As outrage grows over the killing of Cecil the lion, Zimbabwe has called on the United States to extradite the American dentist who shot the prized big cat.
Zimbabwe has started extradition proceedings and hopes the United States will cooperate, said Oppah Muchinguri, the African nation's environment minister.
Walter Palmer "had a well-orchestrated agenda which would tarnish the image of Zimbabwe and further strain the relationship between Zimbabwe and the USA," Muchinguri said.
Palmer, his professional hunter guide, and the owner of the land where the hunt took place are accused of an illegal hunt under the country's Parks and Wildlife Act, Muchinguri said in a statement on the country's parks and wildlife website.
Specifically, Palmer is accused of financing an illegal hunt, and he and the professional hunter are also accused of illegally using a crossbow "to conceal the illegal hunt" so they wouldn't alert rangers on patrol, she said.

You can get off the thread now.
When I worked at “the name on the stadium where the Patriots play”. There was a queenie in HR that worked at my location. Full bore flame thrower type. Anyway, he? invited me to drop my preemployment paperwork off at his? house. Uh, no.
Come to find out he? also offered the “personalized service” to another man who started at the same time and in the same group. He also refused.
After that, HR boi hated both our guts after being told “No!”. Paperwork would get lost. Problems with payroll (vacation, benefits) would occur that he? handled. Caddy, bitchy, loser stuff like that. Eventually, he? “left to pursue other interests” aka got fired because he? was an incompetent idiot.
(((They))) just can’t take it when they hear “No!” and are rebuffed. Nor can (((they))) admit they’re wrong, no matter how many times (((they’re))) told.
Sound like someone in this thread?
Like I said before: “queenies gonna queenie”. What a truly pathetic existence some lifeforms lead.
Let’s see if queenie boi can STFU, as he? was told to do by the Admin.
“...2 cats or around $1600...”
Damn that’s a LOT of puss.. no, never mind... :^)
“...Yeah, well, I hate all of you....”
Wow, Laz.... I’m too charming, talented, good-looking, charismatic, and humblre - ESPECIALLY HUMBLE, just ask me - to hate....
You forgot to mention that Obunghole didn’t do anything to assist or support that accidental victim (he was a Marine, if I remember correctly).. :/
The only thing I ever ‘hunted for sport’, was jackrabbits, coyote, and javelina... but they are crop nuisances (and property/pet/livestock nuisances for the coyote).
I would never think of sporting just for the fun of it.
Yeah. That’s where I part company with Conservatives who enjoy hunting big game. It’s one thing if you’re doing it for the purposes of utilizing the animal (food, hide, etc.) as the Native Americans did, but something about doing it simply for sport and the thrill rubs me the wrong way.
I don’t even like to kill bugs, nevermind animals. If I find them in the house, I’ll catch and release them outside, be they flies, wasps, beetles, camel crickets, grasshoppers, roaches, spiders, even mosquitoes. It’s actually enjoyable watching the flies and wasps fly on away after being trapped inside the house. You can imagine in some primitive way they’re happy to be free, and you helped.
I’m stating to sound like a Buddhist. ;-)
Agreed. Food, yes. Overpopulation, yes. Head on a wall, no.
But it’s a sport/enjoyable for some. Whatever melts your butter.
Bugs and things: Not a problem for me to kill them. Of course, if a window can be opened and they fly away, fine. If they stick around? Bye bye.
This thread is kind of old, isn’t it? In other news, Al Gore is still refusing to move out of Dick Cheney’s house.
Okay, so let me get this straight. I can go to Rhodesia and shoot big game and the locals are cool with it? Sign me up!
It is old. It got resurrected by someone who is... well, made a very unsound decision to try to restart a flame war.
Spiders I leave alone sometimes.
And those bastards with lots of legs, house centipedes, cause I hear they eat other bugs. We used to get em alot and they scared the hell out of my mom.
Flying bugs annoy the hell out of me, must die. We had a bad problem with these little moths, damn things, I must have killed hundreds.
Tenants have brought roach problems over the years. I never heard of anyone sparing roaches before, DJ. ;p
Moths, yes, we get those. I capture and release them outside, too. You end up making a bigger mess trying to kill roaches than catching them and releasing them outside.
My male cat, Sweetie Pie, likes to go after bugs. He’ll often get to the cockroaches before I do and will simply chomp and swallow them or bite them and walk away, leaving half-dead corpses.
