He’s a breath of fresh air that I wouldn’t be opposed to but it’s a long road to Nov. ‘16. He could mouth off one too many times or get Arkancized or get bored or get Palinized or Jarrett could arrange for him to be on a jury sequestered for months on end or Big Brother could plant child porn on his computer, etc.

Absolutely agree - and while also a Cruz supporter I think part of the past performance analysis has to be his business record. I haven’t heard people coming out of the woodwork claiming he reneged on promises he made - I simply don’t know the answer and hope someone does the background. He obviously has a wealth of deals to analyze. Four obviously went bad, to the point of bankruptcy. But that is business - if he ran the companies involved the best he could and the economy or whatever simply did not support those businesses, that was just a tough break and with potential reward there is always risks.
What are the risks with Trump? At some point he will have clarified his policies to the point rational decisions can be made, but it is still too early as he has so many policies to consider and decide where he really stands, while at the same time some of his initial comments have been either not specific enough or have been focussing with time.
Hopefully his “conversion” will continue. Unless shown that he goes back on his word (which hasn’t been shown, to my knowledge, yet) - I’ll give him the benefit of the promises he is willing to make going forward, even when they are at odds with public positions he took during a business career that probably kept him from taking hard conservative positions. Hopefully he’s at a point in his life he really doesn’t really care what liberals think and they cannot affect whatever business he continues to operate. Also hopefully he will change some of his worst positions, such as with respect to eminent domain and the Kelo decision. At the end of the day we will all have to decide is it worth getting someone in who will be effective with immigration and other economic and perhaps social issues at the expense of other issues.
Someone needs to do a “Where Are They Now?” exposé on Frank Luntz’s fraudulent post-debate focus group.

I am a Cruz guy but I think the sentiment right now favors Trump. I do not trust him at all though.

That’s also where I’m at...I’d much prefer Cruz but will vote for whoever the nominee is....even if it’s Trump.
