On June 15, while Donald Trump was announcing his candidacy for President of the United States, I began to write.
My article was published here on June 16, and I was way out front in how Donald Trump would resonate with the American people. Needless to say, I received tons of flak and ridicule. Also, the majority of pundits smirkingly dismissed it as an absurdity to think Trump would make a serious run.
Well, my dear fellow Americans, it is now two months since he made his announcement and I must say—while I feel there are some terrific candidates—Trump towers over all like a colossus
For years I have heard people say “what America needs is someone who is successful to run the country,” “is this the best America has to offer?”, ” there is so much scrutiny in running anyone who is very successful would never run,” etc., etc. Enter Donald Trump.
Trump is a force of nature with a love for America that has made him sacrifice his very successful life. He now brings a message of bold, forceful, positive energy. I do not like when I hear him referred to as “bombastic.”
When pundits refer to him this way it is because the Donald does not fit into the cookie cutter way they perceive politics, and his direct, no nonsense style is criticized to minimize his message. While I listen to all the candidates speak, Trump inspires the most confidence. I believe he will be able to negotiate with other world leaders. I believe he can inspire the confidence to bring Americans together and reset our national will. I believe he is exactly what America needs right now.

You mentioned President Reagan. Ted Cruz is the closest thing we have had to a solid conservative since Reagan. Yet so many support lifelong liberal Donald Trump. Pardon me if I see that as senseless.

Cruz sacked up with Amnesty Ryan two months ago to enable Obama’s secret trade deals. Cruz wants a massive increase in H1B visas. You call that conservative?

Well right now I can’t vote for anybody as the primaries are still six months away. Unlike you, I see no need to make up my mind today as a lot can happen over the next six months.

How do you know its not you who feeds their power structure. I’d think it would much more likely be someone who would rail against Trump and put in another establishment puppet than someone who is at least willing to try a new path.

You will feel better when Trump builds the fence, starts sending the illegals back, re-negotiates NAFTA, CAFTA etc and gets the tax rate down so all that offshore money comes back into the country. The Keystone pipeline will be a go and the first lady will be a knockout.
Try to imagine Boehner and Mitchie dragging their heels on repealing O’Care and immigration reform. Trump will be out on TV calling them losers and whining cry babies. They will finally fall into line and do their jobs for a change or face the ghetto beatdown.

I’ve already stated here multiple times that I would support Ted Cruz for the nomination. I think he’s a solid guy who will make a great president.
We haven’t even seen Trump start working the black community yet. Just watch what happens. He offers a true alternative to Hillary or her ilk. He offers hope to people that they can go somewhere and presents it in a no-nonsense way. I predict he will get more than 50% of the black vote if he becomes the Republican candidate.
Population control? what> ...is it possible that he loves this country and means what he say’s?...are you simply a defeatist ? Is it at all possible he wants to see this constitutional republic continue and get away from the current corrupt government that we have?....what a horrible post....I hope I never have to cross your path....I would get arrested.

American politics has become a silly game of trying to impugn candidates’ morality for their positions. Trump refuses to play the game, always responding with a pragmatic comment, like “I’m a person that believes in leverage.”

“Lifelong liberal” Trump was not casting votes in the United States Senate to enable Obama’s secret trade deals. I’d put a heck of a lot more weight on that action than whatever The Donald said about an issue 20 years ago. Fact is their is no perfect candidate. Dinging one candidate while ignoring the warts on your guy is silly.
I could vote for Cruz after his TPA betrayal and bizarre attachment to H1B visas. But at the same time I certainly wouldn’t rule out supporting the candidate who has done more to mainstream conservative issues than anybody else in this campaign. That candidate would be Trump.
My Connecticut primary isn't until April 28th so I still have almost a year before I get to actually vote. A lot can change between now and then.
