Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) pushed back against fellow Republican candidates who use the term anchor babies, including former Florida governor Jeb Bush and billionaire Donald Trump.
In an interview with CNBCs John Harwood, Rubio insisted that these children were human beings.
Those are human beings and ultimately they are people, were not just statistics, theyre humans with stories, he said, when asked by Harwood what he thought about Donald Trumps plan to block citizenship for babies who were born to illegal immigrants in the United States.

What about the other 7 billion people in the world? Aren't they "humans with stories"?
What a stupid strawman of an argument.
As far as I know all humans in the world are people and have stories - does that mean they’re all entitled to US citizenship?
And their former neighbors back in Mexico are the perfect audience.
Exactly. There are wonderful people from all over the world, that doesn't make them Americans.
Anchor babies: Underage intruders.
Anchor babies: Underage intruders.
The victims of illegal aliens have stories, too. Every American citizen has a story.
hahahahhaha, excellent, omg/ lol
Sorry Mr. Rubio, but in fact, you are part of a statistic with a story. The problem you have is that your story changes depending on your desires and goals.
Marco Rubio's story, a convient fiction.
At the start of Marco Rubio's political career in Florida politics he traded heavily upon the history of his parents being refugees of the Castro regime. A story that played well among the Cuban exhile community staunchly anti-Castro and anti-Communist.
So well that when he ran for Florida's 111th District that support within the Cuban community helped him secure his seat in the Florida House of Representatives in 2000 until 2008, the last two years of which he served as Speaker of the House.
Still maintaining the fiction of his family's departure from Communist Cuba, he won election as Florida's US Senator.
Fact Check of Rubio's Story
"On May 18, 1956, Mario and Oriales Rubio walked into the American Consulate in Havana and applied for immigrant visas. The form asked how long they intended to stay in the United States.
Permanently," Mr. Rubio answered. Nine days later, the couple boarded a National Airlines flight to Miami, where a relative awaited.
The Rubios followed the legal procedures to obtain immigrant status for life in the USA.
So what's the problem, you say?
No problem with their legal status. The problem is Marco's story of the family fleeing Communist Castro's oppression.
On the date of the application, May 18, 1956, Fidel Castro and his small band of rebels had not yet made their first attack which came on July 26, 1956, an attack which failed but made Fidel Castro's name known for the first time. An attack enshrined in Cuban history and celebrated still in Cuba.
Castro didn't make his successful attack against Batista until December 31, 1958. One and a half years after the Rubio's had settled in Florida.
So Marco Rubio growing up in the Florida Cuban exile community steeped in their history of staunch anti-Castro sentiment and activity, with families who suffered direct losses in the Bay of Pigs invasion, at so point decided he would steal part of their story and make it his. All for personal political advantage.
Mr Rubio, your first lie, maybe a modest one, is a foundation stone of your political career and indicative of your lack of integrity and your poor choice of alliances in the US Senate, good for Marco, no damn good for the rest of America.
Early in the day to drink!
Stories are for children.
Adults should stick to reality, with an occasional story to remind us of our youth.
So are billions of Chinese, Indians and Pakistanis Marco. Want to go get them and boat them over? HUH?
Idiot.
Come November, they will vote for the Democrat. Each and every one of them.
I still have been laughing about humans without stories, but I have quickly stopped all that= now seeing the DOW -538 now
Some people have mad skillz, yo.
OK, then. Let these aliens tell their “stories” back in their crummy home countries. They aren’t citizens here.
Nation of laws, Marco. You want a nation of feelings, move to Greece. Take all your anchor babies with you.
The tax slaves forced to support illegals are human beings with stories, too.
I don’t know but if you try, they shoot you. Then rape you. Then shoot you again.
“Marco the Rube” doing a TOP NOTCH job of SINKING his own candidacy.
