As outrage grows over the killing of Cecil the lion, Zimbabwe has called on the United States to extradite the American dentist who shot the prized big cat.
Zimbabwe has started extradition proceedings and hopes the United States will cooperate, said Oppah Muchinguri, the African nation's environment minister.
Walter Palmer "had a well-orchestrated agenda which would tarnish the image of Zimbabwe and further strain the relationship between Zimbabwe and the USA," Muchinguri said.
Palmer, his professional hunter guide, and the owner of the land where the hunt took place are accused of an illegal hunt under the country's Parks and Wildlife Act, Muchinguri said in a statement on the country's parks and wildlife website.
Specifically, Palmer is accused of financing an illegal hunt, and he and the professional hunter are also accused of illegally using a crossbow "to conceal the illegal hunt" so they wouldn't alert rangers on patrol, she said.

I remember when some idiot was proposing condoms for deer as a method of population control, instead of the deer hunt.
Yeah... you can pretty much figure out which side of the fence came up with that brainchild...
I doubt that it was condoms but I recall a similar idea in a letter to my county paper opposing those deer hunts on county land, he said that ‘contraceptives’ would be a better way of controlling the deer population than these hunts.
I recall wondering how that could possibly work.
Seeing a few dead and wounded deer on the road after being hit by cars should bring common sense to these anti-deer hunters,

It was but some nutbag decided to attack me for pointing out how deer were a huge nuance here where I live and its good that they are hunted, then claiming that illegals tried to kill him( like a big conspiracy) and that means that I hate deer and like illegals(who all want to kill us like they tried to kill him).
But now that Trump says they are good people for coming here its all OK.
What about those deer giving us Lyme disease and destroying our yards? No illegals in my neighborhood doing that.

I have disagreed with all of you at one time or an other here.
There is a reason why none of you have got comments from me like that digging up past idiotic pings to me.
Stay serious, honest, respectful and somewhat rational and you know from experience that I will always return the same.
Responding with me over political disagreements with personal attacks is irrational and to me unacceptable.
My mom hit a deer when I was 3 or 4 years old, totaled the Caddy. I left one of my shoes in the police car.
My brother was run off the road by a truck a couple years ago, I theorize the driver was an illegal. Or my brother fell asleep and lied to us about the cause of the accident. ;)
FMDJ has recounted how illegals in his area have harassed him and his former fiance. If I recall they have even had an impact on his yard? And of course they are known to a carry diseases.
I didn’t realize deer and illegals were so similar. ;-D
It is the deer tick that carries Lyme disease. Hitching a ride on the deer to sneak into your yard. So the illegals are more like the tick than the deer perhaps. (Although I don’t think ticks damage the lawn much.)
Yeah, I’m not crazy about hunting for sport, either. To me, seeing that dead lion is like seeing a big dead kitty and you know I have cats.
GOPster wasn’t joking about the illegals thing, though. He was almost killed in an accident on the highway involving illegals. I had a deer coming by my yard on and off in recent months, and he (or she) didn’t leave any sort of mess. As for the illegals in my neighborhood of the past two decades: daily harassment, increased crime, attempted murder, murder, and the uglification of the joint has had a very negative impact.

Where I live deers are uprooted by destroying their wooded homes with development of new neighborhoods for educated immigrants who get government jobs here .
And no its not the greedy Trump Republicans who approve of these developments its been the Dems who see more Dem voters in future.
So the deer here run wild and cause trouble no fault of their own as they are just animals, and pretty ones at that.
They have to be killed for safety and they are with yearly deer hunts.
We all have some disagreements from time to time, so I can understand what you’re saying. However, I’m just not sure why you chose to bring this up out of the blue (after 2+ years) and reignite an exchange that was best left alone.
