Donald Trump told host Chuck Todd of Meet the Press that he would deport all illegal aliens if he were elected president. “They have to go,” he told Todd.
“We’re going to keep the families together, but they have to go,” he said in the interview, which will air in full on NBC’s “Meet the Press” this Sunday.
Pressed on what he’d do if the immigrants in question had nowhere to return to, Trump reiterated: “They have to go.”
“We will work with them. They have to go. Chuck, we either have a country, or we don’t have a country,” he said.
Speaking on Trump’s gilded private plane as it idled on a runway in Des Moines, Iowa, the real-estate mogul and Republican presidential frontrunner offered the first outlines of the immigration policy proposals he’d implement from the Oval Office.
Trump said, to begin, “we have to” rescind Obama’s executive order offering those brought to the U.S. illegally as children known as DREAMers protection from deportation, as well as Obama’s unilateral move to delay deportation for their families as well.
“We have to make a whole new set of standards” for those immigrating to the US.
The comments are certain to further inflame already fierce opposition from Latino activists and advocacy groups. They’ve been critical of Trump’s candidacy from the start, when he kicked off his campaign with a speech that accused Mexico of sending “criminals” and “rapists” to the U.S.
Trump was hazy on the details of his deportation plan. Presumably it would be legal, which means amending the Constitution to make it possible to deport so-called “anchor babies” — children born in the U.S. of illegal parents. Either that, or simply allow anchor-baby families to remain in the U.S. and grant them legal status.
Somehow, I doubt he would employ that option.
Then, there is the due process that illegal aliens have a right to, according to the law. They can’t be deported without it, and with 11 million court cases coming, he might want to think of increasing the number of immigration judges by a factor of about a thousand. Or perhaps we could change the law and deny illegals due process.
Of course, we’d have to round them all up to deport them. “Papers, please” will become an American catchword in the near future if Trump wins. And where would we keep them all? Jails are already seriously overcrowded so maybe we can build some “camps” — you know, like all totalitarian regimes have — to keep the illegals penned up until their hearing.
Repealing Obama’s executive orders are fine, although there would be a court challenge on behalf of DREAMers because they’ve already been given legal status. Other steps that could be taken include putting some teeth in employer sanctions for hiring illegals, and making it much harder for cities to defy immigration law so that ICE can deport criminals.
As for the rest of the 11 million illegals, Trump is right. “We either have a country or we don’t have a country.” It’s just that Trump’s idea of what America is and what it stands for is as alien as any illegal who jumps the border.
Here are the logistical issues:
1) There is the due process that illegal aliens have a right to, according to the law, They cant be deported without it, and with 11 million court cases coming, do we simply ignore or repeal this law?
2) How many agents do we hire to go house to house to search for them?
3) How many trucks does the Immigration department have to buy to dump 11 million illegals.
4) Once you dump them, where will we put these trucks when they sneak back?
no need to hire agents,,once the invite to come over and exploit is rescinding and the illegals see there is hell to pay rather than bennies to grab, they will stop coming over for FEAR they will be prosecuted then sent back,,or prosecuted AND incarcerated.
You’re really worried about what happens to trucks? Seriously?
Trucks can be sold at auction if they aren’t needed.
RE: Planes, trains and automobiles.
Those are easy to purchase. The logistical challenge is FINDING and ROUNDING up the 11 million without disrupting businesses, schools and the courts.
OK,. let.s deal with issue #1 first. Do we simply ignore the hundreds of thousands of cases that are already in our courts?
Fear that they will be prosecuted? First, let’s deal with the court cases and then we’ll talk about fear. The fact that the cases are there already proves that they have no fear at all.
I believe you nailed it!
Of course ? Nuke deal with Iran, or "of course" war
.lefty canards
.
Your ideas are a great start and that’s really what Trump is talking about here,,taking action!
We have to start somewhere!
What is the logistics of implementing this?
Simple.
Declare illegals ‘nonpersons’, and allow the hunting of illegals, the rape of their daughters and wives, and capture the illegal babies, cut them up, and sell their body parts to Planned Parenthood.
New Orleans has busses they NEVER use.
Blah blah blah. It’s called the law, and they are all citizens of other countries.
Imagine complaining that police or ICE may say “papers please”? If you can’t ask citizens of other countries who they are and what they are doing here, we can just hang it up right now.
.....put a bounty on their heads. With Odungo’s economy
stagnant, the “problem” would resolve itself.
The President Trump simply declares it an issue of National Security and orders US troops and the National Guards of all 50 states to start the round up.
A president has nearly limitless powers if he chooses to exercise them and especially if the congress refuses to check any abuses of power as they have done with Obama and would probably continue to do with any president.
1) There is the due process that illegal aliens have a right to, according to the law, They cant be deported without it, and with 11 million court cases coming, do we simply ignore or repeal this law?
>>>A huge part of the problem is the dozens of “immigrants rights” organizations that are supported by taxes to keep “immigrants’ here so they can gain access to welfare/social services supported by taxes, and if said “immigrants” commit crime, then taxes pay for their legal defense and incarceration. It has to stop.
Yes there will be a huge push for “due process” or rather applications for asylum/green cards etc. Fine. Let them file their paperwork from their native countries.
2) How many agents do we hire to go house to house to search for them?
>>>>It’ll never happen. Work place inspections ? Probably. And Trump’s plan calls for more agents
3) How many trucks does the Immigration department have to buy to dump 11 million illegals.
>>>>N/A
4) Once you dump them, where will we put these trucks when they sneak back?
>>>>With E-Verify, there’s very little reason to return.
It is not Trump whose ideas are alien to the fundamental purpose of our Federation. It is just that he is not one of the brainwashed robots, programmed by Leftists, to whom all nations are alike in their fantasy vision of a "new world order."
Easy - deny them everything. No welfare, no schooling, no jobs, nothing. They’ll self deport. I can’t see what the problem is. Use Mexico’s illegal laws.
Heavily penalize businesses that employ illegals. Tax money transfers back to Messy-co. No drivers licenses, no welfare benefits.
If they are caught voting, using fraudulent documents, committing perjury to obtain benefits and reentering the U.S. after being caught, sentence them to a mandatory five years in prison.
Take away the magnet. Demand Mexican government reform and action against cartels or the U.S. will send 15k troops across the border.
Truman started the deportation of the illegals when WW II ended, as jobs were needed for the thousands of military members returning to the USA.
Eisenhower kept it up. About 11 million illegals were deported in those years......and the population of the USA was smaller then.
The deportations of illegals can be accomplished in this country-—but first, A SECURE WALL must be built. They only treat our border as a revolving door if we don’t have a secure wall.
Inspecting job locations-—construction—landscapers—roofers—all kinds—will provide the first fertile area to find illegals.
Street sweeps can be utilized. There are many ways to get them out of the country. Offer anonymous numbers for citizens to call with rewards for capturing the illegals. Watch how fast they leave before being found out.
All of the incarcerated ones need to be put into high security lockdown, also.
DREAMers need to be sent back. It would be cheaper to pay for schools in Mexico than to support them here on our welfare systems.
“ANCHOR BABIES” born here with illegal mothers need to be sent back. The 14th Amendment never was written for it to be used in the current manner.
A pregnant illegal invader who comes across the border to drop their child here to get American citizenship cannot keep happening. That
Anchor Baby’” then becomes the pivot for other family members to be allowed to come into this country.
We are being invaded & our laws are being mis-used.
Trump is right-—
IT HAS TO STOP.
“Declare them ineligible for every form of public assistance”
Not possible. Courts have ruled that non-citizens can’t be treated differently than citizens.
Shut down the TV channels & radio stations broadcasting only in Spanish. This only makes them feel more comfortable.
IF anyone here doubts the high amount of transfer payments being made to Mexico every week-—
Go to your nearest Western Union location on Friday & Saturday & Sunday & watch the steady stream of Mexican & other south of the border illegals sending money “home”. I have to have an original birth certificate & 3 other forms of ID to open a bank account as a person born & raised in the USA, and then the banks advertise that they are willing to open accounts for the illegals. WHAT ID are they providing????
Western Union is making a comeback over this activity.
