Those are Democrat talking points. He also mentioned the middle class, which is another DEM talking point. I think he is making things up as he goes along.

Has he finally stumbled?

In case you haven't noticed must of his supports are Fanboy/girl types they are a mixture of Democrats and Republicans that will rationalize anything he says. He has gotten the immigration debate out but most of everything else he says is pretty standard for a Democrat.

Hey, Donald...duties, imposts and excises. You know...taxes on goods.

You buy silver flatware instead of stainless steel flatware and you pay the higher tax. You buy a yacht instead of a cabin cruiser and the same thing applies.

You buy the "expensive stuff" so it's easy to see why you don't want a flat tax 'cause you'll finally have pay the taxes you truly owe instead of having your lawyers find loopholes for you so you can evade taxation.

No, most GOP candidates and voters are for a graduated income tax. That’s also what he advocated in his book.

It will be interesting to see the “spin” on this from the Trump supporters here on FR.

This is Trump’s strategy now.....he has big GOP support, but still very weak among the general public, so he is pivoting to build his poll numbers against Clinton, Sanders or other potential rivals.

And do educate yourself, Dumb Donald, on who proposed the progressive income tax you support.

Ending Tax Socialism September 13, 1996

In 1848 Marx and Engels proposed that progressive taxation be used “to wrest, by degrees, all capital from the bourgeois, to centralize all instruments of production in the hands of the state.” Although communism has failed, the idea of progressive taxation, as a means of achieving “social justice,” remains ingrained in the modern liberal psyche.

Your true colors are showing.

As I understand it, Trump wants taxes filled out on a postcard.

Those making up to $30,000 will pay 1 percent.
Income from $30,000 to $100,000 is assessed a flat 5 percent tax.
$100,000 to $1 million income will be taxed at 10 percent.
$1 million or above will be taxed 15 percent.

No exceptions, no loopholes. Not much for the IRS to really do.

I'd prefer the Fair Tax, but Trump's plan does not seem overly Democratic to me.

He’s flailing all over the place. Last week he was for a flat tax. Now he’s for a graduated tax? Whoever is advising him on this stuff is a moron.

Trump has an army of accountants to find every tax loophole possible.

And he didn’t stumble with what he said about Planned Parenthood? Trump said Planned Parenthood did some good things? Didn’t Adolf Hitler build the autobahn and conceive the volkswagon car along with Ferdinand Porsche? When will Conservatives wake up about this poseur?

I don’t get the point of this hysterical post.

He purposes simplifying the tax code. But because he didn’t say he wanted to remove the income tax, which would require a constitutional amendment, that means “OMG LIBRUL”.

Now, even my guy Cruz isn’t even proposing eliminating the income tax. Reagan never even tried. No other candidate is saying much more past what Trump has.

If it’s a first step, then fine.

Finally stumbled?

In the past few weeks he has:

1) Called for continuing to fund Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion activities and glip flopping on the issue 3 times in about a day.

2) Bragged about buying political influence and Hillary Clinton attending his wedding.

3) Called for “merit based” amnesty for the “good” illegal alien invaders.

4) Claimed to be a devout Christian while saying he has NEVER asked God for forgiveness and glibly talking about the “little wine” he takes and the “cracker” he munches on at church.

5) Mocked all POWs by saying, “I like people who DON’T get captured” implying that there is shame in being captured while serving our nation in combat...and this from a 5 deferment draft dodger who has never done anything for his country.

6) Praised nationalized, single payer healthcare.

7) Started a smear campaign against a reporter who dared to ask him a tough question.

His entire campaign has been one stumble after another, but Koolaid Konservatives are too blinded by their irrational worship of this Liberal buffoon to see it.

Trump will fade because of this kind of thing. He’s squishy (and uninformed) on abortion. He’s obviously not for the repeal of the 16th Amendment. There’s no way he’s going to move against fiat money and fractional-reserve banking.

He’s blunt and loud, but he’s NOT a radical—the good kind of radical.

The Stormtrumpers will rationalize this away too.

Expect over 100 posts to surface quickly, accusing you of liking Jeb, not understanding this is part of Trumps secret long game with Cruz, stating he’ll build a wall, reminding us Reagan was once a democrat, proclaiming National Review a RINO/GOPe publication, etc.

Trump is no conservative. Never has been, never will be. He is an opportunist, plain and simple.

While I support him making noise on certain issues, it is beyond me how some people on this forum can consider him a better candidates than a solid conservative like Cruz.

Trump is an idiot on this. Nobody, NOBODY should pay more than 10% to the government. If it’s good enough for the church, it’s more than good enough for the government.

Has he finally stumbled?

After seeing a comparison with Jesus and the money changers, I doubt it. The man could come out in favor of late term abortion and selling the bodies for hog feed and his fans would come up with some formula where its a brilliant plan to end abortion once and for all.
