Turns out the Mexican government isn't so keen on Donald Trump's assertion that he will make Mexico pay for a wall along America's southern border.

"Of course it's false," a spokesman for Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said of Trump's claim in a Bloomberg interview published Wednesday. "It reflects an enormous ignorance for what Mexico represents, and also the After firestorm over his comments about illegal immigrants, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump travels to the U.S.-Mexico border. CBS News C... Trump, a billionaire businessman who's seeking the Republican presidential nomination, has said repeatedly that the U.S. must build a wall to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

But America won't pay for this wall, according to Trump -Mexico will.

"We're gonna get the wall built...and Mexico's gonna pay for the wall," Trump said Tuesday at a news conference. "And they're gonna be happy about it...because the cost of the wall is peanuts compared to the kind of money they're making. Mexico is becoming the new China."

Trump, who holds a big lead in early polls of the Republican primary field, has made immigration one of the chief focuses of his campaign, inciting controversy with his inflammatory remarks on the subject.

“ok now you have to pay illegal welfare too.”

Excellent idea. I mean really, why are we paying welfare for their citizens?

It reflects an enormous ignorance for what Mexico represents

Some know exactly what Mexico represents. Do you?

If Trump gets elected, they may regret having said “NO”, he has a way of winning. My guess there might be a stop of money transfers out of the country (one of the main reasons the illegals come her is to send money back to their homes). Trump may have numerous other avenues to explore that will “hurt” the Mexican gubmint. Best no upset the Donald and payback can be pretty severe, the cost of that wall may turn out to be peanuts.

Obama told us exactly what he was going to do. Cruz doesn’t have a stellar record on trade. He hasn’t even said things to let us know that he gets it now.

This Texan wants to know on which side of the Rio Grande Donald is planning to build this wall.

US side, and fence landowners from their water source?

Invade Mexico and build it there?

Or maybe right down the middle.

Through Big Bend National Park?? Can you imagine the environmental impact study?

Legitimate questions.

It’s like the old saying “I’m gonna’ kick your ass and make you like it.” Everyone knows the guy’s not gonna’ like it. He may even say he likes it but he really doesn’t.

This is easy. And there are so many things we could do to pound the s**t out of this corrupt country. They'd comply and be happy to play by our rules for once.

One very simple way to get them on board would be due to new changes in border security. Every single vehicle, car, truck everything will be searched and inspected. This is for the safety and security of United States citizens.

The lines of traffic would be backed from Tijuana to Ensenada.☺

A Tarrif on imports would do the trick—how about all the foreign aid they get? That could build a nice Fence. We can use Prison Labor to build the thing. Illegal drug profits could be seized and used. Trump doesn’t play by the rules.

Monterey, pre-cartels, was one of the most charming cities I’ve visited - and this old gal has traveled a lot. That was in the old days, a city surrounded by mountains, full of plazas and flowers and music, a place of beauty and romance.

So sad.

You mean he didn't tell you what you wanted to hear. Or maybe you just didn't
hear or read his stances, or wanted to.

let us know that he gets it

Gets what?

Then again, Mexico may build the wall before the election if Obama crashes the economy.

Iran talked big until Jan 20 and a man named Reagan took the oath of office. They couldn’t wait to rid themselves of their hostages. If the door slams shut and they are up to their butts in Muzzies and Central Americans. You can darn well bet they will do most anything not to have them coming back down from the North as well.

And BTW we do the same at every single port of entry all the way to the gulf.

Yeah, we shuttle those that can’t cross in California your way. You’ve also got sovereign American Indian territory on the border, the Tohono O’odham Nation.

Oh,i soooo understand!

I wheeled into Santa Clara del Cobre [St Clare of Copper] ... I bought lots of it there. But i digress ... I got out of the car, there was a massive pine tree in front of me ... planted in the red , red earth of Michoacan ... and the TREE HAD ORCHIDS CLIMBING UP THE SIDE of the pine tree!!!!

Then the town’s band marched down the hill with dented tubas and ratty trumpets.

I, too, was in love. But Michoacan ... all 18th century architecture, is a drug haven.

You know, another angle that hasn’t been explored in many years is the manifest destiny angle. I mean if we’re going to take the mexican population, why not take the land as well? The northern states of mexico are relatively well off. Could be a nice buffer zone.

Maybe Trump should muse on that a bit. I suspect the mexican government would suddenly find itself very willing to build that wall as well as to cooperate in keeping illegal immigration to a minimum.
