National Nurses Union Endorses Bernie Sanders over Clinton

Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders received the endorsement of a major union Monday.

National Nurses United, the nation's largest organization of nurses, picked the Vermont senator over Hillary Clinton as its preferred presidential candidate. The union cited Sanders' "proven track record of uncompromised activism and advocacy for working people, and a message that resonates with nurses, and, as we have all seen, tens of thousands of people across the country."

The union announced its choice at a conference in Oakland, Calif., where the independent senator was speaking.

The nearly 185,000 member-strong union held an internal poll, by which its members expressed "overwhelming support" for Sanders.

The announcement is a blow to presumptive Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Poor Hillary; it just keeps getting worse. Bernie draws 28,000 at a weekend rally in Portland, OR and now this. Can't a girl catch a break?

Compare the approach used by the media shills — “endorses Bernie Sanders over Clinton”, vs:

CIVIL WAR ON THE RIGHT

Oy Vey!

185,000 nurses are so effing stupid that they support an admitted socialist for president!?

I guess they want to end up making just enough money to buy a hunk of bread and a bar of soap to wash with... ala Venezuela

Morons!

Beam me up!

The article stated that they wanted better bargaining rights for better wages. I know two RNs who only work weekends and make $30 an hour.

“”We are going to make healthcare a right of all of our people!” Sanders said at the event. “We are going to make it easier, not harder, for nurses and millions of Americans to join unions and collectively bargain for better wages and benefits!””

Where does it end Bernie? Do you support all physicians forming a union? Anything that requires the sacrifice and effort of one group of people to provide a product or service to another group of people can never be a “right”, unless you take away the rights of the group that does the providing.

These people act as though medical care is like air - something that just ‘exists’.

I’m an RN and I make a good wage. I have no idea what this group is whining about

There are almost 4,000,000 nurses in this country. An organization of 185,000 puts it at Third Party status.

Nurses are in demand, and their skills travel well. Even getting older isn't the end of the world as it could be for a 19th century construction worker. They really don't need union representation for wages and salaries, as they can change hospitals easily. It is not like being in a coal town with one employer. That is probably why there is no UAW equivalent for nurses.
