An early (accurate) prediction about the Trump candidacy (Jack Cashill - short but good)
American Thinker ^ | Jack Cashill

Posted on 08/04/2015 6:16:24 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

“Donald Trump is already doomed: Why his campaign is a bigger disaster than his hair,” screamed the headline of a July 6 Salon headline.

The TV billionaire has only just announced his candidacy--yet he's already made enough mistakes to last a lifetime.

In fact, Trump was not doomed at all. On June 10 of this year, a week before Trump announced his candidacy, I explained why. “The Republican nominee for president,” I wrote, “will be that candidate who best learns that there is no future in apologizing.”

When I wrote this, I had no idea Trump was planning to run for president.

In the subsequent two months, he raced to the top of the polls not because of his character or his wealth or his policy positions, but precisely because he has refused to apologize for the provocative things he has said.

...they can wait till a more agenda- appropriate time to inject Trump poison into the campaign...

I'd say that well is about dry.

People need to stop looking for nebulous stratagems, and accept what "is."

I am so sick and tired of hearing this type of drivel. Listen up folks ... why would Trump put everything on the line to throw the election to somebody else. It DOES NOT make any sense. Get over it, he’s in this to win it.

If he's slick enough to fool Sara Palin, he's slick enough to fool me.

There’s nothing in Trump’s history to support any theory that he would ever be someone else’s buttboy.

The political chattering class cannot think in any other terms, though. They are wedded to parsing and wonking and basically can’t see the forest for the trees. It’s in their nature to see everyone else as the covert sneaks that they are.

Jack is a great writer and I go along with most of what he said in this article, except the closing remark where he hopes the other candidates take a hint from Trump and not apologize all the time. The problem with this ‘hope’ is that you either have this character trait in you or you do not. By that I mean, this ‘no back down demeanor’ is an inbred character trait and can’t be put on or made up.

Crossing the aisle, or joining with them, is a total loss.

Just once in my life I would like to see a conservative walk to the isle, and flip the bird to the other side.

They descend from Leod, who was the son of Olaf the Black who acquired the Islands of Lewis, Harris and Skye. Olaf died abt 1273.
They are Norse, and not true Scotty Irish.
The two main branches..which came from sons are, Siol Thormoid and Siol Thorcail. And they fought like cats and dogs with each other.
Rory Mor, one of the most celebrated of the Thormoid branch, spent freely on social and economic improvements for those who were in favor to them. They stood by those who stood by them.

Why the moniker of “ Yeb “ for Jeb Bush? If you are meaning to use a Mexican pronunciation of his first name, it should be “ Heb “ , as the J is pronounced like an H in Spanish.

Perhaps you are meaning to pronounce it like in German or Swedish, with a “Y” sound for the J?

Of course.

The left views apologies as a sign of weakness.

When was the last time any liberal apologized for something they personally said or did?

Jeb will never be president—or even get the Nod —his last talk, following Hillary—Proved that. She dissed him—he never rebutted her charges and just gave his “safe” written Speach. Imagine if that was Trump? he would have cut her off at the knees. People may try to use Trump—but he’s his own man—and will use them.
