A House Democrat thinks that Hillary Clintons e-mail server scandal has the potential to ruin her political career.
I think if she intentionally misled or lied to the American people and did something that was clearly against the rules, and knowingly did it against the rules, if that is the ultimate conclusion, then I think she has disqualified herself, Representative John Yarmuth (D., Ky.) told a local political reporter. Yarmuth endorsed then-Senator Barack Obama in his 2008 presidential bid against Clinton. Im not saying she is more divisive, he said at the time. [But] she is less capable of bridging the gap in the country.
Clinton denied ever violating the rules about how to handle classified material in March. I did not e-mail any classified material to anyone on my e-mail, she told reporters. There is no classified material.
The intelligence community inspector generals office has flagged over 300 e-mails that may contain classified information including at least two that contained top secret information prompting Clinton to modify that denial. I did not send classified material. And I did not receive any material that was marked or designated classified which is the way you know whether something is [classified], she said Tuesday.
In keeping with that new theme, Clintons spokesman described her as a passive recipient of unwitting information that subsequently became classified during a conference call with reporters Wednesday.
That represents another shift from her March press conference, when she said, Im certainly well-aware of the classification requirements and did not send classified material.
Former National Security Agency official John Schindler argues that the law holds Clinton to a higher standard. There is no doubt that she, or someone on her State Department staff, violated federal law by putting TOP SECRET//SI information on an unclassified system, Schindler wrote in The Daily Beast:
"Claims that they didnt know such information was highly classified do not hold water and are irrelevant. It strains belief that anybody with clearances didnt recognize that NSA information, which is loaded with classification markings, was signals intelligence, or SIGINT. Its possible that the classified information found in Clintons e-mail trove wasnt marked as such. But if that classification notice was omitted, it wasnt the U.S. intelligence community that took such markings away. Moreover, anybody holding security clearances has already assumed the responsibility for handling it properly."
Joel Gehrke is a political reporter for National Review.
He is just upset that it all is being noticed.
Im not saying she is more divisive, he said at the time. [But] she is less capable of bridging the gap in the country.
I think Hillary would have been every bit as divisive as Obama, but I don’t think even she would have been treasonous enough to go for this Iran “deal”.
Ohhhhh.....good point.
All they have to do now is figure out how to lay all this on Republicans.
Someone made that point on Fox News yesterday. It was an obvious and excellent point that I didn't see at first.
“As Secretary of State, she never had any e-mails or wrote any e-mails with classified or “Top Secret” information? “
Well, maybe Cheryl and Huma read SIPRNET messages and sent them, sans marking, to Hillary, and she’d respond, the girls would re-mark them, and transmit securely?
Otherwise no way could text get to and from an embassy.
I will really enjoy seeing her fume as she melts away like the wicked witch of the west, realizing that her dream has just gone away.
I'll tell you what it means... It means the same as "I take full responsibility' - which in dem-speak means 'shut up it's time to move on"...
Also the dem fetish with 'apologies'... as if an apology erases a crime. Are they drinking 'stupid water' in DC?<
In the real world no one gives a damn if a criminal apologizes 'with passion'... Democrat elites are fools for buying into this 'political consultant' crap.
Eh while Obama is likely holding it over her head, I’m sure it is just to get her to dance his dance, whether its letting him pick the VP or something else. In the end the Dems always cover for the Dems.
The e-mail mess is only the beginning. Just wait until we get to the financial shenanigans of the Clinton Foundation--possibly being used as "laundering" conduit for bribes to and from FIFA officials at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Makes perfect sense. With her shady past, she couldn't get a security clearance.
She “did something that was clearly against the rules...”
.....................
Is way worse than against the rules.
