A new National Journal survey of “Republican insiders” finds that 57 percent of these political professionals think Donald Trump will bow out of the Presidential race before the Iowa Caucuses. This survey probably says more about the state of the Republican political class than anything about the 2016 race or Republican voters.
Interestingly, 65 percent of “Democrat insiders” believe Trump will compete in the Iowa Caucuses in February next year.
The survey results could easily be dismissed as both groups answering what they hope will happen. Some Republican campaign professionals offered comments beyond the question:
“No meteor or political candidate burns that brightly and survives very long.”
“Unscripted, he will crash and burn by Thanksgiving.”
“Flavor of the month.”
“Campaign will probably die of a self-inflicted wound.”
The easiest political prediction to make is that the Trump campaign will implode after some impolitic remark. To date, though, that hasn’t been the case, despite a full-throttled assault by the media and DC’s political class.
Trump currently leads all national polling in the race. His lead has apparently increased even after he made off-the-cuff remarks criticizing Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% ’s war record. That he has gained support after those remarks should be a sobering wake-up call to the political class.
Peggy Noonan, the Republican establishment’s Greek chorus, has woken up to the realization that the Trump phenomenon — and it is exactly that — is real. She understands something the political class doesn’t:
His rise is not due to his supporters’ anger at government. It is a gesture of contempt for government, for the men and women in Congress, the White House, the agencies.

Insiders wanting Trump out before Iowa. What are they going to do when he takes Iowa.
Oh! I know. Trump will be out before Super Tuesday.
Then when he wins Super Tuesday, they will say Trump is going to lose to Hillary.
Then when he wins against Hillary, Trump will only last one term and so on....
Did you know Bush and Cruz still have not filed their financials. Oh! But wait. Trump is the flake who has filed on time when everyone said he would not.

VERY INTERESTING. So Republican ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) still CANNOT figure out Trump. Whereas Democrat advisers (most of them straight, by the way) seem to very well understand Trump.
So be it...just makes it EASIER for Trump to go the distance.

The only chance of defeating Trump will be to use Alinsky-like tactics: isolate and polarize. The problem is that isolating Trump is like herding cats. He’s already beat the other candidates at the media game. He has the largest megaphone right now.

I’ll believe it when I see it that Iowa republican caucus voters go for Trump. The reason is that it is a long time until the caucuses and much, much more of his past positions and actions are going to come out before the caucuses.
The looks on the faces and jaws on the floor of the media on election night will be glorious. This has a real chance of being landslide proportions

If it happens, the “insiders” will say he will only last one term having been 100% up to that point. Then wait for the Trump reprisals. He will have the power for significant payback. Trump does not forget.
The Donald’s high poll numbers were made possible by the republican majorities elected to the house and senate and then proceeded to break every campaign promise to oppose Obamunism.
The man has re-energized me.
