An incredibly dangerous mission, one that--despite later claims--did have a major effect on the war because the breaching of these two dams seriously affected German war production for nearly a year.

I found the technology involved absolutely fascinating.
Using a pair of spotlights to provide an altitude reference, and spinning the bomb backwards so it would sink instead of skipping, were really brilliant.
