The University of Cincinnati is reportedly closed down this afternoon as police officers prepare for potential riots over the death of an unarmed man who was killed by university cops during a traffic stop last week.
Samuel Dubose, 43, who is black, was shot and killed by white UC Officer Ray Tensing after Tensing reported that he was dragged by Duboses vehicle and had to fire. The shooting, called not good by Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell, was captured on Tensings body camera and is set to be released today:

So we all know the “black guy getting pulled over procedure” now. When the cop makes a lawful request, such as your license or that you submit to arrest, DONT STOP TALKING. Say you ain’t getting arrested or ask questions over and over and over again about the reason for the stop while repeating “I didndu nuffin”. Then you are never to blame.
Or you could just give the cop your damned license.
Also, 70 arrests. 10 children that we are doubtless paying for. Yep, great loss to society. Forgive me if I don’t cry.
You don't do that. I would never do that to a human, and cops should never do that.
End of story.
You are right, this should never happen, no doubter. But it does and the main reason is that crime is rampant, our society is rotting. The new meme is black lives matter and unfortunately blacks now believe they are above the order of law and they don’t have to answer questions, they don’t have to obey laws and they have an automatic excuse for criminal behavior. I can tell you that cops are frozen with fear, the real war is being waged on them. They have brothers shot in the head such as in NYC, they see and hear of horrific crime and yet, they have to follow new procedures that put them at risk, all because of a false narrative. No one should be above the law, but we have allowed a new class of entitlement, which is “I don’t have to obey the law, I am black.” Seriously? Seventy arrests?
You do realize that crime is at or near all-time lows right now, right?
One other thing cooking in this incident. There seems to be a turf war or attempted turf grab from the city to take over cop services at the university. This can be a good and a bad thing for a university type venue.
University cops are supposed to know the environment and is supposed to be a toned down or low key law enforcement for the school. People pay big money to be there. Having street cops doing the same job would have a tendency to treat the students like any other suspects on the streets. University’s do not like this.
Yup. The flip side is that, because university cops typically engage in low key law enforcement and typically interact with college students, faculty and staff, they may lack the experience necessary to deal with other individuals (like, for instance, the dead guy in this case). They may have the same formal training as other cops, but their day-to-day experience is vastly different.
Exactly.
Referring to his instincts, the guy in the car was going to run. The cop guessed right that he was up to something.
As far as the cop shooting him, I don't know SOP for someone taking off like that, but high-speed chases put a lot more people at risk.
Why??
Cause that’s what you do when you’re drunk, driving with a suspended license, and about to be arrested for the 61st time.
Another reason why reputable private investigation firms many time avoid hiring retired cops. It’s that “Do as I say now” threatening or intimidating mentality drilled into them. That can make an interview go belly up real fast. People get defensive and clam up etc etc.
Yup, that's probably why he did it. But, again, it doesn't justify the use of deadly force.
The woman who hung herself in the jail cell did the same thing...just kept right on yaking...they use it to hopefully get the police to do something they can “get them” on...and delay results for their actions.
The cop was dealing with an uncooperative motorist, who, when asked ‘to step out of the car, ‘proceeded’ to turn the ignition and put the car in drive.
End of story....when cop pulls you over co-operate...give him your license...don’t create a situation forcing him to “guess” what your next move will be.
So what you are saying is, desperate people do desperate things? One has to ask what the progression of desperation can be.....fear, panic, hostility, violence?
Nah, not end of story. Sure, the victim was an idiot who certainly didn’t help himself out. But he also did nothing that would justify the use of deadly force.
Exactly. And too many conservatives unfortunately get caught in the black lives matter trap of then trying to dissect every little action of the cop. Its like the kid who acts up and acts up and acts up until dad swears, and then runs to mom saying “Daddy said the F word!”.
Let me ask another relevant question that will surely get me called or thought of as a racist, but bears asking. What would be more detrimental to society as a whole: If some cops have a little too much Napoleon complex and go over the line in dealing with people that resist arrest, or dont comply......or if cops “back off” en masse because people get upset and the folks with Dozens of arrests like the “victim” here, and Freddie Gray, and Eric Garner, and Mike Brown get it in their heads that they now have more freedom to operate? Which town would you rather live in?
No, Ohio is on Eastern Time. EDT at the moment, not EST.
I disagree. I think he starts the car and when the cop reaches in the drivers right hand moves towards the glove box.
now that is funny.......J2EE are ya? Love the tag line!
Evidence the guy “took off”? None. His hands were up and gun was stupidly pointed with finger on trigger and kid was shot. Cars now in motion from body weight at risk to public. Amazing police work. Bravo. And the other knee padding gang in blue at scene say their bro was “dragged”. Anything to justify murder. Long game for law enforcement legitimacy and rule of law? Not good, nope not at all.
