Fox News is facing a backlash from conservatives after critics felt the network was biased and unfair in the manner it approached the forum for the Republican presidential candidates' debate Thursday, and namely, Donald Trump.
According to Media Equalizer, tens of thousands of observers swamped social media with criticism of Fox and the moderators, with some comments attracting more than 2,000 "likes."
"This was shameful. You and Fox News did not treat the candidates fairly. You tried to make Donald J. Trump look foolish. All you did was make Fox News look foolish."
"Donald J. Trump still has my vote," said one post which appeared on the network's Facebook page and received over 2,200 "likes" just two hours after it was posted.
Another post representative of the sentiment was addressed to Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly and Fox News. It said the two "should be ashamed of themselves for their unfair demeanor towards Donald Trump. They apparently had their own agenda. Trump still did his thing though! #Trump2016"
"Megyn, you're an embarrassment to journalism. I wanted to watch a presidential debate, not a hit job by you and Fox," another observer wrote.
Twitter was also flooded with criticism of Kelly and Fox.
"Tonight's debate loser: Fox News," said one post.
"#GOPDebate NOT A DEBATE! It's @FoxNews vs @realDonaldTrump! What a disgrace! @magynkelly & @BretBaier shameful! #tcot," said another.
"WTF @FoxNews ???????? THIS DEBATE IS A SETUP TO SLAM EVERYBODY EXCEPT JEB BUSH. YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED AT THIS JOURNALISTIC DISHONESTY," yet another poster commented.
For his part, Trump lashed out at Kelly on his Twitter page.

I don't know if you're equating Trump to a ponzi artist, or if you're merely using that as an analogy to describe the way you feel about his candidacy.
If it's the former, I disagree, for the simple fact that Donald Trump has lived (and earned) a life of success far beyond the measure of most humans' wildest dreams. He has no need to snooker anyone for any reason, in that area.
He's conquered goals and vanquished foes of all types throughout his career, and has little to prove to himself or anyone else, at this point. He's the proverbial 'king of the mountain', so what's motivating him to run for the presidency?
There's actually no logical answer to that question, except that he honestly wants to parlay his power, influence, business management skills, force of personality, and dogged determination as a man, to help correct the disastrous course this country is on.
There can be no other reason, because he has no other mountains to climb in this life. The presidency isn't a step up for him, a feather in his cap, or yet another trophy on his mantle. It's commitment of terrible proportions - an invitation to take on something few honest men would relish. It's a willing step into the jaws of hell - that is, if you're actually intent on doing the sort of job he's talking about.
If your intent is to simply play president like most who've held the office, then it's a step into riches and boundless lifelong perks, which is what most of his competitors would do, if elected.
What would Donald Trump gain by functioning like that, as president? Tell me how playing ball with the DC cartel would gain him anything he doesn't already have in life? Things that he built or achieved with his own hands, on his own terms, without having to suck up to, or play ball with decrepit oligarchs?
Not a damn thing, which leaves only one reason he wants your vote. It's to enable him to roll up his sleeves and do the job Americans have been pleading with their leaders to do for decades now.
Badda binggggg~~~~!
One down, few more to go.....
Great job Laz!
You're good, bro! IBTZ!
Thanks for answering the bugle call to arms :-)
WOOF!
I think I teared up a lil ;)
Reminds me that I still need to clean my AR. Probably get some time off for the hot temps this week, so I'll get on it.
Merely using that as an analogy to describe the way you feel about his candidacy. Its like being in the middle of a real life ‘Fast and Furious’ Race and trying to wave down the cars because the bridge ahead is out.
Trump has alreay said Bill Clinton was one of our best Presidents. If that’s what he thinks then no thanks.
But don’t let me stop you! ;-)
Trump has alreay said Bill Clinton was one of our best Presidents. If thats what he thinks then no thanks.
Trump knows that some folks hold his past statements against him. I've watched him talk about that, and it's one of the few times you can detect real humility in him.
Watch his video from CPAC 2011 and see if you don't notice humility in his eyes when he admits to the audience that he formerly held some liberal positions. Granted, it's quick, but it's there if you watch for it.
And he's completely open about it - even saying that he understands if some people refuse to accept that he's grown as a person since holding those views. I think he understands that he'll never be able to convince some people that his views today are conservative.
And I am most certainly one. He is still to this day far to close to the Clintons for me to trust him. Anyone that would even except a call from Bill is tainted.
We will just have to agree to disagree.
Of course they will. And Trump will sic his opposition research army on Stone and everyone who hires him.
Checkmate.
This could get real ugly by the time all is said and done...
I need to stock up on popcorn! ;)
Oh...AND
Cruz or Lose!
I'm all for that, but I don't think it's gonna be Ted's this time around. If he goes in as Trump's VP, we will have a President Cruz in 2020 or 2024.
Windy, I agree with your assessment.
I am hoping for some kind of synergy to develop between Trump and Cruz.
Trump can clear the way, be Prez for four years and then help VP Cruz to victory in 2020.
Trump and Cruz would make a very powerful, awesome team, very complimentary to each other.
When I saw the picture of Cruz’s daughters sitting with Melania Trump, it came into focus.
Trump is taking the slings and arrows as the frontrunner right now, better than anyone else ca. And those slings and arrows would be directed at Cruz, if Trump were not in the way. The GOP-E now is naked in their hatred of both men.
Sure, I wouldn’t mind Cruz winning next year.
But it seems America is in the mood for someone to really shake up things.
Should Trump start naming members of his Cabinet and Ted as VP,and presenting his “team” for the campaign, I think a political revolution could be ignited.
It may be too soon to do this, but I think that would help. Then America knows what it would get with a Trump Presidency.
It’s 15 months to Nov. 2016, and that is a lifetime in politics.
But the thought of voting for anyone other than Trump or Cruz makes me ill.
Like!
That’s true. He’s established his trolldom through hard work.
ZOT, ZOT, ZOT...
Excellent work, bro!
