telephone survey finds that 57% of Likely Republican Voters now think Trump is likely to be the Republican presidential nominee next year, with 25% who say its Very Likely. That compares to 27% who felt a Trump nomination was likely two months ago when he formally announced his presidential bid, a finding that included just nine percent (9%) who said it was Very Likely.
At that time, Trump ran near the bottom among the 12 declared GOP candidates. Now he leads the pack of Republican hopefuls which has grown to include 17 prominent contenders.
Among all likely voters, 49% think Trump is likely to be the Republican nominee, including 17% who say its Very Likely. That compares to 23% and seven percent (7%) respectively in the earlier survey. Forty-eight percent (48%) now say Trump is not likely to win the nomination, with 21% who feel it is Not At All Likely.

If Biden gets in this... and it becomes TRUMP vs BIDEN.... can you imagine the field day Trump would have with that? He would totally destroy Biden The Gaffer.
Good. Most of the others ones are starting to make me ill.
The only ones I really like are Cruz and Jindal. I don’t believe either has a great chance right now.
I am still skeptical of Trump, but would vote for him in the general election and believe he will be the nominee and our next president.
The one thing I’m confident Trump would do is call out Republican SoS in places like Ohio and Florida on the “unmentionable” topic of voter fraud in the Democrat strongholds.
I suspect he’d also fund a large corps of poll watchers.
wow, 82% think he will be or probely will be the nominee
Why are you skeptical? What do you think that Trump is going to do?
Sure, he would make the BO worshiping crowd mad at him for awhile, but most of them would eventually come home to the jack@$$ party. They always do.
And some of the mushy middle flirting with the Donald might be persuaded by the enemedia to be offended and make up the shortfall.
I wonder if plugs would laugh his way through a debate with the Donald the way he did with Ryan.
I wonder where Rove and his whiteboard are?
Rove says Trump can’t win. And the numbers on his whiteboard prove it!
So you’re thinking there is greater than zero probability that Loretta Lynch would prosecute Caliph Baraq?
Although some of his positions (e.g., on immigration) are conservative, Donald Trump is not a conservative, and he would be a poor choice as a GOP nominee, since he would be disliked by social and economic conservatives, RINOs, and demonicrats for differing reasons. But being a billionaire, Trump wouldn’t care what any of those groups (or the media) dislike about what he wants to do.
If elected, Trump would not be a person likely to be a good statesman (remember when the U.S. used to have those?!).
He should be curled up in a corner, whimpering, and smelling of despair.
Who wants a statesman, besides the Bushbots!
Considering most people in this country make their decisions based on the latest in ‘reality’ shows, twitter post, facebook pages and catchy phrase words of the day is it really so surprising?
Those same folks who gave us the vaunted Bob Dole, whose time was deserved, or John McCain who too was “in-line”. The RNC has disenfranchised conservatives for so long this would not be a reason for conservatives to lose interest. At the end of the day, it is defeating the democrats.
You have to assume that Barry and Valerie trusted Biden the moron enough to let him in the circle to start.
I think Trump would be a very popular president if elected, but I am afraid the conservative base wont be as happy with what he does as many think they will be at the moment.
But, having said that, Trump is 10000000000 times better choice than Jeb or Hillary.
It’ll be gaffetastic!
