Donald Trump calls out hypocrisy of Silicon Valley on immigration and 'diversity'

While I question his authenticity, there is no question that Donald Trump is doing a great service to Republicans by taking on topics that were formerly untouchable.  The most prominent, of course, is illegal immigration, but now Trump has taken on the Silicon Valley moguls who are pushing for more legal immigration, which displaces American workers.

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg has funded an organization called "Fwd," which is reminiscent of MSNBC's unintentionally homoerotic "lean forward" motto.

Zuckerberg started a public interest group called Fwd.us to push for immigration and lobbying reform along with Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. Neither Facebook (FBTech30) nor Fwd.us had an immediate comment on Trump's criticism of Zuckerberg.

Employers are supposed to pay a typical wage to anyone hired under a H-1B visa. But in reality, employees on these visas are typically paid 20 to 45% less than U.S. workers who they are are often replacing, said Ron Hira, a Howard University public policy professor who has studied the visa's pay scale.

It's all about money – in this case, cheap labor for the tech companies.

Zuckerberg is one of the leading tech executives who has called for a more open immigration policy. Specifically, he wants to make more H-1B visas available to tech employers so they can hire foreign skilled workers. Trump said he wants to require employers to pay H-1B workers much more money, which he said would discourage companies from hiring them and boost job prospects for Americans. He also wants to have tech jobs offered to unemployed Americans before they can be filled by workers with H-1B visas.

What the ‘fraud’ technology companies do....is require people to pay a hyped up price for their products...when they utilize anywhere from ten-percent to a quarter of their manpower with H-1B visas...who they typically pay less than the American workers. It’s a simple business practice.

If you want to end this game....just mandate that engineer X (H-1B) must be paid as much as engineer X (from the US). You’d be shocked how quick the H-1B interest would draw down within the HR management crowd. Any state legislature (why not California) could easily mandate this. Since they’ve got all peppy on the $15 an hour minimum wage....this should be a peppy topic to take on as well.

no, it’s not mexicans in tech companies. it’s indians and chinese mostly, who then bring over their whole families. and their lower H1B wages exert a downward pressure on all engineering salaries. as i understand it, salaries are the same now as they were a decade ago. so in real dollars, engineers are earning less and less each year as inflation eats into their buying power.

FWD.US is crawling all over local runaway open borders city halls. I ordered up docs from the OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES in Houston.

Another home run for Mr. Trump! These snotty Leftist billionaires are replacing the American workers that made them rich with cheap foreign labor and lobbying that even more H1B visas be granted.

Americans who don’t approve of this shabby treatment of our citizens should sell their stock in these companies and boycott their services.

While I question his authenticity,
Yet you have no problem using his name in your title to get suckers to read your anti-Trump trash while agreeing with him.

Guess who the fraud is in this picture?

A better plan would be give businesses some type of tax break for employing Americans citizens or place the h-1b visa holder in a higher tax bracket.

Forcing businesses to pay higher wages could end up in businesses just exporting the jobs to India and China. I would rather the jobs still remain in America.

The H-1B visa issue (travesty) has been flying under the radar for a long time. Time to acquire, track, and kill this thing.

We need an H-1B visa quota foe young attractive people from all over the world to work in TV journalism at 50% wages. That'll get some attention.

There must be a % of H-1B that come over as modern day indentured servants. If you have an employee that gets deported if you fire them, they’re going to be pretty loyal, particularly ones from 3rd world countries hired by fellow countrymen who are already naturalized and running their own small programming or specialty precision manufacturing company.

I don’t know what laws kick in when an H-1B employee is terminated.

I would like to know the racial profiles of the entire H-1B population. I’ll bet there aren’t many Black or White folk in that group. Can’t speculate on the gender.

Kinda fun watching Trump take-on the Plutocracy.

Ouch! Techies like Zuckerberg and Mayer like to fly a bit below the radar. The Donald calling them out will not be appreciated I’m sure.

Thats a game they play, you write the advert around the candidate so closely that no one else qualifies. They've been doing that for years. Companies have never had any problem hiring the foreign workers they want. You just make speaking Telugu and five years of post-grad education a requirement and nobody working his way up in your company is likely to qualify.
