Santorum Protests GOP Debate Rules: 'Polls Mean Nothing

...former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, one of those likely to be relegated to an afternoon consolation face-off, attacked the criteria for making the choice.

"National polls mean nothing," Santorum said Sunday during an appearance on ABC's "This Week." The Pennsylvanian directed his fire at both Fox News, the TV network co-hosting the debate with Facebook, and the Republican National Committee, which sanctioned the debate. "It's just an arbitrary figure, and unfortunately, the national networks and the RNC have gone along with this irrelevant measure of legitimacy of candidacy."

ox has said it will assign the 17 major candidates their places on Tuesday, based on an average of five national polls. Santorum, who won the Iowa caucuses four years ago, now lurks in the back of the Republican pack, with just 1 percent of voters supporting him, according to a new Wall Street Journal /NBC News poll.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, one of the candidates whose participation still hangs in the balance, said he's not worried.

"You know, I'll be very happy on Tuesday when the standings come out and I'm in there,"...

Billionaire Donald Trump, who has been leading virtually every poll...

"I'm not a debater," Trump said over the phone on CBS's Face the Nation. "I don't stand up and debate like these politicians. They're all talk, no action. All they do is their whole life they debate and then they don't get things done. I get things done."

Ohio Governor John Kasich, who may make the cut, ...

"This debate comes six months before the selection of a single delegate," he said. "What I've been focusing on is out there in the grass roots."

He’s still a no talent bum who sold out conservatives with Specter and then again with his 2006 failed campaign.

Santorum and Biden keep popping up...there must be an election coming. Is Pat Paulson dead? Maybe he and Nadar should sign up too.

Trump is “wet,” as they say in England, on immigration. He wants to throw the bums out then bring back the not yet felons from among them.

We all have our issues. IMO thats minor compared to a guy like Romney that profits from Abortion. But That didn’t stop millions from voting for him.

Riding up on top of that car was probably one of the dog’s life experience highlights, a canine E-Ticket. If he did it to Santorum, well ... not so much.

If Cruz, Trump or Walker where to be relegated to the consolation face off without anyone else being excluded from the main event then the consolation face off would be the main event.

A candidate who can’t deal with reality is not fit to be president. The reality is that Santorum is not catching fire. He talks big government and intervention on one issue and then flip flops to small government on another issue. And the flip flops are not well executed.

In contrast, Trumps rejection of logical consistency makes Trump look attractive. And most of the others with inconsistencies are more articulate than Santorum.

Santorum clearly did not learn from his past run and did not prepare himself for this run. If he had, he would have taken a class in Economics 101. He seems to know neither the Keynesian, Friedman, Hayek or any other appoach to economics. He just makes no sense on economics.

No Rick, the problem is you.

Look, in 2012 you were one of a few people who espoused decent views. I thought you looked pretty good, but you couldn’t win even in that environment.

Now we have several new people espousing decent values. You’re drowned out.

You’re not Richard Nixon level guy, that’s going to come back after defeat and win. You didn’t get there in the first place.

Look at Walker and Cruz’s numbers. Then look at your own. And then look at Trump’s, which tower above everyone’s.

You’re not a knight in shining armor this time around. You’re nothing but a distraction. You should withdraw from the race and talk 13 of your friends into joining you.

Of course he’s right. It’s all completely arbitrary.

It would also be arbitrary if he was meeting their arbitrary criteria, although I seriously doubt you would hear him saying it if that were the case.

Of course, it’s just as arbitrary to say that there are only 17 “major” Republican candidates.

The money, the media, and their manipulators are deciding who you get to vote for. That’s the way our system now works, because We the People let them get away with it.

One strange thing about 2012 is that Santorum was as nasty as anyone in the debates towards the others....and all along, talk radio kept giving him credit for being above the fray. That’s bullsh-t. Check the tape. Rickie was a little nasty boi, more than anyone maybe.

I believe that the upcoming Election is to choose the next dictator or to make of show of voting for a dictator who is already chosen. i believe a Soros company is still in charge of counting the votes from at least the touchscreen voting machines and there is no recounting possible once they are downloaded. The count is what they say it is. Period.
I suspect that millions of illegals will be given sudden citizenship in late summer or early fall next year. Clinton set that precedent, though it was hundreds of thousands, not millions. There were citizenship ceremonies in sports arenas around the country. It may have got him over the electoral hump in his re-election.
I suspect that states that have Voter ID laws will be prevented from enforcing them and from challenging IDs.
If a conservative does become the next President he will only have influence if he uses the dictatorial powers heretofore granted to the Executive by the Congress and the Court because he will almost certainly be facing a Democrat House and Senate, perhaps overwhelmingly Democrat with much more Communist will power than possessed by the Congress with which Reagan had to deal. Why on earth would conservatives bother to vote for Senators and Congressmen after the total disaster of the last two off year elections? Fool me once, fool me twice, but three times?

the “nice guy” theme is wrong anyway....it’s his clean cut look and perpetual underdog status, but he’s a nasty little bitch....truth be known.

Yes indeed that’s an idea right there, then there would be no need to watch the anticlimactic second show.

>> that’s minor compared to a guy like Romney that profits from Abortion <<

I don’t consider the minimum wage minor. It’s among our most destructive economic policies, in that the teenage unemployment it has created over the past 60 years is one of the primary causes of social decay in black and hispanic ghettos.

When it comes to the comparison with Romney, it looks to me as if you’re saying that two wrongs make a right. The fact that Romney may have done bad things should not be your justification for excusing Santorum’s economic ignorance.

No, I just consider profiting from dead babies somewhat higher on the scale of wrong than others do and put it in perspective.

[Polls Mean Nothing]

[”You know, I’ll be very happy on Tuesday when the standings come out and I’m in there,”..]

Why would he be happy if he’s ‘in there’ when it would be polls that put him there, as he said, polls mean nothing.

Moron
