Donald Trump would reverse President Obama's executive orders on immigration and deport all undocumented immigrants from the U.S. as president, he said in an exclusive interview with NBC's Chuck Todd.
"We're going to keep the families together, but they have to go," he said in the interview, which will air in full on NBC's "Meet the Press" this Sunday.
Pressed on what he'd do if the immigrants in question had nowhere to return to, Trump reiterated: "They have to go."
"We will work with them. They have to go. Chuck, we either have a country, or we don't have a country," he said.
Speaking on Trump's gilded private plane as it idled on a runway in Des Moines, Iowa, the real-estate mogul and Republican presidential frontrunner offered the first outlines of the immigration policy proposals he'd implement from the Oval Office.
Trump said, to begin, "we have to" rescind Obama's executive order offering those brought to the U.S. illegally as children known as DREAMers protection from deportation, as well as Obama's unilateral move to delay deportation for their families as well.
"We have to make a whole new set of standards" for those immigrating to the US.

why I am skeptical

They don’t become angels when you give them a work visa, and they put Americans out of work just the same.
He will and has already but he started by linking crappy treatment of the USA by other nations & trade deals.
There is the mindset that a RINO is by definition not a dedicated operator and thus not trustworthy. We have seen recent Repub leaders in both chambers that would seem to fit that mold, starting with those that coerced Joe Wilson into apologizing for daring to counter Obama's blatant lie during his healthcare speech. With that mindset, perhaps the difference is a degree of deceit, misrepresentation, betrayal.
Of course, whether there is a difference depends on the integrity of the middle of the roader.
I agree
“”We’re going to keep the families together, but they have to go,” he said in the interview”
Ok, I was enjoying the Trumpathon but unsure about him as a candidate. Now, he’s got my vote.
He’s the only one saying illegals need to leave! When liberals whined about separating families, I always said the families could leave too - nobody was stopping them. It was their choice to break our laws and it’s their choice to separate their families.
Donald has the courage we haven’t seen since the 80’s.
Inasmuch as the borders need to be sealed yesterday, this is not the most prominent problem in America today. Not on Christ’s clock, anyway; and He is the Man who is going to wage a hideous war on America if we don’t stop and pay better attention to not JUST our unborn, but their mothers as well.
When a woman gets thrown back into society after an abortion, she makes one CRAPPY girlfriend, wife and/or mother.......... um, for maybe two or three decades... (I speak from experience); hence the discombobulation of families we see in our nation.
Which brings me to Trump’s “families.” He has three. I have no idea what type of husband he has been or father he is to his children, but one thing is true; he has not been able to secure a strong family life with his [previous] wives, or there wouldn’t be more than one.
Someone mentioned on Free Republic that Trump’s current wife has done some scenes naked and with another woman? If this is true, is she sorry for this?
“Chuck, we either have a country, or we don’t have a country”...
ignore the courts. They have no jurisdiction over the POTUS when it comes to foreign affairs and national security.
The rest of the World, particularly Mexico and the rest of Central America, has declared war on the U.S. and it’s culture by sending invading illiterate hoards to bankrupt and destroy our economy.
Oh yeah.
However, we would gently remind you that being able to "secure a strong family life" has eluded quite a few honorable individuals. Further, that being able to do so does not assure a candidate will be a strong and effective president.
Seriously.
He's starting to win me over ........
I prefer “undocumented criminals.”
Keep families together. Deport them together.
Whoa. Sounds like he's already incorporating ideas from Sen. Jeff Sessions, such as REPEALING the 1965 Immigration Act
Perfect!
