Iowa high school science teacher John Cisna weighed 280 pounds and wore a size 51 pants.
Then he started eating at McDonalds.
Every meal. Every day. For 180 days.
By the end of his experiment, Cisna was down to a relatively svelte 220 and could slip into a size 36.
Cisna, who is Birmingham today and Wednesday to speak at a rally for area McDonald's managers, earned a new nickname, too.
"In all those (previous) years, my nickname with my buddies was 'Snack Bar,''' Cisna said. "You know what they call me now? 'Snack Bar Jr.'"
What turned out to be a life-changing experience for the now-56-year-old Cisna began in January 2014 as a classroom experiment for three students in Cisna's sophomore science class at Colo-Nesco High School in tiny Colo, Iowa.
"Because three of the kids were going on to college in the medical field, I had an idea, 'Hey, how would you like to prove or disprove this hypothesis: Is it possible for a person to become better off eating nothing but McDonald's for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 90 days?'," Cisna said in an interview with AL.com today. "That's how it got started."

That's exactly what I was thinking. He's probably going to continue losing weight.
Using individual photos with PhotoShop those stomach pic’s are simple to slim down. I can even grow hair on a gradual curve.
Thank you so much. I will find that book.
I gave up anything artificial years ago. I don’t eat margarine, artificial sweetners, cool whip, etc. Just the thought of what margarine is makes me nauseous.
he changed his diet and was walking 45 minutes a day for 4-5 days a week. Eating 3 times a day at McDonalds was no longer relevant.
Heck I played soccer in High School for three hours a day in 90 degree heat/100% and could eat three Big Macs like nothing and would still lose weight.
I don’t eat at McDonalds and I’m not overweight. I eat healthy food and go to the gym each day. I’m not saying that one can’t find healthy food at McDonalds, but I will say that healthy food isn’t the secret of the success that they’ve had.
“< 2000 calories per day and walking 45 minutes a day four to five days a week “
I didn’t eat McDonald’s for every single meal, but this is more or less what I did at the beginning of 2012 when I decided I really needed to lose weight. The big changes for me were 1) cutting back on my alcohol consumption, and 2) getting off my butt and doing a little exercise.
I started off walking about two miles a day, but as the weight came off and I started to feel a bit better at the end of those walks I gradually increased it. At one point during this program I was actually walking close to SIX miles each day.
Over the course of about eight months I was able to lose a little over 30 pounds. I should mention I’m considerably smaller in stature than the subject of this article though.
I’m 6’1”, 210, still losing. Gained a lot of weight after quitting smoking. 38” waist.
I walk about an hour, brisk pace and drink lots of water. Lots of fruit, meat and vegetables. NordicTrak bike in cold weather. Going to quit at 199 lbs, 36” after trading fat for muscle.
Find what works for you and go for it. You’ll feel better. You can do it if you want it.
Unless backgrounds are solid colored usually photoshops get distorted.
it depends on your muscle mass I am a muscular 6-2 225 same as when I was 21...still wear size 36
The smell of rancid fat at McDonald’s takes away my appetite. I should go in there regularly.
I’m 6’0” and weigh 242 and wear size 36w 38L jeans from Old Navy (either loose or boot cut) but I require 38w 38L in dress pants. I have pretty big frame but do have a pot belly and no ass like Hank Hill :)
I'm 6'1" 230, fit well in regular relaxed fit 38" inch jeans. Larger up top though (size 50 suit jacket).
I lost a pound a day.

Sounds like a good plan to me.
I could if I can get my back worked on or at least be treated for it. I have about 8 herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and peripheral neuropathy. Since the first of the year when the insurance quit paying for my medication, I am essentially bed ridden.
Because of Obamacare were are broke, savings gone, facing paying $900 per month at the first of the year for insurance that won’t pay to treat me.
WooHoo! Thanks Obama.
I’ve been dealing with this for 10 years, but kept working for 8, because of the meds.
Hopefully one day I’ll be back to walking some. I Pray for it everyday.
Twinkie diet helps nutrition professor lose 27 pounds

Eating at McDonald’s three times a day would be enough to stop anybody from eating at all!!
You will be in my prayers, friend.
What on earth happened to cause you so much damage to your back?
I’m 5’10 201lb and fit in a 34 with a belt or 32 sucking it in. 33’s are hard to find but they fit perfect. Sometimes it’s just how we carry the weight. Some have dickydo. Their gut sticks out farther than their dickydo.
Not long ago I was 225 with a 36” waist. dropping the 8-12 cans of Dr Pepper a day is what did it for me.
Some of it’s genetic, but in 2000 the wife was driving our rig, and I was in the bunk when a limo pulled out in front of her at a blind intersection in IA.
I instantly went from asleep in the bunk to wrapped around the gear shift at her feet. At the time I didn’t seem to be hurt too bad, but I guess I was wrong.
I started having numbness in my legs about 6 months after. and in 04 was first diagnosed with the bad discs.
