Monmouth Poll: 52 Percent View Trump Favorably (the Revolution has begun)

Donald Trump is, of course, the GOP frontrunner. This explains why, like other polls before it, a brand new Monmouth University survey shows him in first place, ahead of Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL), Scott Walker (R-WI), and everyone else. (Only these two candidates, by the way, registered double-digit support with Trump in the race). And while many of us expect The Donald’s reign of relevance to end or implode eventually, there’s no denying the fact he's sittin' pretty heading into Thursday night’s primetime debate:

Is this among GOP primary voters, or among all voters?

I totally see what is going.

People are so desperate for a savior they are willing to throw every principle they ever had and stomp on them for a con man!

My take on Trump is that he is a businessman and relies on input to make good decisions.
Unlike all other politicians, he is not beholden to anyone for campaign contributions and can base his decisions on the constituents. Trump has a reason to listen to the American people and not corporate or gov.inc for funds. He also has the opportunity to be great at being president as an agenda.

Trump is a hollow show man, he’s running a con.

Trump supports higher taxes, unions, nationalized healthcare, wants restrictions on the second amendment, Bill Clinton was his favorite President for a reason.

His donations to politicians and the Clinton Foundation show this plainly. He is not anything close to being conservative.

The only defense I have seen of this is “That’s how things get done”, so his defenders admit he is a crooked crony capitalist. They act like that is a good thing.

Without principles we lose.

period.

Without Principles we win, but we win nothing. Look at Congress, we “won” with the lesser evil and we got .... evil.

Now people want to win with a phony crony?

Why are people refusing to learn any lessons?

Winning without principles is NOT winning.

I’ve tried to tell the entire anti-Trump clown posse that none of Trump’s past indiscretions compare to the absolute criminal pounding ‘we the people’ have absorbed from both GOP and Dem politicians. Many of us are simply done with voting for another career politician. Those of you that argue in favor of continuing down the same path that got us here, are poster children for the low information voter.

And so far the only other candidate with him in that fight is Cruz.

Since Cruz supports Trump, you have to wonder who these creatures are here on FreeRepublic that trash Trump.

Phony Crony Trump is a clown

I will vote for real conservatives and not people like Bonehead and McConnell.

Ted Cruz is the real deal. Look away from the liberal media spotlight and you’ll see that too.

"Ted Cruz is the real deal. "

Too bad Cruz is not Constitutionally eligible to be president.

Unlike you, as a Texan, I’ve already cast a vote for Cruz.

As far as Trump goes, you miss the point completely. This country is becoming very anti-establishment and he’s the only candidate in our lifetime willing to risk his personal wealth and reputation to call every single politician/Marxist/media member out. No more ‘go along to get along’. For that he deserves major props.

"I think it is not so much approval of Trump as extreme disapproval of the federal government establishment."

I agree I think in this case people agree with the message more than the messenger himself.

I`m a solid Cruz supporter too, but I`m keeping my eyes open, along with my opinion. CRUZ FOR NOW, but in the meantime lets see if the real Trump surfaces, it`s a long way till election day.

Trump likes to pop off which also demonstates a character flaw that is going to come back and haunt him.
In addressing a religious forum he minimized receiving communion to “eating a “cracker” or being unable to beg God’s forgiveness because he does no wrong. Demonstrated to me he has an insolent arrogant intolerant streak in him that I don’t want to see in a President and did it for me.

The media is downplaying that forum now but if he makes it beyond September we’re gonna hear about this and more until November 2016

Trump is like kicking an anthill. He has both the Repubs and Dems scurrying around like crazy. He’s been fun to watch.

Bush is the only establishment candidate in the top 5.

Conservatives had better get behind one or two candidates in the next six months. Or the goitered RINO will be nominated and throw the election to whatever Dim he faces in November '16.

Democrats loathe everything about Trump. GOPe is pedal-to-the-metal deriding, sliming and lying about him. LSM is non-stop "Trump will drop out any time now." But he has over 50% approval. Hmmm...
