Former GOP front-runner derides Trump's plan as unrealistic.
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush is dismissing front-runner Donald Trump's immigration plan as impractical and destined to fail.
It's Bush's latest attempt to move up in the national polls and revive his candidacy. This time, his strategy is based on taking the offensive and portraying himself as a pragmatic, realistic leader while he suggests that Trump is living in a dream world.
"A plan needs to be grounded in reality," the former governor of Florida told the Washington Post Monday night while campaigning in South Carolina.
Bush said it's impractical for Trump to propose erecting a wall between the United States and Mexico and to propose having the Mexican government pay for it. Similarly, Bush derided Trump's threat to seize remittances sent by undocumented workers to their families in Mexico and Trump's threat to end birthright citizenship. Trump also wants to send millions of such workers and their families back to their countries of origin, which Bush opposes.
Bush favors a more lenient approach that includes creating a pathway to earned legal residency for millions of people who entered the United States illegally.

I believe the only just “pathway” for illegal alien invaders is a pathway back to their crappy country...deport these criminals. Make a good investment for America.
I think an argument can be made that deporting a lot of these people back to their own countries could be the best thing we could do for those countries.
They’re unlikely to settle with the status quo once they go back.
And as someone said (Ted Nugent?) about the mass deportation from one country to another “Mexico did it...”.
Yeb’s run is unrealistic.
Funny how the people who keep saying deportations are unrealistic all live in gated communities.
I like Trump a lot but I don’t think his plan was very well thought out. By law the anchor babies are American citizens and they will be next to impossible to deport. How do you deport a citizen? He is vulnerable on this point and the sheer numbers of deportations would be formidable.
A hefty tax on remittances sent back to Mexico by illegals would take care of that. Plus, it would discourage border jumping in the first place by reducing the economic incentive to come.
¡Yeb! wants us to abandon the rule of law and surrender the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
No to becoming North Mexico!
Trump’s plan destined to fail? How about your plan Jebster? It’s pretty much what is going on now with the reward of amnesty on top. We see what the result will be already. You reward illegals and wave after wave will follow expecting the same reward for their lawlessness.
:: Has anyone really looked at Jebby? I mean look at him ::
He has that
“I-need-to-be-in-control-of-the-multi-trillion-dollar-campaign-fund-called-The-Budget-of-the-USA”
look in his eye, doesn’t he?
:: How do you deport a citizen? ::
They “enjoy” the benefits of dual-citizenship. Your next question is...?
:: A hefty tax on remittances sent back to Mexico by illegals would take care of that ::
Within the confines of the Dodd-Frank regulation, as well as bringing forward a “monetary trade” regulation would eliminate such issues.
As long as he doesn't he will most certainly lose.
So where is Jeb’s immigration policy?
You know, the details.
Trump released the details of his policy.
All Bush says it that it is unrealistic.
How does Bush know it is unrealistic?
America has never tried it.
Me thinks Bush is afraid to release the details of his. Immigration policy
because it will look a lot like Amnesty.
Trump is hitting it just right. Either you correct the problem in fact or it just keeps on growing....which is what has happened.
Right, because Amnesty and no enforcement of immigration law is a more lenient approach.
Yep. A big tax on sending the money back to Mexico certainly would pay
for the wall. It would also probably make it cheaper for illegals to buy a
bus ticket back to Mexico to delivery that money, than to pay the tax and
send it via Western Union or Walmart.
Very good plan.
Bush and Perino. TWO TOILET TURDS.
I'm not clear on what you're saying here. If you mean to say that we can't implement such a tax because DF prohibits it then rip out DF; it's crap anyway. Laws are not immutable. Heck, even the plain text of the Constitution is not immutable these days.
If I've mistaken your meaning then help me out.
Every hit from Bush on Trump’s immigration plan is just a validation of Trump’s plan.
