For those of you who are unfamiliar with him, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn is a the best selling author of both "The Harbinger" and "The Mystery of the Shemitah."
Cahn is a Messianic Jew, and a devoted man of God.
I believe what he speaks is prophetic, and his words echo sound and true.
The dire warnings to America he spoke of our nation's race towards Godlessness (and looming judgment) in "The Harbinger" are eerily coming to pass.
Even more dire, Cahn has discovered that the ancient Shemitah cycle of 7 years that God ordained in Leviticus also follows recent patterns in America indicating economic and other calamity at the end of the Shemitah for a nation that walks away from God. What the Lord intended as a blessing every 7 years becomes a curse and judgment for the nations that curse the Almighty.
This coming end of Shemitah is also a "Super Shemitah", meaning that it ends a pattern of seven (a number God uses to mean completion) Shemitahs of 49 years, ending in the Biblical year of Jubliee.
We also have the last of the Blood Moons coming in September, and this will be a "Super Moon", closer to the earth and appearing about 14% greater in size (full perigee) and 25 times brighter than a micro moon.
Rabbi Cahn's message is about 13 minutes long, and located HERE.
It is all not doom and gloom, but full of wisdom, encouragement, and prudence. I urge anyone reading this to watch it.
Cahn reminds us that God does not have to act, that is up to Him, and His timing. However, the wise heed advice, and prepare. Spiritually first, and then physically.
Blessings.
I think that in October either this guy will have a huge following because he was right, or he will have a smaller following because he was wrong, but some people will have bought his last minute “well, it doesn’t HAVE to be September 2015, and I’m still right” message.
We’ll know soon enough which it is. I only bought into his message because a lot of it made sense and the timing was so short it would soon come to pass that we would know whether or not he was a false prophet. And we will.
If he is a Christian, then why does he call himself Rabbi? Rabbis are Jewish, not Christian. I’m not worried about September; There have been many doomsayers in the past who were proven wrong. This guy sounds like just another one.
Cahn has already said there’s no guarantee that it happens.
Only that the two Elul 29’s between 2001 and 2008 marked such a date of the market down significantly, with the events 7 years apart.
And IF there’s a pattern and IF it repeats it would be Elul 30 or September 14 with the market reopening after it closes Friday, September 11.
Yeah. All those “ifs” make him just another doomsday predicter.
Fact is, he focused on “it” happening “if” America doesn’t repent. It’s not, and he’s made it clear that it is his opinion that it has not.
So here we are. For me, Cahn’s reputation rests on what happens in September. If nothing, I’ll ignore him from then on.
I’ve been around the block with these guys for a few decades. Hal Lindsey actually led me to the Lord with one of his books. I then caught him in a bold faced lie in a book called, “A Prophetic Walk Through the Holy Land”. With the eyes of hindsight I see him for what he is.
I’m still a Christian - stronger and more knowledgeable than ever - but I have not bothered to listen to Hal in at least 20 years. There have been others as well.
I watched Cahn with great interest for a variety of reasons. I’ve been very supportive but always with a “he’s strongly committed himself to that date. If the US doesn’t repent and nothing happens in September, I’m done with him.”
We’ll see what happens in September. And maybe the US will repent between now and then. ;-)
I think it’s good he’s noted this stuff.
Now if he framed it that it would absolutely happen and impossible not to happen, then I’d call him a false prophet.
Jonah preached and Nineveh repented. So it didn’t fall immediately.
A false prophet also preaches peace, peace when there is no peace. And there’s lots of that these days.
[And maybe the US will repent between now and then. ;-)]
Probably not. Not most anyways.
Probably not. Not most anyways.
Fact is, I have plenty of other reasons to believe “the end is near” without his predictions anyway. His just added to the stack. And he is probably right on a lot of levels, but his relevance and credibility will completely collapse (for me) if the US does not repent and his September prediction does not come true.
I know we don’t stone false prophets any more, but it is prudent to ignore them.
Pure mysticism based upon a second temple period interpretation of the Law.
I haven’t heard all he’s said, but I definitely have heard him say there’s no guarantee that it HAS to happen.
Now, Harold Camping predicting the Rapture; OK on that we knew he was going to fail.
I havent heard all hes said, but I definitely have heard him say theres no guarantee that it HAS to happen.
His utter confidence was one of the things that attracted me to his message. Another thing was that it was such a short term prediction that his accuracy would be quickly tested.
And it is about to be.
*If he argued that it doesn’t have to happen whether the US repents or not, what reason or proof threshold is there that anything he says is more than complete nonsense? Again, he becomes another TBN “end is near” charlatan if there is no verifiable claim. I burned through those folks in the late 1980’s. Fool me once...
I have never gotten that from many times of seeing him (on TV and some Youtube).
I’ve watched him document these things, which are indeed striking.
He comes off as a guy seeing the USA has turned a significant corner, with which I agree.
But some have banked on September being pretty much a sure thing, which I think is quite dangerous.
But, I have *not* read his fiction book, which I think was certainly not needed.
Whatever may or may not happen then, there’s a day of financial reckoning coming; that much is absolutely for certain.
And there are many waging war on Christianity, Jews and Israel.
Eventually it will be the majority.
Try this....I copied and pasted and it took me to the right link....

Hmmmmm.... September 23rd Pope Francis arrives at the White House to meet with Barack Obama. Some have suggested that the timing of this event is highly unusualFrancis is the 266th pope who will be meeting with President Obama on the 266th day of the year, leading one Internet preacher to wonder if something is being birthed on that day, since 266 days is the typical human gestation period from conception to birth.
That’s the thing. I watch Gerald Celente and others talk about a day of reckoning coming and continue to watch. But Cahn comes at it from a different perspective. A “prophetic” perspective. And he most definitely used PRECISE dates. Of course they depend on the U.S. not repenting.
Again, if the U.S. continues to not repent and September comes and goes with no event like he discusses, I cross him off my list of guys to follow. And if it was only a “this could happen” prediction, I never should have been following him in the first place. Heck, even the Jehovah’s Witnesses learned the price of setting dates without prophetic authority.
I should point out that I have a natural leaning to believe guys like Cahn. Heck, I moved from my home of 45 years, Seattle, to a small farm in Kentucky in 2011 that I bought in 2008, two weeks before the election. And I bought it partly as a bug-out site. My move was also partly a “bug out” move.
So I’m sympathetic to his message, but still, I’m not blind. I will not allow ANY of them to string me along for fun and profit.
And don’t kid yourself. There is a LOT of that going on.
Very interesting. Note things seem to be pointing to September 23 even without a word from Cahn. And there are many others that seem to be lining up effectively.
i.e. he may be right. We shall see.
Just saying, Hal Lindsey’s, “Late, Great Planet Earth” timing was off but I know many people who accepted Christ as their Savior after reading that book including myself. I am hoping Sept is a big dud like the year 2000, but it does feel like something is going on. We must prepare and keep our eyes and heart on Him.
[Of course they depend on the U.S. not repenting]
Hmm. I’ve just never read it that way. But yeah I have heard him warn America about repenting.
I’ve always read it as a foregone conclusion that things get worse. From Scripture and not from him.
I’m only curious if there is indeed a repeatable pattern and yes, he’s definitely using a pretty precise date, in regards to 7 years and Elul 29 (really Elul 30).
I’m more concerned about those who openly declare they are prophets, multiple times, and get TV shows and go around.
I have experienced several “words of knowledge” but would not have ever believed it had it not happened multiple times.
But I certainly am not going around claiming to be a prophet. Oy.
You’re not the only one living paycheck to paycheck
In our 29 years of marriage, this is the FIRST year I have been able to put money INTO the bank.
My parents and my in-laws were in much better financial shape at this stage of their lives. I expected the same for us. Not for us to still be living in early marriage.
And yet I know that we are still way ahead of where some very good friends of mine are, and that is more than one couple I know.
I will add him to my prayer list.
I have a daughter in the LA area and am concerned about her.
The other. two are in better situations. One is in NH and armed.
The other is closer to home.
