Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he is against a flat tax and people as they make more and more money can pay a higher percentage in an interview broadcast on Wednesdays Hannity on the Fox News Channel.

Trump has an army of accountants to find every tax loophole possible.
And he didn’t stumble with what he said about Planned Parenthood? Trump said Planned Parenthood did some good things? Didn’t Adolf Hitler build the autobahn and conceive the volkswagon car along with Ferdinand Porsche? When will Conservatives wake up about this poseur?
Correct. They call them sin taxes, one reason is to get you to stop doing them.
Big fallacy IMHO. They do not want you to stop, that would be the Governments excuse for taxing sin more. No, if you stop sinning the Government loses big time, no more high tax income from sinning. They know you don’t have the ability to stop, so pour on the taxes with the fallacious idea that government is concerned about your health. If Government truly was serious about your health, and not about extraction of wealth from your pocket it would ban the substance.
Except, banning things is not pro business. The GOP is generally pro business, the Government is in the business of picking winners and losers based on a lot of variables. One of those variables is how much you make and that is fallacy number two that is destroying the middle class, while elevating the lower class with the “minimum wage”.
In anyone’s world, taxation should be the same percentage for everyone, and that is key, EVERYONE!!!! If anyone rich or poor is exempt, that is the beginning of no one paying what the Democrats love to call, not paying your fair share, but completely ignoring those non payers they have created with the tax code.
And that my friends is how you end up with class warfare and give the democrats more power by letting them have the rich vs poor debate. If equality is what they seek then everyone pays the same and everyone pays.
I don’t get the point of this hysterical post.
He purposes simplifying the tax code. But because he didn’t say he wanted to remove the income tax, which would require a constitutional amendment, that means “OMG LIBRUL”.
Now, even my guy Cruz isn’t even proposing eliminating the income tax. Reagan never even tried. No other candidate is saying much more past what Trump has.
If it’s a first step, then fine.
BTW...To use the argument that the tax code simply needs to be "completely overhauled and simplified" instead of eliminated in its entirety is a classic liberal tactic as well.
Right. Not sure who the anti-Trumpers are, Bushbots, supporters of other candidates, philosophical purists, or Democrat infiltrators.
Finally stumbled?
In the past few weeks he has:
1) Called for continuing to fund Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion activities and glip flopping on the issue 3 times in about a day.
2) Bragged about buying political influence and Hillary Clinton attending his wedding.
3) Called for “merit based” amnesty for the “good” illegal alien invaders.
4) Claimed to be a devout Christian while saying he has NEVER asked God for forgiveness and glibly talking about the “little wine” he takes and the “cracker” he munches on at church.
5) Mocked all POWs by saying, “I like people who DON’T get captured” implying that there is shame in being captured while serving our nation in combat...and this from a 5 deferment draft dodger who has never done anything for his country.
6) Praised nationalized, single payer healthcare.
7) Started a smear campaign against a reporter who dared to ask him a tough question.
His entire campaign has been one stumble after another, but Koolaid Konservatives are too blinded by their irrational worship of this Liberal buffoon to see it.
This might work for an employee that receives a W-2, but not for a 1099 contractor or business owner.
That is why the national sales tax is the only solution that actually simplifies the system.
Trump will fade because of this kind of thing. He’s squishy (and uninformed) on abortion. He’s obviously not for the repeal of the 16th Amendment. There’s no way he’s going to move against fiat money and fractional-reserve banking.
He’s blunt and loud, but he’s NOT a radical—the good kind of radical.
Whether you like the current law or not, that’s what you have to deal with.
You can’t fill out your 1040 on the basis of what you would LIKE the law to be.
Again, you are using class warfare terms like “gaming the system”.
Particularly in a business situation, the law allows some flexibility in the way you treat and report your income and expenses. If one method, properly applied, results in paying less in taxes than an alternate method, also properly applied, then you are allowed to choose the method that is best for you.
That appears to be what you consider “gaming the system”.
Other than the fact that the whole process is overly complicated, there is nothing whatsoever wrong with using the options that the law gives you to your benefit.
The Stormtrumpers will rationalize this away too.
Expect over 100 posts to surface quickly, accusing you of liking Jeb, not understanding this is part of Trumps secret long game with Cruz, stating he’ll build a wall, reminding us Reagan was once a democrat, proclaiming National Review a RINO/GOPe publication, etc.
Please explain how, in your opinion, the term is class warfare.
And just which of Trump’s rivals for the presidency isn’t at least for merit-based amnesty? (Which I vigorously oppose.)
Trump is no conservative. Never has been, never will be. He is an opportunist, plain and simple.
While I support him making noise on certain issues, it is beyond me how some people on this forum can consider him a better candidates than a solid conservative like Cruz.
“It will be interesting to see the spin on this from the Trump supporters here on FR.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The actual tax brackets have a lot less to do with tax reform and government reform.
The much, much more important point is how deductions are handled. Nobody talks about this. Deductions and sweetheart exemptions are where the action is on tax reform.
Trump is an idiot on this. Nobody, NOBODY should pay more than 10% to the government. If it’s good enough for the church, it’s more than good enough for the government.
Iheard about this too. What is described seems Ok. Top bracket 15? Much better than now.
re>He is a Democrat
SO WAS REAGAN! Conservatives eat their own.
