You Are a BBQ Chip

You are down to earth and practical, but not too practical. You still like to have fun.
You are quite charming, and people enjoy being around you. You naturally take on the host or hostess role.

You are generally easygoing, but people can try your patience. You prefer to lead a group if you can.
You are always down to have some fun, and you're likely to think some up if things get a little too dull.

That would be great! I don’t expect to make it to Texas again. Do you ever get to the Carolinas?

I’m hanging in there...my hands are extra sore today, and my back is having spasms...but otherwise, I’m ok. How are you?

...and thank you for hugging that Roxy baby for me. I had a shih Tzu named Little Louie 20 years ago. I lost him to not being able to have him in my rented home, and the people who were keeping him for me gave him away without telling me they were going to. Then I had my Trixie baby...she was shih Tzu and Chihuahua mix...I lost her in a violent way...I still cry over her and it’s been 4 years ago. So thank you...I’m pleased to be considered Roxy’s Auntie!

I’m sorry about your loss of both Louie and Trixie. It’s always painful when we lose a baby, even the furry ones.

I’m doing well, and still getting better by the day. (See tagline). I had to put Hubby in a VA nursing home during my surgery and recovery. It has worked out very well in most aspects, but horrifyingly bad in another.

We’ve been begging the VA and Medicare for over a year to provide a wheelchair, ramp for the house, lift for the vehicle, and some other equipment and services. Once he went into the VA nursing home, they came through with a power scooter, manual wheelchair, aluminum ramp for the front of the house, and they’ve promised a lift for the vehicle in the next couple weeks. He’s getting three delicious meals every day (they have great cooks), the staff is friendly and attentive. They’re taking very good care of him, except for one thing.

In the past few months he’s had a problem with edema, which results in fragile skin, and sores. He’s diabetic, so he doesn’t heal easily. When his skin breaks, I take him to a wound care clinic here in town, and they apply compression bandages. When he went to the VA, he had no wounds, but after just a few days the skin on his leg broke open. That was about four weeks ago. They keep telling me it’s getting better, but I haven’t been able to see it. I made it a point to be there when the bandage was supposed to be changed, but nobody showed up that day to change it. I asked to see the pictures they took during bandage changes, but the nurse couldn’t find them.

Finally, a couple days ago, Hubby called me on FaceTime after his shower, when the bandage was off. He pointed his iPad camera at his leg, and it was hideous! It looks like hamburger meat. Some areas look white, like there’s no blood flow. I went immediately to the wound care center here in town, and showed them the pictures. They gave him their next available appointment, this Monday.

He’s being discharged to come home this Friday. If he had to stay at the VA, eventually his leg would rot and fall off. If I had known how badly they were neglecting his leg, I would have been taking him out to the wound care center every week.

When the nurse called me today to CYA, she said he had bumped into an ice machine a couple days ago. Like that would explain the rotting flesh!

I need to call him one more time before he goes to bed. Sorry about the rant, but I had to get that off my chest.

Have a blessed night.

LOL! Thanks. The first one really went well, so I have an idea how this one should go. It will be nice to have both “new” eyes working together.
