Snugs is still around. She posts .. very rarely ... on Facebook. She got married.

I’m not sure where Miss Marple is. A number of conservative forums sprang up after FR temporarily imploded but none of them were as easy to use as Free Republic and I never saw Miss Marple on any of them ... she could have changed names.

I think Trump has been wonderful for this primary...he has shattered conventional wisdom and driven the old guard nuts. Right now, they are reacting by being horrified at what he is saying. If and when they realize that he is resonating with the public, we will see.

If they are smart, they will embrace him... but we have reason to know they are not smart.

I’m for Ted Cruz right now. He is on good terms with Trump and I see a partnership of some sort in the making. Cruz is smart and articulate and also daring. He dared to call McConnell out over lies. The entire Senate fainted and came to gasping.

Also Ted Cruz is likable. He can skewer opponents while remaining pleasant and reasonable.

I am afraid of a 3rd party run. I think it might give us Hillary. I’m imagining a worst case scenario which would be , okay, Jeb Bush. If by some horrible twist of fate, Jeb Bush should be the nominee, I would re-name him and vote for him. His first name would be Not and his last name - Hillary.

Rick Perry was a good governor of Texas. He had a chance last time ... came in with a bang and used that bang to shoot himself in the foot. Yes, I believe he was ill, but I think that was his chance and it’s over. He attracted a lot of haters for some reason and they succeeded in driving me off of Free Republic. I hope they are rotting corpses now and no longer polluting the forum.

About me ... I moved to Maui three months ago with my daughter and her husband. He has a business here. It’s beautiful here but liberal. TV is iffy. We are 5 hours ahead of Central time. Right now is is 7:56 AM.

I have more time now and I really missed this thread, so I am back.

Ain’t it a hoot? The Republicans have a plethora of candidates, some of them quite good... The Dems have two, both bad, three if you count the pathetic loser, Biden.

It should interest people that the Dems cannot find one decent candidate among their ranks.

I still think it will be Hillary. Can they really afford to run an avowed socialist?

"He compared Obama’s Iran deal to the holocaust.

The Holocaust killed 6 million Jews

The Obama Iran deal could kill all 5 million of the people in Israel

Obama is batting cleanup for Hitler

Therefore, he might bring in viewers"

Thank you for nicely distilling that down to the facts. I'll be plagiarizing that if you don't mind, targeting those Hollywood scum that are running the Goebbels operation on American viewers dumb enough to listen to them in the first place ( like Jack Black, an incredible jackass ).

Judging from the pattern of past history of polls and primaries, Hillary and Jeb were never going to be the 2016 candidates.

Rove has to see a physician immediately. When one takes Viagra, if things last more than four hours.... I knew a fellow who had a stroke and never regained consciousness. That anti-Trump fetish is a health risk to Rove.

“I will not leave my Church for the same reason”

Agreed - It is still THE CHURCH, and as you have said, the Church has lived through some miserable Popes.
What WE the little people can do is reduce the $$$ the Church receives. This silent protest sends a strong message

“He should be banned from any discussion of the candidates. He is as partisan as they come “

Now, Now, we watch these shows because the pundits are partisan.

We only bitch when OUR representation is not AIRED

“r Catholic Church tradition here is heavily influenced by the Baptist churches”

Same here in Houston. A bit disappointing in that the Hymns are mostly English/Protestant.

I be needing some Monks doing Gregorian chants or some serious Bach

Speak for yourself. It is not journalism when you have Stephy who worked for the Clintons and donated to their foundation to be the interviewer of the author who blew the whistle on their scam and influence peddling. He never lets the viewer know any of that.

Rove worked for Bush 43 as a key member of his administration nd heads a PAC that can only be described as a GOPe organ. To have him out there again, without disclosing his connections to Jeb and the Bushes, with his white board doing an analysis of the candidates and the polls is dishonest.

I don't want any of these former party operatives filtering our news. The so-called journalists do enough of that. I don't care if it is Tony Snow, Perrino, Stephy, Mathews, Rove, et. al. There should be a ban on them working for the MSM as "journalists" in much the same way that we have members of Congress working for interest groups that lobby Congress. The current rules are not tough enough.

George Will is another example of the incestuousness of the MSM and partisan politics. The Obama administration cultivates the connections between the MSM and the familial relationships of Obamas staff.

The new poll continues to show Donald Trump leading the field. Trump is at 19 percent, followed by Scott Walker at 15 percent. Jeb Bush (14 percent) and Ben Carson (10 percent) are the other two candidates who earn double-digit support.

Perry, Christy, and Carson will fall out before long. Walker will hang in there for a long time. Bush will fight to the end but the base will revolt if he gets the nod.

Cruz, Walker, Trump are the three strongest non GOPe candidates.

My two cents worth.
