Fox News is facing a backlash from conservatives after critics felt the network was biased and unfair in the manner it approached the forum for the Republican presidential candidates' debate Thursday, and namely, Donald Trump.
According to Media Equalizer, tens of thousands of observers swamped social media with criticism of Fox and the moderators, with some comments attracting more than 2,000 "likes."
"This was shameful. You and Fox News did not treat the candidates fairly. You tried to make Donald J. Trump look foolish. All you did was make Fox News look foolish."
"Donald J. Trump still has my vote," said one post which appeared on the network's Facebook page and received over 2,200 "likes" just two hours after it was posted.
Another post representative of the sentiment was addressed to Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly and Fox News. It said the two "should be ashamed of themselves for their unfair demeanor towards Donald Trump. They apparently had their own agenda. Trump still did his thing though! #Trump2016"
"Megyn, you're an embarrassment to journalism. I wanted to watch a presidential debate, not a hit job by you and Fox," another observer wrote.
Twitter was also flooded with criticism of Kelly and Fox.
"Tonight's debate loser: Fox News," said one post.
"#GOPDebate NOT A DEBATE! It's @FoxNews vs @realDonaldTrump! What a disgrace! @magynkelly & @BretBaier shameful! #tcot," said another.
"WTF @FoxNews ???????? THIS DEBATE IS A SETUP TO SLAM EVERYBODY EXCEPT JEB BUSH. YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED AT THIS JOURNALISTIC DISHONESTY," yet another poster commented.
For his part, Trump lashed out at Kelly on his Twitter page.

Fox is like all the big media. They are defenders of the status quo political machine. I remember how they deliberately started to distance themselves from the Tea Party. Now they have this crap debate with questions that could’ve been designed by any far left host and of course if Trump had criticized the host of MSNBC it would’ve been different but because we have a Host in Kelly who seemed to think the debate was more about her than letting the candidates introduce themselves to the nation and talk about real issues like immigration, jobs, and selling off baby parts she instead made it about playing gotcha. Prebius said the debates this year would be different. It was horrible. I personally think Prebius is a genuine guy but these antics are just causing me to lose even more faith in the GOP. They are mad a Trump for doing what any one of those candidates could do. He is tapping into the very real and very justified angst of people who have been disaffected and who rightly feel the game is being stacked against them while screw balls like Jeb Bush go on about the “Act of love” illegal immigration represents.
The metaphor of blood coming out of her eyes and ears speaks of the Ebola sickness. There was a sickness that night. I hope it does not infect the body politics.

Her first words to him at the debate were Mr. Trump everyone knows you don’t have a filter for the things you say. She has zippo credibility. She went into it knowing he had no filter.
To take it one step further, Trump's whole schtick is doing things like calling people pigs, and then, when other people criticize him for it, turning around and insulting THOSE people too. This whole thing is nothing new, and it's nothing but an attention-grabbing act by attention-whore Trump.
Then I’m sure that you had no problem with Princess Megyn sucking up to her friend Debbie Wasserman Schulz afterward, right?
