Target is bringing Americans one step closer to a gender-neutral society.
The department store chain announced what it called something exciting Friday. After some customers complained about certain toys being designated as appropriate for girls, it is doing away with signs denoting gender classifications.
Over the past year, guests have raised important questions about a handful of signs in our stores that offer product suggestions based on gender, according to Targets online publication, A Bullseye View.
Toys no longer will be labeled according to sex and displayed on either pink or blue shelving. Gender-neutral signage also will appear in the childrens bedding section. The only place gender labels will remain is in the childrens clothing department.
The gender-labeling brouhaha began last June when Target customer and Ohio mother Abi Bechtel snapped a photo of Target signage indicating Building Sets and Girls Building Sets and tweeted it to the chain along with a stern message.

LOL! Our Mall (Natick Collection) is one of the largest on the East Coast, and had always had JC Penney as one of the 4 anchors. Until now. It’s going, to be replaced by Wegman’s.
In other news, my "Angie's List" subscription ended this past month. When I contacted them to tell them NOT to renew, I told them it was because of the company's opposition to religious freedom.
I was offered 50% off another year's membership. I refused.
These corporate fascists who hate freedom will lose my business as best I am able.
I have to pass a Target store to get to any shopping. I will continue going out of my way to avoid the place.
Oh dear I forgot to be offended about this!
99.99 % of their customers want to have gender separated items..
Actually, that’s probably not too far off.
“Hard” gender identification is a “micro-aggression” against transsexuals.
I think it was recently that happened because of dissing the Trumpster...
I’ve been “boycotting” Macy’s for years because they hire libs like Susan Sarandon for their ads - like her lib opinions don’t matter to us plebes who are expected to spend our hard earned moola there...heh.
I think the governor of MN is a Target Dayton he is a crazy lib
Hello, MILLS FLEET FARM.
What is this ‘Target’ they talk about?
Weren’t they the ones who lost $billions trying to enter the Canadian market, lacking a supply chain set up?
Now they go totally PC, pi**img off the vast majority of Americans. Is it management arrogance or just stupidity? Sounds like it is well past the times for a shareholder uprising!
It appears to me that TARGET has pinned a large TARGET on their own back. Good move guys (That is sexist, huh?)
“and God gave them over to depravity.......”
That whole chapter could have been written today based on what is going on.
Target is just a low budget Walmart at best. I never go in there.
Never shopped at that junk store anyway....
Those who are perpetually angry have to START somewhere.
Be patient, they will get to the other stuff.
Unless businesses wake up and take notice to the J C Penney solution.
You are so lucky! When we moved we had to leave Wegman’s and it one of the few things I miss. What a great tradeoff.
Did you buy it from the boy's kitchen appliance section or the girl's?
Don’t do much shopping myself. Basically there are four big name stores:
Wal-Mart
Food Lion
Lowe’s
Harbor Freight Tools
Oh yeah, and auto parts stores NAPA and O’Reilly’s.
The queers in our town are completely lost without J.C. Penny.
Most thought that j. C. was one of them but couldn’t find him.
