The State Department spokesman told reporters Monday that Hillary Clintons confidential emails arent necessarily spy thriller level classification, and insisted that 63 classified emails out of sampling of 3,000 off her private server so far is a pretty small percentage.
More than 300 have been pulled by intelligence community reviewers for additional scrutiny.
(snip) Kirby added that theres a lot of work left to do, and I can assure you that there will be additional upgrades to classified status over time. Its just a mathematical fact.
And what I think youre seeing here is testament to the fact that were taking this very seriously, and were doing it deliberately and in a measured way, and were not going to shy away from making an upgrade recommendation if thats, in fact, what has to happen, he said.

Latest from State Dept: not spy-thriller worthy.
What would be the new incarnation of excuses next week? Mid-week, or even tomorrow?

One is too many. Anybody else would be doing jail time for even one.
A private server is for your private stuff like "Hey Chelsea...It's mom. So glad to hear you are ironing your husbands shirts and baking cookies. That's my girl....just like Mom".
Well, quality and interest value of that data aside, it nevertheless is protected by markings (TS) and requirements that dictate extraordinary procedures under which it MUST be handled.
To even see this data in electronic format (e.g., on a cleared computer) it MUST be in a facility cleared to protect it at that level. In other words, such data would NEVER reside on any kind of system that sends and receives email over the unclassified internet. To think otherwise is just plain foolish.
These people on her side that minimize this whole thing don’t have a clue in the world of that about which they are speaking. It is today’s version of “a BJ isn’t sex.”
1. Emails marked as being classified, up to and including Top Secret and beyond, were transferred to or from her server
2. Emails that had classification markings scrubbed from them were transferred to or from her server.
If #1, she is guilty of violating criminal and civil law. If #2, then one or more of her staff members are guilty of violating criminal and civil law, AND she has proven herself incompetent to hold any position of trust and/or authority by not recognizing that the material should have been marked as being classified.
Will she ever get indicted, much less sent to jail? Never. The ruling class never has to answer for its sins.
One could also state that as "Hillary Clinton's confidential emails are perhaps spy thriller level classification".
And not all of Bill Clinton’s days of life were “rape days.”
Interesting justification being provided. Are any sensitive emails involved? If so, that’s enough.
This decides it, I’m going to ask my company if I can set up a private email server because of all the personal email I get at work. I’ll keep the confidential email safe...
Think they’ll ever let us see the “Hum-dingers” from Huma?????
Well, another option is that some emails SHOULD have had those markings before they were sent from or to her.
Let’s not forget that once a device or media is used for classified data, itself becomes classified and is required to be securely stored ( not in your lawyers office either)until it is destroyed or wiped by the guys in the lab etc.
There are so many crimes involved here.
She is done.
When I worked at a Joint HQs, there were so many thumb drives, laptops, cell phones and other electronics surrendered to security that we had a dedicated team just to wipe/destroy etc all of it. It all became gov property once it passed the entrance security desk..... Sorry about that blackberry, Major, you should have left it your vehicle. Sign here, move along. Out going stuff ( things brought in and then found on the way out) brought the owner/violator to the CE officers desk for a good frank discussion about career and fed jails....
I did not realize that “spy thriller” was a classification. I wish the press would call them out on these juvenile games.
If verified SCIF level material found its way on her server system emails, somebody INTENTIONALLY removed the markings and INTENTIONALLY violated so many laws it isn’t funny.
They’re going to find that it’s no big deal after all, and that Hillary didn’t do anything illegal and that it’s just a great big right wing conspiracy set up by those evil Republicans.
Who cares? She broke the law. She is a crook.
Kirby-weasel.
This is sort of like saying: “Only a small percentage of the wallets the pick-pocket stole had money in them.” The guy is still a thief, and Clinton is still a felon.
Yes, classification levels range from confidential to secret to top secret - plus some additional caveats. Hillary cannot dismiss this as some kind of minor oversight. The whole reason for the various classification levels is to rate/estimate the damage done to the United States and our interests should the information be disclosed to the wrong parties. Let me repeat that - it is a rating of the damage done to the US if it is made public.
Sure, Hillary, disclosing confidential isn't as bad as disclosing TS. But it still damages the US and hurts our interests. I realize to Hillary and her liberal fascist ilk hurting the US for their own personal gain is just another day at the office. However, some of us actually take pride in our Country, take our oaths seriously, and actually have this thing called integrity. You obviously don't Hillary, on all three counts.
Hillary gets more disgusting and revolting with every passing day.
Been saying that for days! Any and all devices that might have processed classified information are also deemed classified devices. Whether information is “marked” or not is a baseless excuse.mit is the the responsibility of the person holding the information to insure it is properly marked and safeguarded. I have been taught that for 40 years in required annual security refresher briefings either in the military or working in or for the government. There are no excuses for lapses in security protocols.
That repeated claim that she never received emails that were marked classified is the big tell. She only apparently did not because she had an aide stripping them before sending them. And since she took that to be the bar for her cover of innocence (even though it’s not), it’s pretty clear that she directed her aide to do that.
Felonies, felonies, felonies.
