WASHINGTON -- Donald Trump thinks the United States will not see another black president for some time because Barack Obama has "set a very poor standard," the billionaire businessman, entertainer and Republican presidential candidate told ABC News on Sunday. Trump -- who has questioned whether Obama was born in the United States and was once sued by the Justice Department because the management of his apartment complexes allegedly discriminated against black tenants -- also thinks he'll win the black vote.
Trump responded to a question on the show about a tweet he sent last year saying America would not see another black president for generations because of how poorly he thought Obama had done.
"He has done nothing for African Americans. You look at what's gone on with their income levels. You look at what's gone on with their youth. I thought that he would be a great cheerleader for this country. I thought he'd do a fabulous job for the African American citizens of this country. He has done nothing," Trump said.

How ‘bout no lawyers either?
He’s right, unless the RAT party runs a black homosexual, or a black transvestite, or a black woman. With the idiots that are allowed to vote, thus hastening the demise of America, they’ll vote for anything different. Just for the fun of it.
That is good too. That leaves us with Trump, Fiorina, Carson, Paul, and Walker.. Everyone else has a law degree.. I could be wrong.
Well, lets be honest. The liberals would try and destroy any conservative black person who tried running for office. They are the real racists.
Theoretically, the election of Barack Obama should show everyone that America is not racist and bigoted and all that.
Reason being, there’s no way any president can get elected without significant support from white voters.
And while some voters may well have voted for McCain and Romney respectively, out of racism, there were also some who voted for Obama specifically due to race.
the point is, America has changed quite a bit in recent decades. While the America of 1950 and 1960 and 1970 would never have elected a minority president, the America of 2008 proved that racial barriers no longer exist for any elective office.
Yet in spite of Obama’s election, we still hear so much bitching about racism and are lectured how black lives matter and all that.
Old news that will be dragged out. Trumps never been bashful about speaking his mind. Nothing here that is racist, just common sense. Obama was elected because of the color of his skin as for any other reason. He failed to deliver.
Of course. But this truth will boost his popularity, too, as the media will hammer him with it for the next month.
I'm listening right now to Kasich say, "he won't be sending too many of those tweets again," and "this isn't how I do things." Chris Wallace was also amused, to no one's surprise.
For me they can flush all the Ivy Leaguers too, although I might give Trump a pass on that one since he started at Fordham.
He’s remembering what happened to Dinkins.
From the Huffington Post????? REALLY?????
Nope, I don’t believe he said that.....
More MSM trying to ‘make up’ the news....
Must be a very slow day today....
When I first read Roman history, I wondered how they could have been so foolish. I had a lot to learn.
Another true statement from Trump. Amazing how amazing it is to get such naked truth from a presidential candidate.
Not going to happen.
They are afraid of Trump because he speaks the truth.
Well how many candidates and potential candidates fit that description? Not many, I would have to try hard to know. That’s what Trump was probably getting at.
There is no such thing as a black conservative. Once you become a conservative, you are no longer considered black by the liberals.
It may be true, but it may not have been wise to say it.
Misleading. He never said that.
Yeah, really.
No rag would publish a direct quote from Trump that was not true as he would promptly sue them into non-existence.
So, yeah, I believe he said it and I see nothing wrong with it.
Isn’t Trump basically saying that America is a racist nation? Why else would he think we would judge all black candidates based upon Obama?
